dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Endgerät aus einem herkömmlichen Rechnersystem (9) mit einem Bildschirmgerät (12) besteht, daß das Rechnersystem (9) mit einem Software-Programm zur Darstellung einer digitalen Straßenkarte des Verkehrsgebietes versehen ist und daß an das Rechnersystem (9) ein Zusatzgerät (1) angeschlossen ist, das aus folgenden Einheiten besteht: eine Empfängereinheit (3), eine Antenne (2), eine Prozessoreinheit (4) und eine Chip-Leseeinheit (5), wobei das Zusatzgerät (1) durch Einführen eines ordnungsgemäßen Chips (7) in Empfangsbereitschaff versetzbar ist und empfangene Verkehrsmeldungen in einen seriellen Datenstrom umwandelt, der durch das Software-Programm als visuelle Verkehrsinformation mit Symbolen und/oder verbalen Bezeichnungen und/oder Zahlenangaben ortsgerecht in einer Straßenkarte auf dem Bildschirm (12) darstellbar ist.
