Abstract
The operating method according to the invention for the at least one discharge lamp is characterized in that the discharge lamp (LP), preferably a neon gas discharge lamp, for generating a tail light with a first, lower electrical power and for generating a signal light, preferably a brake light, with a second, higher one electrical power is operated. This operating method is implemented by means of a voltage converter (T1, T2), which transforms the vehicle electrical system voltage into a medium-frequency AC voltage. The regulation of vehicle electrical system voltage changes and the power regulation of the lamp are carried out by the method of pulse width modulation. For this purpose, the circuit arrangement according to the invention has a control circuit with a control device (IC) for the voltage converter (T1, T2), an operational amplifier (OP), and a voltage divider (R21, R20) which can be switched between two settings by means of an electronic switch (T3). To switch between tail light and signal light operation, the voltage divider resistor in the control loop is switched by means of the electronic switch (T3).
