Description

Circuits for high-frequency electromagnetic waves require Coaxial connectors, designed for effective transmission the electromagnetic energy within it performing Line section virtually no characteristic impedance jumps may have. In today's usual implementation such circuits come in printed circuit board technology Coaxial multiple connector, straight coaxial connector and coaxial angle connectors, in high Packing density for application, their electrical, board-side Connection by means of be pressed into the circuit board Terminal pins is made.

The invention relates to an RF coaxial connector, consisting of arranged in a multiple connector housing Coaxial plugs - coaxial connector module - and in one Multiple socket housings arranged coaxial sockets - coaxial socket module - in which the coaxial connector module and the Coaxial socket module each on a pad, for example a printed circuit board, are fastened and im on the pad fastened state with its bottom side with the coaxial conductors connected pins a conductive connection produce connections associated with them on the underlay, in which the coaxial inner conductor of the coaxial connector module each isolated in coaxial outer conductor performing his Housing are taken, in which the coaxial inner conductor of the coaxial jack module with its bottom-side pins each isolated against their coaxial outer conductor in Receiving openings of its housing are arranged and in the the coaxial jack module and the coaxial connector module, the over an equal number of coaxial plugs and coaxial sockets in the same order, on the part of their connection Have means for their mutual centering.

Known RF coaxial connectors, such as those by reference US 5,169,343 a particularly high manufacturing effort, when the coaxial connector in terms of the number of its Coaxial connections have sufficient flexibility should.

As the reference US 5,169,343 with reference to the figures well can recognize, are the housing of the coaxial connector module and of the coaxial jack module for each of six Coaxial connectors or coaxial sockets designed in pairs combined to sub-plugs, used in their housing are. In this way it is possible, as needed and application the housings of coaxial connector module and coaxial socket module with two, four or six associated ones Coaxial plugs and coaxial sockets to equip. Of the high production costs for such coaxial connector results from the inevitable assembly game between the Unterstekkern to be inserted into the housing, the associated eccentricity of the coaxial mating face towards the theoretical center as well as impermissible Inclinations of coaxial plugs and / or coaxial sockets when pressed into the housing side or underside side Receiving openings. In order here invalid chain lengths of To avoid positional tolerances, in the manufacture of the Single components are allowed only very tight tolerances which leads to correspondingly high production costs.

As the further reference EP 0582960 A1 shows, can be the described production cost of such coaxial connector significantly lower for the coaxial connector module, that the coaxial connector in a housing of conductive Material to be integrated in the form of a monoblock. The monoblock forms the coaxial outer conductor in the form of holes. In these holes insulating plastic sleeves are inserted, in which the coaxial inner conductors are held. At the Coaxial socket module, however, are the coaxial sockets in receiving openings a degenerated to a base plate housing pressed. Again, the already described problems occur regarding the chain length of the positional tolerances.

The coaxial connector known from the latter reference has compared to that by the reference US 5,169,343 known coaxial connector the further advantage that coaxial plug module and coaxial socket module optional for one, two, three, four, five or six coaxial connectors can be equipped. In other words here is the multitude not only two but one.

The invention is based on the object for the RF coaxial connector of the latter type, in particular for its coaxial socket module to provide another solution the lower in terms of their manufacturing tolerances Requirements and thus more cost-effectively is.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the coaxial outer conductor of the coaxial jack module at least partially integrated in the housing thereby, that the Receiving openings receiving openings of the housing side Sleeves are formed on the housing and in the housing to the mating side for the Coaxial connector module in the form of conductive coaxial outer conductor extend that the housing-side sleeves one in their Outer diameter, preferably stepped widened, have tubular foot part and that created in this Coaxial outer conductor insulating plastic sleeves used are, which take up the coaxial inner conductor in itself.

The invention is based on the finding that similar to Monobloc design for the housing of the coaxial connector module in the coaxial connector according to the reference EP 0582960 A1 also in the case of the coaxial socket module Coaxial outer conductor can be integrated into the housing, that its receiving openings for the coaxial sockets on the housing side conductive sleeves are extended, which is the function of coaxial outer conductors for the coaxial sockets can.

In the embodiment shown in the drawing for a coaxial connector with six coaxial connectors 1 shows the coaxial connector module 1 in the form of a Coaxial-angle connector part and Fig. 2 shows the coaxial socket module 2 in the form of a straight coaxial connector part. The housing 3 of the coaxial connector module 1 and the housing 4 of the coaxial jack module 2 can be made of metal housing, for example, zinc injection, be. Both in the drawing illustrated embodiments are the Housing 3 and 4, however, completely or even partially metallized plastic housing. The thickness of the metallization is at least equal to the penetration depth of via the coaxial connector to be transmitted electromagnetic Waves. In the illustration of the coaxial connector module 1 in FIG. 1 and of the coaxial socket module 2 in FIG. 2 the housings 3 and 4 are completely metallised. In the housing side Coaxial outer conductor of the housing 3 and 4 are no coaxial inner conductor used yet. The coaxial outer conductor are not visible in Fig. 1, but there through the strip-shaped cover 10 inserted into the rear wall 5 and in Fig. 2 by the bottom 6 denoted by 11 visible Intake openings indicated.

As the bottom 6 of the housing 4 of the coaxial jack module 2 in Fig. 2 with its six receiving openings 11 for receiving the coaxial inner conductor can be seen very well, are the six coaxial connectors of the two modules on the housing side in a column row pattern of three columns and two Arranged rows. From the bottom 6 of the coaxial jack module 2 and the bottom 7 of the coaxial connector module 1 are centering pins 8 and 9, which when placed on a Pad, preferably a printed circuit board, in them there associated Recesses intervene. These documents are in Fig. 1 and 2 and not shown in the other figures.

Due to the comprehensive metallization of the housing 3 and 4 are all coaxial outer conductor on the one hand of the coaxial connector module 1 and on the other hand of the coaxial socket module 2 with each other electrically interconnect. This is usually desirable because the potential of the coaxial outer conductor usually lies on earth. For example, should the two right by their receiving openings 11 indicated coaxial outer conductor in terms of potential from the remaining four coaxial outer conductors on the one hand on the side of the coaxial socket module 2 and on the other hand, on the part of the coaxial connector module 1 in case of need after production and metallization of the housing 3 and 4 can be separated, so there are basically two possibilities.

One possibility is in the production of the Housing 3 and 4 outside the housing in the wall a groove 12th with a separating vane performing groove center web 13th memorize. On the right side of Fig. 1, the groove 12th including their groove center bar 13 enlarged in sections shown. The groove 12 with its groove center web 13th surrounds the housing 3 and the housing 4 between the two arranged right and the four left in the housing 3 and 4 respectively Coaxial outer conductors of the coaxial connector. The groove center bar 13 should not over the top of the groove 12 survive. By breaking away the groove center bar 13 can now if required, the already described potential separation between the coaxial outer conductors of the coaxial connector module 1 and coaxial socket module 2 subsequently brought about are, since the breaking point of the groove center web 13th is not metallized.

The housing outer side groove shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 12 with its groove center web 13 can also, for example, to the housings 3 and 4 are moved to the left, so that so a subsequent potential separation of the two left Coaxial outer conductor of the remaining four right coaxial outer conductors can be brought about. A housing outside Groove 12 with groove center web 13, the related to their representation in Figs. 1 and 2 perpendicular thereto between the two rows of three coaxial outer conductors extends around the housing 3 and 4, allows a subsequent potential separation between the three upper and the three lower coaxial outer conductors. With three exterior case sides Grooves 12 with groove center bar 13, so in their multiple external case application, if necessary subsequently the potentials of all six coaxial outer conductors be separated from each other.

Instead of one or more grooves 12 with wegbrechbarem groove center bar 13 between the coaxial outer conductors on the circumference of Housings 3 and 4, and here is the other possibility for subsequent potential separation metallization annular, for example by laser processing, partially be removed. Of course, for a later Potential separation also both possibilities at the same time Application come.

The electrically conductive connection of the coaxial outer conductor the coaxial connector module 1 and the coaxial jack module 2, which, it should be mentioned again, in Fig. 2 by the six receiving openings 11 for the coaxial inner conductor in the bottom 6 of Housing 4 are indicated, by means of pins 14, which hereby attached individually or repeatedly to ground strip 15 be used. The pins 14 are for their electrically conductive connection with them on one side Pad or a printed circuit board associated terminals provided with press-in contact heads 16. Single pins 14 are in metallized wall holes 17 in the bottom. 6 plugged in and held there in a press fit. For the attachment the attached to ground strip 15 pins are provided in the bottom 6 metallized wall slots 18. For the tight fit of the ground strips 15 in the wall slots 18 provide at the mass strip 15 mounted knob-like formations 19 and pawl 20. The choice and arrangement of wall holes 17 and wall slots 18 in the bottom 6 for attachment the pin 14 is, as shown in FIG. 2 reveals depending on what options for a subsequent Potential separation between the coaxial outer conductors of the coaxial connector module 1 and coaxial socket module 2 is provided should be.

Only for the sake of completeness, it is pointed out in the case of the coaxial plug-in module 1 in FIG. 1 at its bottom 7 in the same way as on the bottom 6 of the coaxial socket module. 2 in Fig. 2 pins 14 individually or repeatedly in connection are attached with ground strips 15.

In contrast to FIG. 2, in the housing 4 of FIG. 3 shown coaxial jack module 2 on the outside only the bottom 6 is provided with a metallization M. This therefore only partially provided metallization M also extends to the receiving openings 11 and the inner wall in Figs. 5-10 described in more detail, in the housing 4 integrated coaxial outer conductor. For one Subsequent potential separation according to FIG. 2 needs the groove 12 with the groove center bar here therefore not annular on the circumference of the housing 4 but only on the outside the bottom 6 are provided. A corresponding partial Metallization may be at the housing 3 of the coaxial connector module 1 also be made.

The partial metallization of the housing 4 of the coaxial jack module According to Fig. 3 can be driven even further because the outside of the bottom 6 of the housing 4 only yes insofar with a metallization M around the receiving openings 11 must be provided as this for contact with the pins 14 is required. Any desired Potential separations between the coaxial outer conductors can be considered immediately. In that shown in Fig. 4 Coaxial jack module 2 are at the bottom 6 of the housing 4 three in terms of area on two receiving openings 11 for two coaxial outer conductors limited metallizations M provided caused by the potential separation in the manner is that the coaxial jack module 2 via three from each other independent coaxial outer conductor pairs. In appropriate Way can also be the coaxial connector module 1 partially be metallized.

In Fig. 5 is a partial section of a coaxial jack module 2 shown in FIGS. 2-4, the insight into the housing 4 with its coaxial sockets 21 from its mating side 22 forth shows and where the coaxial outer conductor full are integrated in the housing 4. Like the sectional view one of the coaxial sockets 21 in Fig. 6 shows are the coaxial outer conductor housing-side sleeves 23, the part of the soil 6 of the housing 4 are and from their receiving opening 11 in the bottom 6 into the housing 4 into its plug side 22nd extend. The sleeves 23 have a step-broadened Foot part 24 and are at their free front end the outside with contact tips 25 provided. At the sleeves 23 need to realize their coaxial outer conductor function at least their inner walls including their contact points Be provided with a metallization M 25. To the Contact tips 25 to allow radially resilient properties the sleeves have 23 axial slots 26 extending from their free frontal end until near their transition extend into the tubular foot part 24.

In the metallized sleeves 23 are insulating plastic sleeves 27 used the metallic coaxial inner conductor 28 in itself. In their tube inside diameter are the sleeves 23 stepped two stages. In the same Way are the plastic sleeves 27 in their outer diameter discontinued twice. These diameter heels serve on the one hand the impedance matching of the coaxial sockets 21st On the other hand, formed by these diameter paragraphs Ring edges associated with each other stops 29 and 30th for the in the sleeves 23 to be inserted to the stop Plastic sleeves 27. For the conductive connection of the coaxial inner conductor 28 with an associated on his side Connection goes to the coaxial inner conductor 28 at the bottom 6 of the housing 4 also in a pin 14, which in the Front side of the coaxial inner conductor 28 on the side of the bottom 6 of the housing 4 is pressed or soldered.

Are higher demands on the plug properties, it makes sense to integrate the coaxial outer conductor only partially perform in the housing 4. A first Embodiment for this show the Figs. 5 and 6 corresponding to Figs. 7 and 8. The coaxial outer conductor performing Housing-side sleeves 31 have no axial here Slits but are crowned with a metallic spring ring 32. The spring ring 32 has outside radially resilient contact points 33 and is stepped on this in its outer diameter remote front end 34 of the sleeves 31 attached. The sleeves 23 must to achieve their Coaxial outer conductor function at least their inner walls as well their stepped remote front ends 34 with a metallization M be provided.

A second embodiment for a partial integration of Coaxial outer conductors are shown in FIGS. 7 and 8 Fig. 9 and 10. In contrast to Figs. 7 and 8 is the actual mating part of the sleeves 35 between their free front end and its tubular foot part 24 of a metallic outer conductor tube 36. The metallic outer conductor tube 36 is on the side of the free end face the sleeves 35 by axial slots 37 in radial spring blades 38 split, at their free ends on the outside are provided with contact tips 39.

The metallic outer conductor tube 36 is on each of the Coaxial inner conductor 28 in receiving insulating plastic sleeve 40 pushed up to the stop 41 and on the Plastic sleeve 40 firmly anchored in a press fit. The stop 41 of the plastic sleeve 40 is stepped by its stepped Pipe outside diameter in the region of the tubular foot part 24 realized. Again, the insulating plastic sleeve 40 with the pushed on them metallic outer conductor tube 36 to stop 42 in the tubular foot part 24 inserted. The stop 42 results on the one hand through the stepwise stepped inner tube diameter of tubular foot part 24 and on the other hand by the likewise Stepped outside tube diameter of the metallic Outer conductor tube 36. So that the metallic outer conductor tube 36 realize the desired coaxial outer conductor function can, must at least the inner wall of the tubular Foot part 24 have a metallization M, throughout until the metallization M on the outside of the soil 6 of the housing 4 with the pins 14th

As shown in Fig. 11 in section coaxial connector module 1 of FIG. 1, here are the coaxial outer conductor integrated in the housing 3 in the form of holes 43. In these holes 43 are from the front (plug side) insulating plastic sleeves 44 and 45 to stop 46th or 47 inserted. The plastic sleeves 44 and 45 in receiving angled coaxial inner conductor 48 and 49 are on the other hand, from the back to the insulating plastic sheaths 44 and 45 inserted. For this are in the rear wall 5 of the housing 3, as shown in FIG. 12, strip-shaped openings 50 are provided, which after completion the assembly by their common, in Fig. 13 in supervision lid 10 are closed. The housing side Assembly of the angled coaxial inner conductor 48 or 49 also require unspecified in Fig. 11 Openings at the bottom 7 of the housing 3, following the Assembly of the coaxial inner conductors 48 and 49 by insulating Plastic parts 51 and 52 are closed. The from the Floor 7 led out parts of the angled coaxial inner conductor 48 and 49 are, as shown in FIG. 11, by these plastic parts 51 and 52 passed. The bottom side Ends of the angled coaxial inner conductor 48 and 49 are here by a stamping operation to pins 53rd shaped. According to Figs. 6, 8 and 10 can but here be made of pins 14 use, then in the correspondingly shaped end faces of the coaxial inner conductor pressed on the side of the bottom 7 of the housing 3 or soldered.

The mutual shielding between the stacked Coaxial connectors 54 in the region of in Fig. 11 is not closer to the bottom openings, which are suitable for mounting the angled coaxial inner conductor 48 and 49 required can easily through a with pins 14 provided, shown in Fig. 2 ground strip 15 are made, which, as shown in FIG. 11, from Bottom 7 of the housing 3 up between the coaxial inner conductor 48 and 49 is inserted. Should the holes 43 satisfy the coaxial outer conductor function for the coaxial connectors 54, then at least its wall must be metallized M be provided, and throughout to the metallization M with the pins 14 on the outside of the Bodens 7 of the housing 3. It should be noted, however, that in the Representation of the coaxial connector module 1 in Fig. 11, the housing 3 completely metallized in accordance with FIG is.

Also in the coaxial connector module 1 according to FIGS. 1 and 11 It may, provided the coaxial connector has higher quality requirements be reasonable, the Coaxial outer conductor only partially in the housing 3 to integrate. In Fig. 11 is such a partial integration in lower coaxial connector 54 shown.
