Abstract

Die herkömmlichen Verbrennungskraftmaschinen sind mit Ausnahme des Wankelmotors Hubkolbenmaschinen, die konstruktiv bedingt drehzahlenbegrenzt sind. Der thermische und mechanische Wirkungsgrad sind, ebenfalls konstruktiv bedingt, niedrig. Der konstruktive Aufbau ist sehr aufwendig und für die Herstellung der einzelnen Bauteile sind sehr teure Spezialmaschinen erforderlich. Bedingt durch die unvollkommene Gasverbrennung sind die CO und CO2-Werte ungünstig. Leistungssteigerungen dieses Motors sind nur noch begrenzt über neuartige Materialien möglich. Dieser Motortyp eignet sich nur sehr bedingt für die Verbrennung anderer Gase, wie z. B. Der Peter Speed-Turbo Motor ist ein Drehkolbenmotor. Sobald der Kolben in Bewegung ist, ändert er die Bewegungsrichtung nie mehr. Dieser Motor eignet sich für die Verbrennung von Wasserstoff, da der Schlag auf den Kolben im Moment der Zündung entfällt.
