Abstract

In a process and apparatus for drying small articles in a process container, such as closure elements of pharmaceutical vessels after a treatment of the closure elements, an air-permeable support is arranged beneath the articles to support them and prepared preheated air is fed to the interior of the process container and through the support to dry the articles while they are resting on the support. An additional air mass flow is at least once briefly passed under the support during the drying operation, to lift and thereby turn the small articles to ensure at least substantially complete drying thereof.

Description

The invention relates to a method for drying in a process container small objects, such as closure elements for pharmaceutical purposes (stopper), after a treatment of small objects as well as a device to carry out this method, in which the small objects an air permeable edition is arranged, the interior of the process container recycled preheated air is supplied and the small objects relative to the process container be rearranged by air so that a complete Drying takes place.

Closing elements for pharmaceutical Purposes, such as plugs, will do so treated that they first in a washing phase by means of high purity, germ-free water. The washing can be done with or without the addition of detergents respectively. To initiate the washing phase the process container is first with the Filled closure elements and it is added water. For the actual washing process, the Closure elements supplied by the process container Compressed air moves. The washing water is after the treatment process drained again. Possibly. In a second phase, this is followed by siliconization at. This is again hot, high purity water added, with the water dosed with silicone added becomes. Then the water is removed. In an ensuing further phase takes place Sterilization using steam.

After steam sterilization are the closure elements wet and need to be removed before taking be dried. A usable for this, conventional Dryer is known from DE 41 39 860. So that no drops remain, it is known that To move plug in the process container such that As complete as possible drying takes place.

Kompaktieren). For this purpose, it is known, the process container move mechanically during the supply of warm air, to achieve that during the drying process the closure elements respectively opposite take different positions from their previous position so that the warm air also those areas can reach the closure elements, in the previous Position either against the inner wall of the process container or against others Plug systems (so-called turning). This is disadvantageous that for the generation of a mechanical movement the process container consuming facilities required are. It also occurs due to the constant friction the closure elements against each other in drying processes an undesirable according to the prior art Particle abrasion. Furthermore occurs in particular at siliconized fastener elements during known drying process often the undesirable Phenomenon on that the closure elements stick together and thus clump together (so-called compacting).

Kompaktieren neigen.Fluid bed dryers are also known, for example from K. Kröll: Dryer and Drying Process, Springer-Verlag 1959, p. 275 ff., In which Air constantly at such speed through one Layer of particles flows upwards that particles slightly raised and loosened, but not carried away become. All parts are permanently in Move. This allows free-flowing goods to which also plastics may belong, be dried. Another disadvantage here is that the particles due to of their movement often clash and thereby produce a considerable abrasion. Furthermore These fluidized bed dryers are not for particles suitable, which tend to clumping or compacting.

In DE 42 11 485 C2 discloses a method for Removal of moisture from the inside of a Solid, for example, described from wood. The Wood is first subjected to a high pressure, the liquid mechanically from the solid drives out and then one periodically rapidly changing pressure to the rest Remove moisture. Again, by the constant Pressure change the risk of heavy particle abrasion given.

The present invention has the object underlying a method and an apparatus for Implementation of this method of the aforementioned To create kind, with or with the as much as possible low technical complexity as complete as possible Drying of small objects achieved while doing Particle abrasion and compaction largely is avoided.

The solution of this task is carried out according to the invention by the features of claim 1.

It is advantageous that a gentle lifting and subsequent turning of the small objects such that then the hot air also inaccessible in the previous position Areas and thus ultimately an all-round one Drying is ensured without a compacting For example, siliconized small objects occurs.

A device for carrying out the method is characterized by the features of claim 2.

The invention will be described below with reference to the in the drawing schematically illustrated embodiment explained in more detail.

The single figure shows a schematic representation a process vessel and a pressurized wind turbine with the appropriate line connections. The valves required for process control are not shown.

A designated 1 process container is for Treatment of closure elements for pharmaceutical Intended purpose. The treatment has one Washing phase, optionally a siliconization phase, a subsequent Sterilization phase and a subsequent Drying phase on. Subject of the The present invention is merely the drying phase.

The process container 1 has a designated 2, perforated support for the closure elements, z. B. plug (not shown). The closure elements be in the process container 1 via a (not shown) Opening introduced. The process container 1 is from a schematically illustrated terminal 3rd from over a pipe connection and a media pipe 4 high purity water (WFI, Water for Injection) supplied. Possibly. Be a terminal 5 detergents added. For the washing process, compressed air is over a port 6 via a conduit 7 and the media tube 4 fed to the interior of the process container, whereby moves the closure elements in the water and thereby the washing process takes place. The Compressed air escapes via an exhaust air connection 15. Nach Completion of the washing process, the water is over a Water drain 8 derived.

If necessary, then a siliconization respectively. For this purpose, the container interior is again Supplied water, which silicone via a metering device 9 was added. Subsequently, the Closure elements again by means of supplied compressed air emotional. After completion of the siliconizing process the water drained again.

Subsequently, a sterilization process. For this purpose, the process container 1 from the top pure vapor supplied via a terminal 10. The Sterilization occurs at about 120 ° C for about 20 minutes at elevated pressure. After sterilization, the Process container brought back to atmospheric pressure.

Subsequently, the drying process takes place the closure elements. This is the interior of the Process container via the media tube 4 heated sterile air supplied via a terminal 11.

In order to dry all-round in gentler - d. H. to avoid a particle abrasion - to reach way is the inside of the process container over the Media tube 4 and a process pipe 12 cyclically a mass air flow from a designated with 13 pressure wind boiler fed. The pressure wind boiler 13 is at the opposite side of the process pipe 12 with the compressed air connection 6 in conjunction, so that when closed Compressor 13 and supply of Compressed air 6 an overpressure can be built up. about a controller (not shown) then becomes from the pressurized pressure vessel under pressure 13 a metered air mass flow the process container 1 from the bottom, so through the perforated pad 2 of the closure elements supplied. As a consequence, that resting on the support 2 locking elements be raised and turned, taking under Turning is understood that the closure elements one each from their previous position Take position so that the warm sterile air 11 too reach those areas of the closure elements can, at the previous location position either against the inner wall of the process container. 1 or against other closure elements systems. This Stock transfer or reversal process can be multiple if necessary be repeated until the desired degree of drying is reached.

Subsequently, the process container with the closure elements contained therein with nitrogen be superimposed on a terminal 14.
