Definitions
- the invention relates to a in a fuel tank a baffle to be arranged in a motor vehicle, which to be carried out through an assembly opening in the fuel tank is provided and a container bottom and has a side wall.
- baffles are used in today's motor vehicles for collecting fuel from an almost empty fuel tank used. This creates the surge pot for example when cornering or driving uphill Motor vehicle sufficient supply of an internal combustion engine of the motor vehicle with fuel safely.
- the baffle is usually one in the top the opening of the fuel tank introduced and for fastening in the fuel tank in usually biased against the bottom of the fuel tank. This is how the conveyor unit is assembled particularly easy with the baffle.
- the invention is based on the problem of a baffle of the type mentioned at the outset so that it has the largest possible volume and if possible small mounting holes in the top of the fuel tank required.
- the baffle can in the Fuel tank mounted home position a big one Take up volume of fuel and thus safety the fuel supply to the internal combustion engine also ensure longer cornering or mountain trips.
- the surge pot has one in comparison to the basic position small cross section on and can be made through relatively small assembly openings in insert the fuel tank.
- the baffle is according to an advantageous development of the invention for mounting in angled fuel tanks suitable if the wall has at least one has elastic insert.
- This elastic insert can, for example, in the basic position to the outside be stretched or parts of the Wall opposite fixed parts of the baffle seal.
- the swirl pot has a particularly large one in the basic position Volume and in the mounting position a small cross section, if the elastic insert extends around the full circumference of the Baffle extends. As a result, the surge pot has Installation position a narrow elongated shape. In The elastic insert can be pushed outwards will. The surge pot then has one bulbous shape.
- the baffle can be advantageous according to another Manufacturing the invention inexpensively, if the side wall is at least a flat wall having a film hinge on one edge of the In the basic position, the bottom of the container can be swiveled outwards is attached.
- the wall and the film hinge can be for example in one piece with the other components of the Manufacture plastic surge pot using the injection molding process.
- the baffle has another advantageous one Further development of the invention in the basic position is high Stability if the wall has a bellows on it Folds in the bottom of the container.
- the bellows can around part or the full circumference of the baffle extend or to seal a movable Wall opposite fixed parts of the baffle be used. Because the bellows is simply one piece with the remaining parts of the baffle made of plastic can be manufactured using the injection molding process Design to further reduce manufacturing costs for the baffle.
- the baffle can be advantageous according to another Development of the invention by particularly small Pass mounting holes through when it is completely out is made of an elastic material.
- the baffle is assembled according to one other advantageous development of the invention particularly easy if he has a spring element to its preload in the basic position.
- a spring element for example, a spring to be arranged separately will.
- the bellows or the rubber-elastic insert the baffle in the basic position preload.
- FIG. 1 shows one arranged in a fuel tank 1 Swirl pot 2 in a basic position.
- Fuel tank 1 has a mounting opening on its top 3, by a flange 4 of a fuel delivery device 5 is closed.
- a guide 6 with a spring 7 arranged, the baffle 2 against the bottom of the Prestresses fuel tank 1.
- a fuel pump 8 is arranged, the fuel over a flow line 9 to an internal combustion engine, not shown promotes the motor vehicle.
- the flange 4 the fuel delivery device 5 is from the flow line 9 and one returning from the internal combustion engine Return line 10 penetrated.
- the surge pot 1 has a container bottom 11 and one side wall 12 and is on the return line 10th and a bottom valve 13 arranged in the tank bottom 11 filled with fuel.
- the wall 12 has one around the full circumferential elastic insert 14, which is pushed outwards in the basic position shown is.
- the surge pot 2 has a special large volume. Do you want the baffle 2 from the Remove fuel tank 1 through assembly opening 3, the swirl pot 2 can easily be turned into a narrow one Bring elongated shape with which he goes through the assembly opening 3 is feasible by using the elastic insert 14 inwards.
- FIG. 2 shows a surge pot 15 in the basic position, in which a flat wall 16 of its side wall 12 with a film hinge 17 on an edge of the container bottom 11 is attached.
- the wall 16 is through the film hinge 17 pivoted and with fixed Areas of the wall 12 via an elastic insert 18 connected.
- the wall 16 is made of elastic insert 18 outwards and thus in the basic position of the Baffle 15 biased.
- FIG. 3 shows a surge pot 19 in which part of its wall 12 with a bellows 20 folds 21 running towards the container bottom 11 are formed is.
- the wall 12 of the surge pot 19 can thus be used after assembly in the fuel tank shown in Figure 1 1 simply fan out.
