A control device for pneumatic appliances such as screw guns comprising a body (1) in which there is housed a pneumatic motor (8) driving a tool (16) by a kinematic link, the said body (1) being integral with a handle (2) comprising, on the one hand, an intake duct (4) intended to be connected to a hose for the distribution of compressed air, and, on the other hand, an exhaust duct (7) connected directly to the exhaust of the motor (8), the said control device comprising a trigger suitable to be mounted to rock on a handle at an intermediate point of its length, and connected by a kinematic link to a valve (15) to control, when it is rocked in one direction or the other, the intake of compressed air towards a cavity (26) which opens onto a first intake conduit (37) corresponding to a normal direction of rotation of the motor, the trigger (11) being rocked in one direction, and onto a second intake conduit (40) corresponding to an opposite direction of rotation of the motor, the trigger being rocked in the other direction, and means for selectively conveying the compressed air towards the one or the other of the intake conduits (37, 40), according to the rocking direction of the trigger, the said control device being
      characterised in that the trigger (11) is connected to a piston (21) which can move in a cylinder (22), a rod (19) joined to the valve (15) being inserted into an opening of the piston (21) so as, when the trigger is rocked in one direction or the other, to control the intake of compressed air, the said piston (21), on the side opposite the trigger (11), comprising a cam (30) cooperating with one end of a thrustor (51) guided in a bore (50) of the body and the other end of which bears against a selector (43), one end of which is articulated on a pin (42) of a wall (57) of the body and comprising an exhaust conduit (56), whereas the other end ends in a blade (45) cooperating with the said wall (57), elastic means (44) keeping the selector (43) in a position in which the first intake conduit (31) can be supplied, the blade (45) bringing the second intake conduit (40) into communication with the exhaust conduit (56), the rocking of the trigger, in the direction corresponding to the normal rotation of the motor, causing a sliding in one direction of the piston (21) to control the opening of the valve, whereas the rocking of the trigger (11) in the opposite direction causes a sliding of the piston (21) in an opposite direction so as, on the one hand, to control the opening of the valve (15) and, on the other hand, so that the cam (30) displaces the thrustor (51), which, by cooperating with the selector, moves it so that the blade (45) closes the first intake conduit (37), uncovers the second intake conduit (40) and brings the first intake conduit (37) into communication with the exhaust conduit (56).
    2. A control device for pneumatic appliances such as screw guns, according to Claim 1,
      characterised in that the end of the thrustor (51) which cooperates with the cam (30) comprises a ball bearing (52).
