Definitions
- the present invention relates to a shoe press, in particular for a paper machine, with at least one roller, which comprises a flexible roller jacket rotating around a stationary support, which is rotatably supported in its two axial end regions on the support of the roller in each case by a supporting device, and at least one includes a support surface for the inside of the roller jacket shoe.
- the flexible roller jacket is usually pressed against a rigid counter-roller by the concave press shoe which is bent inwards.
- a press nip thus arises between the press roll and the counter roll, which has a certain length in the feed direction of the pressed material, so-called press zone length.
- the longer this press zone the greater the press impulse applied to the material to be pressed at the same contact pressure of the press shoe.
- the contact pressure of the press shoe can also be different in the feed direction via the press zone, that is to say have a gradient.
- the aim is therefore to increase the pressing pulse.
- the maximum pressure and the pressure gradient in the press nip should be as low as possible.
- the invention has for its object to develop a shoe press of the type mentioned so that these disadvantages do not occur.
- the deformation of the roll shell in the region of the two axial edges of the press shoe is to be reduced.
- rollers each having a shoe with a flat support surface, the support surfaces of the two shoes being essentially parallel to one another and forming a press nip between them, and in that at least one support device is designed to be radially flexible, in particular elastic is.
- At least one of the two rollers has radially flexible support devices for both axial end regions of its roll shell, the support devices of one roller preferably being provided opposite the two axial end regions of the press shoe of the other roller and being able to be supported thereon.
- a three-dimensional deformation of the roller jacket of the pressure roller is avoided in the area between the press shoe and the roller jacket support, because by rolling off the flexible support devices on the shoe of the counter-roller, the support devices are deformed in the same way as the roller jacket in the area of the shoe of the pressure roller.
- the counter roll can be provided with rigid support devices for its roll shell without excessive deformation of the roll shell occurring.
- both rollers each have a radially flexible support device for an axial end region of their roller shell, these support devices being provided at opposite axial ends of the two rollers and in each case one axial end region of the shoe opposite the other roller and being able to be supported thereon are.
- the respective other supporting devices of the two rollers can be designed as rigid clamping disks.
- This asymmetrical jacket support also results in very low roll jacket deformation, but essentially both rolls are constructed in the same way and can have the same width. In addition, the width of the press nip is larger here.
- two rollers are provided, each having a radially flexible support device for both axial end regions of the roll shell, the support devices being arranged opposite one another in pairs.
- the support devices roll on each other and thus also ensure a low jacket deformation.
- the two rollers are essentially identical.
- a rim with an air-filled tube in particular is preferably provided as the radially flexible support device. This is structurally inexpensive and enables the radial flexibility of the support device to be adjusted by changing the pressure in the hose.

- roller jacket and hose are preferably connected to one another in a form-fitting manner, the hose in particular its support side is provided with grooves extending in the circumferential direction, in which corresponding elevations engage on the inside of the roll shell.
- This configuration creates a firm connection between the hose and the roll shell, which withstands the heavy loads during the deformation of the hose during operation of the roll.
- this configuration increases the connection area, so that the strength of the connection is also increased when the roller jacket and hose are bonded.
- eccentric tensioning disks can be provided as inflexible supporting devices and a shoe can be arranged asymmetrically in at least one roller.
- the two rollers preferably have essentially the same diameter as one another.
- the shoe press shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 comprises a first press roll 1 with a flexible roll jacket 3 rotating around a stationary support 2 and a first shoe 6 having an at least largely flat support surface 4 for the inside 5 of the roll jacket 3.
- the first shoe 6 the roller 1 interacts with a second shoe 8, which likewise has an at least largely flat support surface 7 and which supports a flexible roller jacket 10 of a second roller 11 which runs around a stationary support 9.
- the support surfaces 4 and 7 of the two shoes 6 and 8 run essentially parallel to one another, preferably with a low average convergence in the running direction of the roll shell 3.

- the rim 14, 15 is rotatably mounted on the stationary support 2, 9, while the tube 16, 17 is fixedly connected, in particular glued, to the roll shell 3, 10. In this way, radial support of the axial end regions of the roll shells 3, 10 is achieved with radial flexibility.
- the two rollers 1 and 11 are substantially symmetrical to each other with respect to the press nip 20 formed between the rollers 1, 11.
- the shoes 6, 8 of both rollers also have the same width and, in addition, essentially the same length.
- the two shoes 6 and 8 of the two rollers 1 and 11 are each radially adjustable with respect to the associated stationary support 2 or 9, as indicated by arrows 18 and 19.
- the roller 1 is equipped with means for contact pressure regulation, while the roller 11 is only equipped with means for compensating for a deflection of the stationary support 9 by radial adjustment of the shoe 8.
- the roller 1 is thus designed as a self-loading press roller, while the roller 11 serves as a counter roller, the shoe 8 of which is radially rigidly connected to the stationary support 9 at least at one point, but preferably at two points adjacent to the ends of the shoe 8.
- a paper web 21 is guided through the press nip 20 formed between the two rollers 1 and 11, and a felt belt 22 is guided on the side of the paper web 21 facing the roller 1.
- a felt belt can also be guided through the press nip 20 on the opposite side of the paper web 21.
- the rollers 1, 10 and in particular are Shoes 6, 8 are basically designed in the same way as in the first variant shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
- the shoes 6, 8 also have a flat support surface 4 or 7, which is essentially parallel to one another.
- roller 1 In contrast to the first variant, however, in the variant of the invention shown in FIG. 3, only the roller 1 is designed with radially flexible side plates 12, 13 in the form of rims 14, 15 provided with air-filled tubes 16, 17, while the second roller 11 has rigid side plates 112, 113.
- both the width of the roller shell 10 and the width of the shoe 8 of the second roller 11 are larger than the respective width in the first roller 1.
- the width of the roll shell 3 of the first roll 1 essentially corresponds to the width of the shoe 8 of the second roll 11, so that the two flexible side plates 12, 13 of the first roll 1 are arranged opposite the two axial end regions of the shoe 8 of the second roll 11 .
- the deformation of the roller shell 3 in the area of the shoes 6, 8 corresponds to the deformation of the axial end regions of the roller shell 3 by pressing the flexible side shields 12, 13 of the first roller 1 against the shoe 8 of the second roller 11 reached. It is also ensured here that the roller shell 3 between shoe 6 and the two side plates 12, 13 experiences practically no three-dimensional bending deformation.
- the larger width of the second roller 11 means that despite the use of rigid side plates 112, 113 excessive bending alternation between the shoe 8 and the two side plates 112, 113 is also avoided.
- both rollers 1, 11 are each equipped with a radially flexible side plate 12 and a radially rigid side plate 113, which are, however, provided on opposite axial ends of the rollers 1, 11.
- the two rollers 1, 11 are arranged offset from one another in such a way that the radially flexible side plate 12 of the two rollers 1, 11 can each be supported on an opposite axial end region of the shoe 6, 8 of the respective other roller 1, 11. This also achieves a pressing zone with uniform and relatively little deformation of the roll shells 3, 10.
- Fig. 5 shows a detail of Fig. 1, from which it can be seen that the tube 16 of the roller 1 is provided on its support surface 23 with grooves 24 extending in the circumferential direction of the tube 16, into which corresponding elevations 25 on the inside 5 of the roller shell 3 intervene accordingly.
- all other hoses 16, 17 can also be connected to the respectively assigned roller jacket 3, 10.
- the radially flexible, in particular elastic, support of the roll shells 3, 10 on the respectively assigned carrier 2, 9 enables the deformation of the roll shells 3, 10 to be evened out as they pass through the press nip 20.
- three-dimensional bending deformations are largely avoided and thereby the load on the roller shells 3, 10 is greatly reduced. Their lifespan increases accordingly.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a shoe press, in particular for a paper machine, with at least one roller, which comprises a flexible roller jacket rotating around a stationary support, which is rotatably supported in its two axial end regions on the support of the roller in each case by a supporting device, and at least one includes a support surface for the inside of the roller jacket shoe.
In the shoe presses of the type mentioned, the flexible roller jacket is usually pressed against a rigid counter-roller by the concave press shoe which is bent inwards. A press nip thus arises between the press roll and the counter roll, which has a certain length in the feed direction of the pressed material, so-called press zone length. The longer this press zone, the greater the press impulse applied to the material to be pressed at the same contact pressure of the press shoe. The contact pressure of the press shoe can also be different in the feed direction via the press zone, that is to say have a gradient.
For example, in the case of paper as pressed material, there are increasing requirements for, among other things, its dry content, smoothness and volume. The aim is therefore to increase the pressing pulse. At the same time, however, the maximum pressure and the pressure gradient in the press nip should be as low as possible.
In order to achieve this, an extension of the press zone, that is to say the press shoe, can be considered. However, these are with the Lengths of approx. 300 mm reached today limits, since with increasing shoe length the immersion depth of the flexible roll shell increases correspondingly due to the concave support surface of the press shoe which is modeled on the counter roll. Such a strong immersion of the flexible roll shell has the disadvantage, among other things, of a strong curvature of the roll shell in the inlet and outlet area of the press nip. The deformations in the region of the two edges of the press shoe are particularly strong and critical, since a transition to the circular cylinder shape caused by the radial support of the roll shell also takes place here in the axial direction.
The invention has for its object to develop a shoe press of the type mentioned so that these disadvantages do not occur. In particular, the deformation of the roll shell in the region of the two axial edges of the press shoe is to be reduced.
This object is achieved in that two rollers are provided, each having a shoe with a flat support surface, the support surfaces of the two shoes being essentially parallel to one another and forming a press nip between them, and in that at least one support device is designed to be radially flexible, in particular elastic is.
Due to the radial flexibility of the support, a radial flexibility of the roller shell bearing is generated, so that the roller shell is also radially deformable in the area of the bearing and, as a result, less bending deformation occurs during operation of the roller in the area of the axial edges of the shoes. Due to the press shoes with a flat support surface, the immersion depth of the roll shell during operation of the roll in the area of the press zone is compared to conventional ones Shoe presses with a rigid counter-roller reduced in about half. Together with the radial flexibility of the support devices of the roll shell on the carrier, the overall result is a very slight deformation of the roll shell.
According to one embodiment of the invention, at least one of the two rollers has radially flexible support devices for both axial end regions of its roll shell, the support devices of one roller preferably being provided opposite the two axial end regions of the press shoe of the other roller and being able to be supported thereon. This gives the radially flexible support devices additional guidance. In addition, a three-dimensional deformation of the roller jacket of the pressure roller is avoided in the area between the press shoe and the roller jacket support, because by rolling off the flexible support devices on the shoe of the counter-roller, the support devices are deformed in the same way as the roller jacket in the area of the shoe of the pressure roller. The counter roll can be provided with rigid support devices for its roll shell without excessive deformation of the roll shell occurring.
According to another embodiment of the invention, both rollers each have a radially flexible support device for an axial end region of their roller shell, these support devices being provided at opposite axial ends of the two rollers and in each case one axial end region of the shoe opposite the other roller and being able to be supported thereon are. The respective other supporting devices of the two rollers can be designed as rigid clamping disks. This asymmetrical jacket support also results in very low roll jacket deformation, but essentially both rolls are constructed in the same way and can have the same width. In addition, the width of the press nip is larger here.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, two rollers are provided, each having a radially flexible support device for both axial end regions of the roll shell, the support devices being arranged opposite one another in pairs. In this embodiment, the support devices roll on each other and thus also ensure a low jacket deformation. In addition, the two rollers are essentially identical.
A rim with an air-filled tube in particular is preferably provided as the radially flexible support device. This is structurally inexpensive and enables the radial flexibility of the support device to be adjusted by changing the pressure in the hose.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, a tab clamping can be provided on the rim.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, the diameter of the rim is variable. For this purpose, elements of the rim are preferably radially displaceable. By changing the rim diameter, the contact pressure of the hose on the counter roller and thereby the flexibility and deformation of the roller shell can be adjusted.
To facilitate assembly, an additional sealing hose can be provided in the hose according to a further embodiment of the invention.
The roller jacket and hose are preferably connected to one another in a form-fitting manner, the hose in particular its support side is provided with grooves extending in the circumferential direction, in which corresponding elevations engage on the inside of the roll shell. This configuration creates a firm connection between the hose and the roll shell, which withstands the heavy loads during the deformation of the hose during operation of the roll. In addition, this configuration increases the connection area, so that the strength of the connection is also increased when the roller jacket and hose are bonded.
According to further embodiments of the invention, eccentric tensioning disks can be provided as inflexible supporting devices and a shoe can be arranged asymmetrically in at least one roller. In addition, the two rollers preferably have essentially the same diameter as one another.

The shoe press shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 comprises a
To support the two axial end regions of the
As shown in Fig. 1, the two
The two shoes 6 and 8 of the two
In the exemplary embodiment shown, a paper web 21 is guided through the press nip 20 formed between the two
In the operation of the shoe press shown, a three-dimensional bending deformation of the
In the further variants of the invention shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the
In contrast to the first variant, however, in the variant of the invention shown in FIG. 3, only the
In particular, the width of the
In contrast to the first variant, the deformation of the
In the third variant shown in FIG. 4, the two
Fig. 5 shows a detail of Fig. 1, from which it can be seen that the
The radially flexible, in particular elastic, support of the
It is important to design the roll shell support according to the invention in particular when using a so-called flat nip, that is to say with two cooperating press shoes 6, 8 with a flat,
