Description

The present invention relates to a mechanism for chairs, in particular office swivel chairs, with a gas spring and an arrangement for height adjustment and with synchronously adjustable inclination of the seat and backrest, for which purpose a gas spring is also used. Depending on the previous switch position, the current chair position can be locked or unlocked by actuating the tilt adjustment arrangement. If the locking of the inclination adjustment is released, you can change the position of the backrest within an adjustment range by shifting your body weight, whereby the seat follows synchronously. With chairs equipped in this way, you can move from a forward-inclined position ( writing position), through a middle position ( basic position ), to a backward-inclined position ( relax position).

To realize the synchronous movement between the seat and the backrest are several within the chair mechanics Articulated connections provided. To the movement of the Optimizing synchronous movement and overlapping to the gas spring It is also possible to set a preload an actuating device is provided with a helical compression spring. The entire chair mechanism is below the seat arranged, the user seated access to the actuators for all control functions. In the conception the local chair was given special attention to one easy assembly and disassembly.

Furthermore, the present invention relates to the constructive Composition of a backrest and a seat shell in interaction with design features on upholstery for the backrest and the seat shell for mutual Fixation.

Stand der TechnikState of the art

Mechanisms for swivel chairs with a synchronization of the Sequence of movements between the seat and the backrest where Ergonomically adequate positioning for every backrest inclination the seat is assigned are already in multiples Copies known (e.g. CH-A-629 945, CH-A-524 982, DE-C-29 40 250, DE-A-39 16 474, US-A-4 408 800, EP-B-0 592 369, WO 83/00610). The more modern constructions also allow the seat and backrest to be inclined forward to move forward when working on a table flexed posture of the user, i.e. the underside of the thigh resting on the seat relieve pressure and effectively support the back area.

These new synchronous mechanisms correct the formerly unhealthy sitting posture. By the arrangement of the different axes of rotation within the synchronous mechanism a weight-based control is created. A such synchronous mechanism is known from AU-B-581 120. An articulated strap extends from the seat support to the seat shell, considering their articulation point on the seat shell towards the front of the seat shell - before the pivot point lies on the seat support. Through the cross connection to The backrest takes on the front section with increasing load the seat shell also the supporting contact pressure of the Backrest against the user's hip area too.

With the constructive further development of the chair mechanics these are increasingly complex to manufacture and assemble become what an ever increasing cost led. The chair mechanics that existed up to now require considerable assembly effort with numerous screw, Riveted and welded connections. Furthermore stands today environmentally friendly disposal of used products in the Foreground. For the local area it follows that Chairs to be disposed of are not only installed rationally should be able to, but they should also be as inexpensive as possible and be completely disassembled into their parts to make them Recycle or dispose of components in an ecologically sound manner to be able to. Today's chair mechanics as complex structures, which is tedious with expertise and equipment can be dismantled, thus meet the requirements of an ecological Elimination hardly do justice.

Backrests and seat shells as well as the associated backrests and Seat cushions are currently firmly connected e.g. glued on, clamped or framed. Another type of fastening is tying. In particular the first-mentioned fastening method is for the user often disadvantageous or assembly-intensive in production and later prepares when separating, depending on the design, more trouble.

Aufgabe der ErfindungObject of the invention

Given the aforementioned drawbacks with which today's Chair mechanics are still affected, the invention based on the problem of improved chair mechanics to create which of their basic structure possible is inexpensive and which can be rationally operated in the Series production can produce cost-effectively. Further should the chair mechanics to be proposed by a feature long functionality and if necessary enable uncomplicated service. Finally should a disused chair mechanics with little Time expenditure and without special manual skills as well as equipment would be necessary, completely in their Have individual parts disassembled. All the advantages and conveniences of modern chair mechanics, however, must Keep users.

Another object of the invention is the fastenings between the backrest cushion and the backrest as well as between the seat cushion and the seat shell for the Simplify assembly and disassembly while at the same time User-friendly in terms of easy removability to design.

Wesen der ErfindungEssence of the invention

The chair mechanism consists of two housing shells, which together form the seat support, the seat support on the conical tip of the vertically arranged gas spring - this is intended for height adjustment - touches down. Both Housing shells are screwed together. Between the Housing shells are the operating levers for the height and Inclination adjustment, the gas spring for the inclination Coil spring for the bias of the slope and the two front link plates for connection to the seat shell inserted flexibly. Furthermore, are between the two housing shells the two extending under the seat shell Foothills of the backrest articulated. On the other hand, they are Articulated brackets hooked into the bottom of the seat shell A rotatable connector also exists between the both extensions of the backrest and the seat shell.

At least one extends from the seat support to the seat shell articulated link on both sides with two axes of rotation; preferably two link plates are provided. The hinge plates run obliquely ascending to the front, whereby the axis of rotation between the hinge plates and the seat shell of the front edge the seat shell is closer than the axis of rotation between the hinged straps and the seat support.

The two housing shells are preferably made of die-cast aluminum, while the operating levers, the socket the coil spring, the hinged straps, the seat shell and the backrest are one-piece molded plastic parts.

The backrest cushion can be pushed onto the backrest and is by means of a clip that can be clipped into the backrest and Velcro fasteners. Also quick The seat cushion is detachably attached to the seat shell. The Seat cushion has a cushion core - usually made of foam and a cover that surrounds it. On the edges of the cover a film hinge is provided, which folded over the wedge-shaped side edge of the seat shell reaches under, which fixes the seat cushion on the seat shell becomes. With additional, detachable fastening elements the seat cushion is held on the seat shell.

Thanks to the invention, there is now a relatively simple chair mechanism available in large numbers efficient manufacturing costs with rational assembly - i.e. mainly plug connections and only a few Screw connections - can be made. The chair mechanics ensures a long service life, allows an uncomplicated Service and offers the user all the advantages of modern synchronous mechanisms, including a negative tendency forward for the writing position. The requirement after ecological disposal of used products the chair mechanics, apart from those used Materials and technologies, just because the mechanics in a short amount of time, with simple Tools and uncomplicated handles completely can be disassembled into its individual parts. So that can Components of the chair mechanics and thus the entire chair, as Secondary raw materials recycled or environmentally friendly to be disposed of.

The backrest and seat cushions can now be attached to the backrest or attached to the seat shell quickly and easily and by these are removed again.

Figuren 1A bis 1CFigures 1A to 1C

In principle, the chair consists of the star-shaped base frame 4 , the seat shell 3 , the backrest 2 and the chair mechanism 1 . A centrally arranged, vertically rising center column 40 extends from the base frame 4 and contains the gas spring 5 for the height adjustment. The gas spring 5 is therefore also referred to as gas spring height. 5 The seat support 10 belonging to the chair mechanism 1 is attached to the upper conical end of the extendable piston rod 50 of the vertical gas spring 5 . Both the seat shell 3 and the backrest 2 can be covered with a seat or backrest cushion.

Two angled arms 20 extend from the backrest 2 to below the seat shell 3 towards the rear part of the seat support 10 , the front extensions 21 of which are articulated on the seat support 10 , thereby forming an axis of rotation D1 . A claw 22, which is half-open at the top, is arranged on the arms 20 and, complementarily to this, are located below the seat shell 3 , on the rear side thereof, pins 30 which are articulated in the claws 22 , as a result of which the axis of rotation D2 is formed here.

A helical spring 11 , which is inserted into a spring holder 110 , engages on the rear part of the seat support 10 . The coil spring 11 is supported upwards against the seat shell 3 . The preload of the helical spring 11 can be adjusted with a worm gear 12 , the worm gear 12 having a shaft 121 leading outwards to a rotary knob 120 . The extendable lifting rod 60 of a gas spring 6 is pivotally attached to the seat support 10 for the inclination, which results in an axis of rotation D3 here. This gas spring 6 is therefore referred to as inclination spring. 6 On the other hand, the tilt gas spring 6 is articulated at the bottom of the seat shell 3 in the axis of rotation D4 . It is also possible to combine the axes of rotation D4 and D5 .

Figur 1C).At the bottom of the front of the seat shell 3 are two mutually spaced, downwardly open claws 13 , in each of which a hinge bracket 14 is suspended, which here form the axis of rotation D5 and extend to the seat support 10 , where they are also articulated, namely in the axis of rotation D6 . An actuating lever 15 - which is fixed in an axis of rotation D7 - leads from one side of the seat support 10 to the valve rod 51 protruding from the vertical gas spring 5 (see FIG. 1B). From the other side of the seat support 10 , a shift lever 16 - which is fixed in an axis of rotation D8 - leads to the valve rod 61 protruding from the inclination gas spring 6 (see FIG. 1C ).

The link plates 14 extend obliquely upwards, the axis of rotation D5 between the link plates 14 and the seat shell 3 being closer to the front tongue part 31 of the seat shell 3 (see FIG. 2A) than the axis of rotation D6 , which is between the link plates 14 and the Seat support 10 is located. In this way, a quasi weight-dependent control is implemented; if the load on the tongue part 31 increases, the supporting contact pressure of the backrest 2 against the hip region of the user increases.

The following definition applies to the entire further description. Are in a figure for the sake of graphic clarity Reference numbers included, but in the immediately associated Descriptive text not explained, so is on their Mention in previous figure descriptions reference taken. In the interest of clarity, the repeated designation of components in subsequent figures mostly dispensed with, provided that it is clearly recognizable in the drawing is that they are "recurring" components.

Figuren 2B und 2CFigures 2B and 2C

The seat support 10 consists of a lower plate-like housing base 17 and a housing cover 18 which can be placed thereon. A receptacle 170 for inserting the spring holder 110 is provided in the center on the housing base 17 . Approximately centrally in the housing base 17 there is a conical through hole 171 into which the upper conical end of the piston rod 50 of the vertical gas spring 5 can be inserted. At the front of the housing base 17 is a bearing recess 172 , which serves to receive the transverse pin 62 present on the lifting rod 60 of the tilt gas spring 6 . A bearing cover 19 is provided for closing the bearing recess 172 .

Between the housing base 17 and the housing cover 18 are rotatably inserted and held in their axes of rotation, the rear extensions 21 of the two arms 20 of the backrest 2 , approximately in the middle of the actuating lever 15 and the shift lever 16 , and the two articulated brackets 14 at the front.

In the fork-like claw 22 present on each arm 20 there is a bearing bore 220 which is accessible upwards through an inlet constriction 221 . Complementary to the contour of the bearing bore 220 and the inlet constriction 221 , the pins 30 on the seat shell 3 have a bolt 300 . There is a cross-sectional taper 301 on the bolt 300 , which is created by two-sided parallel flattening. If you look vertically at the flats, the bolt 300 has its full cross-section. In this way, the bolt 300 can only be inserted or removed from the bearing bore 220 with the aligned cross-sectional taper 301 through the inlet constriction 221 . After the backrest 2 and thus the claws 22 have been rotated, the full cross section of the pin 30 comes to the entry constriction 221 . Now the pin 30 is rotatably fixed in the claw 22 .

The same principle is used for hanging the articulated brackets 14 into the claws 13 present on the seat shell 3 . Here, too, the claws 13 have a bearing bore 130 which is accessible through an inlet constriction 131 which is open at the bottom. Complementary to this is the associated crossbar 140 on the articulated straps 14 . The crossbar 140 has a cross-sectional taper 141 , which is created by two-sided parallel flattening. When viewed perpendicularly to the flats, the cross bar 140 has its full cross section. Thus, the cross bar 140 can only be inserted with the aligned cross-sectional taper 141 through the entry constriction 131 into the bearing bore 130 of the fork-shaped claws 13 . After twisting of the joint bar 14 of the full cross-sectional unit of the cross bar 140 at the inlet constriction 131, whereby in this rotational position, the hinge strap 14 in the pawl 13 is rotatably supported.

Preferably, both the operating lever 15 and the shift lever 16 are in one piece; both have a handle 150, 160 . The handles 150, 160 can be grasped by the user below the seat shell 3 , since they protrude from the closed seat support 10 . At the handle pieces 150,160 each connects a rod section 151,161 , and first of all on the relevant rod section 151,161 a switching lug 152,162 is provided. The rotatable levers 15 , 16 are embedded with their rod sections 151, 161 between the housing base 17 and the housing cover 18 , for this purpose there are concave bearing recesses 173 in the housing base 17 and complementary concave bearing recesses 183 in the housing cover 18 .

The rod sections 151 , 161 of the actuating lever 15 and the switching lever 16 are diametrically opposite in the seat carrier 10 . When operating the actuating lever 15 , its switching lug 152 presses on the valve rod 51 of the vertical gas spring 5 . When the switching lever 16 is operated, its switching lug 162 presses on the valve rod 61 of the tilt gas spring 6 . The rotatable attachment of the tilt gas spring 6 on the axis of rotation D4 is formed on the one hand by an eyelet 63 on the tilt gas spring 6 and on the other hand by a bearing pin 33 below the seat shell 3 , the eye 63 hanging on the bearing pin 33 .

Korrespondierend zu den Lagerkehlen 174 in der Gehäusebasis 17 gibt es Lagerkehlen 184 im Gehäusedeckel 18.A round cross pin 142 is provided on each joint bracket 14 parallel to the cross bar 140 . Cross bar 140 and cross pin 142 are enclosed by two parallel outer plates 143 , each of which is perpendicular. Round cross pins 210 are located on the extensions 21 of the backrest 2 . To mount the cross bolts 142 of the articulated brackets 14 and the cross pins 210 from the arms 20 of the backrest 2 and to form the axes of rotation D1 and D6 , semicircular bearing grooves 174 are provided on the housing base 17 at the rear and front. Corresponding to the bearing grooves 174 in the housing base 17, there are bearing grooves 184 in the housing cover 18 .

Beneath the seat shell 3 there is a receiving contour 34 for fastening the support rods 70 of the armrests 7 which are brought up from both sides. There is an external thread 700 at the upwardly projecting end of the support rod 70 , so that a height-adjustable support sleeve 71 can be screwed onto it. A backrest support 72 can be screwed into the support sleeve 71 and onto the external thread 700 , the correct screwing depth of which is determined by the position of the support sleeve 71 . The armrest 73 is placed on the backrest support 72 . Furthermore, the seat shell 3 , aligned with the helical spring 11 , has a through hole 35 so that the threaded spindle 122 of the worm gear 12 can pass through. The shaft 121 of the worm gear 12 exits at the opening 320 in the seat shell 3 . The rotary knob 120 can be snapped onto the protruding end of the shaft 121 .

Bei Bedienung des Betätigungshebels 15 drückt die Schaltnase 152 auf die herausragende Ventilstange 51 der Höhengasfeder 5.Here, the inner spatial structures of the housing base 17 and the housing cover 18 are shown, which are often crossed by raised ribs. The through hole 171 through the base floor 175 for inserting the conical end of the piston rod 50 of the vertical gas spring 5 continues as a vertically extending pipe socket 1710 . The switching lug 152 of the inserted actuating lever 15 is located above the pipe socket 1710 and into the through bore 171 . When operating the actuating lever 15 , the switching lug 152 presses on the projecting valve rod 51 of the vertical gas spring 5 .

The beveled receptacle 170 behind it for inserting the spring socket 110 is arranged in an extension 1700 on the rear side of the housing base 17 . On the outer edge of the extension 1700 there is a parallel web 1701 with an opening 1702 in front of the web 1701 and in the bottom of the receptacle 170 . Complementary to this, there is a groove 1101 and a latch 1102 on the bottom of the sleeve-shaped spring socket 110 . When inserted, the pawl 1102 engages around the web 1701 and hooks in the groove 1101 .

In front of the through hole 171 and the pipe socket 1710 , the bearing recess 172 for receiving the transverse pin 62 of the tilt gas spring 6 is located in a V-shaped incision. The bearing recess 172 is formed by raised ribs, which form a rectangle that is open at the top. In the front rib 1720 is a breakthrough in 1721, which extends up to the base bottom 175, the lift rod 60 to the transverse pin 62 and the valve rod 61 hang from the top and to permit the vertical pivoting of the pneumatic inclination spring. 6 Suspended, the cross pin 62 engages behind the front rib 1720 . In the rear rib 1722 there is also an opening 1723 which allows the valve rod 61 to protrude, against which the switching lug 162 presses when the switching lever 16 is operated. The bearing cover 19 can be inserted from above into the bearing recess 172 and is fixed, for example, by means of screws. At the bottom of the bearing cover 19 there are two hollowed-out press ridges 190 which surround the cross pin 62 and thus hold the suspended inclination gas spring 6 in position.

The bearing recesses 173 for placing the rod sections 151 , 161 of the actuating lever 15 and the switching lever 16 are formed by concave contours on the ribs which extend through the housing base 17 . The bearing grooves 174 for hooking in the front link plates 14 and rear extensions 21 of the arms 20 of the backrest 2 are located in tongues 176 , which protrude in pairs on the front and rear of the housing base 17 . In each bearing groove 174 there is a raised fixing web 1740 which follows the concave course of the bearing groove 174 in the center . The round cross bolts 142 within the joint plates 14 have a radially circumferential fixing groove 1420 complementary to the fixing web 1740 . The cross pins 210 in the extensions 21 of the arms 20 also have such fixing grooves 2100. As a result, the hinged link plates 14 and the arms 20 are held in a stable lateral position. The seat support 10 facing ends of the plates 143 of the joint plates 14 have tapered bevels 1430, in order to have during pivoting of the joint plates 14 sufficiently match.

Analogous to the tongues 176 with the bearing grooves 174 and the fixing webs 1740 in the housing base 17 , tongues 186 with bearing grooves 184 and fixing webs 1840 are present on the housing cover 18 . Likewise corresponding to the bearing recesses 173 in the housing base 17 , the housing cover 18 has bearing recesses 183 for embedding the rod sections 151 , 161 of the actuating lever 15 or the switching lever 16 . Here, too, the bearing recesses 183 are formed by concave contours on the ribs extending through the housing cover 18 .

The housing base 17 and the housing cover 18 which can be fitted appropriately are congruent in their shape. In order to be able to screw the two parts 17 , 18 together to form the seat support 10 , mutually complementary bores 177 , 187 are provided in the parts 17 , 18 . Screwed and completed state, two leading to the seating shell 3 hinge plates 14, the branches 21 of the backrest 2 and the operating lever 15 and the lever 16 are rotatably supported in the seat support 10 degrees. In the housing base 17 , the tilt gas spring 6 is rotatably suspended under the bearing cover 19 , while the spring holder 110 with the helical spring 11 inserted therein hangs in the receptacle 170 .

Figur 3CFigure 3C

The helical spring 11 seated in the spring socket 110 serves to support the action of the inclination gas spring 6 and for the pretensioning, the hardness of which can be adjusted by means of the worm gear 12 . The worm gear 12 is formed by the externally graspable rotary knob 120 , the shaft 121 extending between the rotary knob 120 and gear 123 , the threaded spindle 122 extending from the gear 123 to a pressure disc 124 and a counter disc 125 . The thrust washer 124 sits on top of the coil spring 11 and is penetrated by the threaded spindle 122 . The gearwheel 123 and the counter disk 125 are seated on the threaded spindle 122 , which penetrates the bottom of the seat pan 3 , the gear wheel 123 being positioned above the seat pan 3 and the counter disk 125 below the seat pan 3 . On the shaft 121 there is a worm section 1210 , which is in engagement with the gear 123 .

When the rotary knob 120 is actuated, the gearwheel 123 and with it the threaded spindle 122 are rotated, as a result of which the pressure disk 124 moves up or down, depending on the direction of rotation. Thus, the coil spring 11 is compressed or relaxed more. The set pressure of the coil spring 11 acts from the counter disc 125 on the seat shell 3 and thus forms a corresponding resistance for the synchronous inclination of the seat shell 3 and the backrest 2 .

The backrest cushion 9 is intended to be pulled over the backrest 2 . For this purpose, the slit 23 and the seat cushion 8 are facing the center and near the upper edge of the backrest 2 and 2 Velcro strips 24 are arranged near the lower edge of the backrest.

The backrest cushion 9 has a cover 90 , a filling 91 and a plate 92 on the back . On the back 93 there is a pocket 94 in the cover 90 , which begins approximately at half the height and extends to the upper edge 95 , the backrest 2 being insertable into this pocket 94 . In the pocket 94 , a strip-shaped suspension bracket 96 is arranged vertically and in the center of the backrest 2 , the lower leg 960 of the suspension bracket 96 protruding from the pocket 94 , that is to say protruding from under the pocket edge 940 . The mounting bracket 96 attached to the plate 92 has a double-angled horizontal piece 961 , to which the upper leg 962 and the lower leg 960 are connected. Beneath the pocket 94 there are attached Velcro strips 97 complementary to the Velcro strips 24 present on the backrest 2 .

When the backrest cushion 9 is pulled over the backrest 2 , the latter is pushed into the pocket 94 and at the same time the suspension bracket 96 with its lower leg 960 is inserted through the slot 23 . In the finished state, the upper edge of the backrest 2 is practically pushed into the pocket 94 up to the upper edge 95 . The horizontal piece 961 of the Einhängebügels 96 extends through the slot 23, and the pairs of Velcro strips 24,97 have combined.

The seat shell 3 has a front, downwardly bent tongue part 31 and a laterally beginning, rearward rising outer edge 32 . An opening 320 is provided in the lateral outer edge 32 for the passage of the shaft 121 leading to the worm gear 12 and the rotary knob 120 . The outer edge 32 terminates at the top with a circumferential, outwardly directed bead 321 , which has a hooking-in edge 322 that can be gripped. The bead 321 begins set back from the tongue part 31 , so that flat edge sections 323 remain at the front. The bead 321 is interrupted laterally in the area of an elongated hole 324 which extends from above into the outer edge 32 . The flat edge sections 322 before inserting the bead 320 can be omitted. There may also be more than two elongated holes 323 on the outer edge 32 .

The seat cushion 8 has an outer cover 80 and an inner filling 81 . The cover 80 has a passage 800 on the side in order to enclose the rotary knob 120 . On edges 801 of the cover 80 - except for the area of the tongue part 31 of the seat shell 3 - a film hinge tape 82 is attached internally, for example sewn on. The film hinge band 82 which runs around three sides of the cover 80 consists of a support strip 822 and a fixing strip 823 which are connected to one another by the film hinge 824 .

To fasten the seat cushion 8 in the seat shell 3 , the reference edges 801 provided with the film hinge band 82 are pulled over the outer edge 32 with the bulge 321 pointing outwards and the hanging edge 322 . The two hooks 820 are hung on the flat edge sections 323 and the locking heads 821 of the film hinge strap 82 are pressed into the elongated holes 324 . The fixing strip 823 is then bent vertically inwards - quasi hammered in - so that the fixing strip 823 engages under the hanging edge 322 . The hooks 820 prevent the entire seat cushion 8 from slipping, while the pressed-in latching heads 821 cause the reference edges 801 with the film hinge tape 82 to be pulled toward the outer edge 32 of the seat shell 3 and thus prevent the fixing strip 823 from jumping off the hanging edge 322 .

This sequence of figures illustrates the different Positions that the user occupies on a chair can, which is equipped with the inventive mechanism 1 is.

The desired height of the chair can take place only when the operation lever 15 is pressed and thus the stroke length of the vertical pneumatic spring 5 is variable. Usually, when the actuating lever 15 and the relieved seat shell 3 are pressed, the latter is raised to the maximum height. If the seat shell 3 is loaded and the actuating lever 15 is pressed, the seat shell 3 is lowered to the lowest position.

With the synchronous movement between the seat shell 3 and the backrest 2 , you have the choice between two switching states. In the first switching state, the current position is locked, ie the tilt gas spring 6 is blocked. When the switching lever 16 is actuated, the locking of the inclination gas spring 6 is released and the user can shift the entire weight between the forward-inclined writing position (according to FIG. 6C), the middle basic position (according to FIG. 6A) and the backward-inclined position Take the relax position (according to Fig. 6B) with the chair. When the shift lever 16 is operated again, the current position is locked again.

If the tilt gas spring 6 is in the free switching state and the user exerts sufficient pressure against the backrest 2 , a movement takes place in all axes of rotation D1 to D6 . With the shifting axis of rotation D2 , the axes of rotation D4, D5 are also displaced via the seat shell 3 and thus the link plates 14 and the inclination gas spring 6 are erected or lowered more. If the user puts more weight on the tongue part 31 , the quasi weight-dependent control acts, ie with increasing load on the tongue part 31 , the supporting contact pressure of the backrest 2 against the hip area of the user increases. The position of the rotary axes D1 and D6 on the rigid seat support 10 does not change; only the cross pins 210 of the moving backrest 2 and the cross bolts 142 of the joint straps 14 rotate therein.
