Die der Erfindung zugrundeliegende Aufgabe besteht in einer schonenden und sicheren Überführung der in einer einlagigen Reihe zugeförderten Artikel in einen mehrlagigen Artikelstrom.
Gemäß der Erfindung wird dies dadurch erreicht, daß die Geschwindigkeiten der auf getrennten Bahnen in Teilreihen geförderten Artikel vermindert und die Artikel anschließend zur Bildung des Stromes in mehreren Schichten übereinandergelegt und abgefördert werden.
Weitere vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen und Weiterbildungen der Erfindung sind den untergeordneten Verfahrensansprüchen zu entnehmen.
