Claims (7)

  1. Method for controlling the cutting off of a motor vehicle starter according to which the supply voltage to this starter is measured and the starter is cut off when this voltage reaches a threshold value (Uf), characterised in that this threshold value is a function of the value (U0) of the supply voltage at the beginning of starting.
  2. Method according to Claim 1, characterised in that the supply voltage U0 at the beginning of starting is the voltage of the battery before any voltage drop.
  3. Method according to Claim 2, characterised in that the threshold value is a voltage value Uf which corresponds to k.U0, where k ≤ 1.
  4. Device for controlling the cutting off of a motor vehicle starter having means (7) for measuring the starter supply voltage, and means (9) of comparing the value thus measured with a threshold voltage value (Uf), characterised in that it has means for storing the value of the voltage measured at the beginning of starting, the threshold value being a function of the value (U0) of the supply voltage at the beginning of starting.
  5. Device according to Claim 4, characterised in that the supply voltage U0 at the beginning of starting is the voltage of the battery before any voltage drop.
  6. Device according to Claim 5, characterised in that the threshold value is a voltage value Uf which corresponds to k.U0 where k ≤ 1.
  7. Device according to one of Claims 4 to 6, characterised in that it has a unit (4) which controls a contactor which itself controls the supply to the starter (D), the said control unit (4) being connected on the one hand to a supply terminal (B+) of the starter (D) and on the other hand to a contactor (6) actuated by the ignition key.
