Description
- isoler chimiquement le moule du métal liquide lors de la coulée, de manière à éviter toute adhérence et permettre la séparation ultérieure moule-pièce métallique ;
- assurer une rupture thermique entre le moule et la pièce. Si cette fonction n'est pas remplie, le moule métallique va, au cours des coulées successives, subir des contraintes thermiques telles que sa destruction interviendra prématurément. La rupture thermique ne doit pas toutefois être telle que le refroidissement de la pièce soit compromis et qu'ainsi la solidification intervienne tardivement. Il y a donc un équilibre délicat à réaliser.

Claims (8)
- Procédé d'obtention d'un revêtement isolant pour moule métallique destiné à la coulée de métaux ferreux, notamment par coulée centrifuge, comprenant l'application sur la surface du moule d'au moins un revêtement primaire, destiné à y demeurer de façon permanente, et l'application d'un revêtement secondaire sur le revêtement primaire, ledit revêtement secondaire étant renouvelé totalement ou partiellement à chaque opération de coulée, et caractérisé en ce que ledit revêtement secondaire comporte du métakaolin.
- Procédé selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que ledit revêtement secondaire est constitué essentiellement par du métakaolin.
- Procédé selon la revendication 1 ou 2, caractérisé en ce que le revêtement primaire est également constitué essentiellement par du métakaolin.
- Procédé de réalisation d'un revêtement isolant pour moule métallique, selon la revendication 3, caractérisé en ce que :a) on prépare une poudre de métakaolin, à partir de kaolin que l'on purifie, puis que l'on calcine entre 750 et 950°C pendant environ une 1 heure ;b) on réalise un mélange de cette poudre de métakaolin et de silicate de soude présentant sensiblement la même granulométrie, et on pulvérise ce mélange sur la surface nue et préalablement chauffée dudit moule métallique entre 300 et 400°C, de manière à obtenir un revêtement primaire, d'une épaisseur généralement comprise entre 50 et 100 microns ;c) on réalise une suspension de métakaolin dans le l'eau avec une concentration en poids comprise entre 25 % et 35 %, puis on pulvérise cette suspension sur le revêtement primaire, de manière à obtenir un revêtement secondaire, d'une épaisseur généralement comprise entre 50 et 100 microns.
- Moule métallique revêtu d'un revêtement isolant obtenu par la mise en oeuvre du procédé selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 4.
- Utilisation d'un moule métallique selon la revendication 5 pour la coulée de métaux ferreux.
- Utilisation d'un moule métallique selon la revendication 5, pour la fabrication de pièces métalliques, par coulée de métaux ferreux dans ledit moule.
- Utilisation d'un moule métallique selon la revendication 5, pour la fabrication de pièces métalliques destinées à l'industrie automobile, notamment de pièces en fonte à structures perlitiques brutes de coulée.
