Definitions
- the invention relates to a method according to the preamble of claim 1 and a device according to the preamble of claim 3.
- a generic type of delivery device in which a hollow cylindrical distribution unit is ejected axially in advance in the direction of flight by means of a pyrotechnic charge above the barrier area from the carrier projectile while its ogive is being blasted off. A brake screen unfolds for the distribution unit. A further pyrotechnic charge is then activated in order to eject the full-caliber submunitions backwards, that is, counter to the direction of movement, by removing the brake screen articulated there from the distribution unit.
- the coaxial mine stack which is thereby braked relative to the movement of the distribution unit, is then to be released from its aerodynamically stable composite by successively opening mine screens, by means of which the individual mines are braked independently of one another and sink into the restricted area.
- mine screens by means of which the individual mines are braked independently of one another and sink into the restricted area.
- Such a system is not expected to work collision-free. Because even the braking parachute for the distribution unit is at risk of collision due to the carrier projectile flying quickly behind it; and pushing back out of the distribution unit does not guarantee trouble-free opening of the individual mine screens for separating the composite stack. In addition, it will hardly be possible in practice to be able to use the screen for separating the stack even for braking sufficiently to safely descend into the terrain. Finally, the use of a separate distribution unit within the delivery carrier reduces the submunition payload.
- Such axial or radial discharge of the payloads initiated by a pyrotechnic ejection charge is not readily applicable for reasons of strength when it comes to very massive objects to be moved, such as. B. fog pots or larger submunitions, and in particular the so-called surface defense mines, which are positioned in the operational area oriented (see GB 2 219 651 A), in order to approach a potential target z. B. from a directional container to start an active body in the manner of a search fuse submunition, as described in GB 2 174 482 A by way of example.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of further developing the generic measures in such a way that even such critical payloads can be released functionally reliably from a movement projectile over the site.
- the solution according to the invention is thus characterized both in terms of the method and also with regard to the device for moving large-caliber payloads in that the activation of stabilization elements for a payload space which is separated from the rear and has become aerodynamically unstable thereby takes place with a delay, uni an early one with which Avoiding the increase in volume associated with the braking process until the separated rear engine has flown past the payload space spinning off the track in an aerodynamically stable manner. After that, brake sails can be issued (see US Pat. No.
- a lift-off charge first ensures a rapid increase in the differential speed between the load space and the rocket motor blasted off it, so that the directionally stable motor does not remain in the slipstream of the load space, but rather the load space is collision-free can swing out of the still stable trajectory of the engine and is already effectively braked by the resulting cross-flow. Then, by separating the ogive in front of the load area, a brake parachute is released, which is attached to the forehead of the load area with a relatively short twist line and is now used for further slowing down and for a new alignment of the load area - without risk of collision with regard to the separated and already to the side engine flown past - can unfold.
- the screen will orient the rear of the load area, which originally points against the flight direction, in a stable direction in the direction of flight, whereupon a cover is separated and the load area envelope is now pulled off the submunition stack, the direction of which is opposite, due to the effect of the brake screen.
- the negative pressure that arises in the load area is shaped by an extension aid of a gas generator, as is customary in a motor vehicle airbag, not only compensated, but preferably even overcompensated, in order to overcome those forces preventing extension, in support of the umbrella tractive force.
- the gas generator can be inserted in an inflatable gas bag, the deployment of which slides out of the submunition stack from the Load space supports ⁇ But if the inflation behavior of the locked gas bag is critical in terms of time or geometry, then a piston-like pressure distribution plate behind the parachute chamber of the submunition to be pushed out last out of the load space is more appropriate. So that the plate stands out reliably and then the parachute chamber can be opened, the plate remains tied to the load space by means of an eccentrically acting line.
- This restraint can also serve as a holder for a pull-out line, which opens a small pilot glider behind the last submunition of the stack that is pushed forward in the direction of flight in order to separate this rearmost submunition from the stack - and then a corresponding pull-out line from the settling one Tighten submunition to the pilot screen at the last element of the remaining submunition stack, etc.
- care must be taken that they do not exceed the sum of the axial height and the diameter of a submunition, because otherwise after the separation from the flying pilot parachute a knotting with your own rear pilot parachute and thereby a disturbance of the further parachute releases could occur.
- pyrotechnically shearing or bursting open connections can be used, such as those from EP 0 323 839 A2 or from DE 39 01 882 A1 (even if they are designed for other functions); or detonating cords or cutting charges encircling the hollow cylindrical inner lateral surface lead to the breaking open of predetermined breaking points (which as such is not the subject of the present invention).
- the transition area between the ogive and the load area is subjected to strong bending stresses because the ogive-load area combination that has already been separated from the rocket rear engine laterally from the previous ballistic trajectory the rocket swings out (Fig. 3) and experiences a strong cross-flow. Nevertheless, it must be ensured that the ogive reliably stands out from the forehead of the load area, and that the clamping of the brake parachute coupled to the load space is not hindered.
- this is achieved in that a separable connection in the form of a coaxial cylinder guide is provided between the load-bearing ogive construction and a load area end plate, the frictional engagement of which must be overcome by the reaction gas pressure of a repulsion charge for the separation process.
- the projectile outlined in the flow diagram of FIG. 1 for moving a large-caliber payload is an artillery missile 11, for example for moving at least one so-called surface defense mine as a payload or submunition 12 into their operational area 113, a potential combat area to be blocked against the passage of armored vehicles.
- the rocket 13 which can be launched from a mobile launcher 114, is equipped with a stabilizing tail unit 27 at the rear end of its rear engine 17. The spends the rocket 13 during only a brief pushing period in a ballistic trajectory 26 over the operational area 113.
- the hollow cylindrical payload space 19 extends for receiving e.g. at least one mine to be ejected above the deployment site 113 in the manner of submunition 12.
- the payload space 19 is filled by two full-caliber such mines 12, which are arranged coaxially one behind the other.
- transition portion 121 a dividing charge in the form of a peripheral on the hollow cylinder inner wall 1 around radially outwardly acting cutting charge provided as a separator 16; So practically a ring of explosives lying radially against the inner surface of the hollow cylinder with a circumferential acute-angled, radially outward opening V-shaped insert.
- the tail section 18 continues to fly with the motor 17 due to the stabilizing effect of its tail unit 27 essentially on the current ballistic trajectory 26.
- the payload space 19 separated therefrom is now aerodynamically unstable and therefore carries out oscillating movements, with the inevitable consequence of an oblique and transverse flow, so that this separated front region of the rocket 13 leaves the previous trajectory 26.
- no additional aerodynamic braking means are released in order to keep the cross-section of the payload space 19 separated from the motor 17 and emerging from its path 26 as small as possible until the motor 17 has passed it along its stable path 26 without collisions.
- an (electronic or pyrotechnic) delay element is started which, with a sufficient safety margin on the payload space 19 emerging from the flight path 26, only releases aerodynamic braking means when it is to be expected that the rear part 18 with the engine 17 has long since flown past on payload area 19 on track 26.
- the aerodynamic braking means is a brake chimney 23, which is connected to the separating area 121, which is open on the front side, with the casing 123 of the payload space 19. It is released, for example, by pyrotechnic blasting off the ogive hood 14, in the connection area of which the shield 23 was folded in to the sheath 123.
- the payload space 19 which is still essentially parallel to the original trajectory 26 but is oriented obliquely to it, is turned so far that the open separation area 121 in Direction of flight points forward. Since the casing 123 is braked strongly as a result of its coupling to the parachute 23 relative to the inertia-related movement of the submunition 12, the submunition 12 now slides in the direction of flight, that is to say out of the front of the payload space 19, and then falls in the direction of the deployment site 113. However, in the interest of a gentle touchdown, this dive is finally slowed down by means of a further parachute, as described in more detail in the previously published prior publication GB 2 219 651 A.
- the delivery device 11 for large-caliber submunitions 12 shown in FIG. 2 is also preferably designed as an artillery missile 13 according to the MLRS / MARS system.
- it contains a timer 15 for initiating a separating device 16 between the rocket motor 17 and the stern 18 of the load chamber 19, which is of the same caliber and axially in front of it, for the transfer of the full-caliber submunitions 12.
- Another separating device 20 is provided in the transition area 21 from the ogive 14 to the load space 19. It serves for the abolition of the constructive connection there, with the release of the brake screen 23 connected to the forehead 22 of the load space 19.
- a separating device 24 can also be provided in the area of the rear of the load compartment 18, in order to remove a rear closure cover 25 and to allow the submunitions 12 to slide out of the load compartment 19 coaxially through the rear 18 which then points in advance.
- a pyrotechnic explosive charge 28 is arranged behind the load compartment rear 18.
- B. is initiated via an ignition line 29 depending on the function of the engine disconnection device 16.
- the reaction gas pressure which builds up very quickly acts between the load chamber rear 18 reinforced by the cover 25 and the hollow cylindrical surrounding, dimensionally stable curvature 30 of the tank 31 of the rocket motor 17 and thus ensures rapid, defined axial lifting between the motor 17 and the load chamber 19. Due to this forced lifting of the load space 19 from the motor 17, the mutual distance quickly becomes large enough for the lateral swiveling out for the collision-free braking process of the load space 19 relative to the motor 17 which continues to fly stably (FIG. 4).
- An ogive separating device 20 is then activated pyrotechnically with a time delay in relation to the function of the motor separating device 16 on the load space 19 still wobbling in free flight.
- the ogive hood 14 should only lift off axially from the load area front end 22 (and thus release the brake screen 23 for deployment, which is coupled to the load area 19 via a swirl line 33) when the motor 17 has already flown past, so that he can no longer collide with the screen 23 which is inflating behind the short line 33 (Fig. 5).
- a repulsion charge 31 - now between ogive 14 and load area forehead 22 - serves to rapidly build up the highest possible relative speed between the two, in order to increase the distance as quickly as possible, so that the ogive 14 does not start with the one that unfolds almost suddenly and thereby braking screen 23 collides.
- the shell 10 of the rocket 13 has a predetermined breaking point which separates when the ogive 14 is lifted off coaxially from an end plate 22 in front of the load space 19.
- This separation process is initiated in a time-controlled manner by firing a low-pressure repulsion charge 31 which then burns uniformly after the load space 19 together with the ogive 14 has lifted off the rocket rear engine 17 and has been swung out sideways from its ballistic path 26, as in the sequence of FIGS. 5 shown.
- the problem is, however, that very large transverse forces 37 act on the composite of ogive 14 and load space 19 from the cross flow. Resulting bending and canting phenomena can hinder the desired separation process to release the parachute 23 stowed in the ogive 14 (for aerodynamic braking and stabilization of the load space 19 for a trouble-free delivery of the submunitions 12).
- the supporting structure 38 in the rear region of the ogive 14 is blunt with a coaxial via a central pin 39 connected hollow piston 40, which in turn is guided through a hollow cylinder 42 coaxially surrounding it and is closed off to the load chamber end plate 22.
- the center of the load-bearing ogive construction 38 is drawn out in a pot-shaped manner towards the load space 19, where it lies flat as a pot bottom against the forward-pointing bottom of the hollow piston 40, if the transverse forces 37 do not exactly result in a small angular adjustment of these two Bring the end faces against each other.
- a comparatively high extensibility, in particular low bending stiffness, of the central bolt 39 allows this pitching movement 41 of the ogive construction 38 carrying the missile shell 10 relative to the hollow piston 40, which in turn is rigid in the hollow cylinder 42 coaxially in front of the load chamber end plate 22 (on it trained or supported).
- the ogive in the transition region 9 experiences an axially displaceable radial guidance in the vicinity of its longitudinal axis.
- a storage cassette 32 for the load space brake screen 23, which is ring-shaped through the central pot 43 and is open to the load chamber 19 and is connected to the load-bearing ogive construction 38 in one or more parts, projects from the front into the collar 45 at a radial distance between the ring wall 44 and the collar wall 45 .
- a radial mutual support between its spherical contact area 46 and a bulge 47 in the generatrix of the annular wall 44 takes place only in the vicinity of the front end of the hollow cylindrical collar wall 45.
- the supporting ogive construction 38 can tilt slightly out of the longitudinal axis of the load chamber 19 without jamming, with the central bolt 39 stretching and bending when tilted relative to the hollow piston 40. Because of the crowned pair of supports 46-47, there are no unpredictable canting and clamping phenomena, such as would be feared with cylinder surfaces that are guided into one another.
- a low-pressure repulsion charge 31 is ignited between the end plate 22 and the hollow piston 40, which leads to increasing reaction gas pressure in a burst capsule 48 surrounding the charge 31 until the outflow bores sealed with a film are torn open by the excess pressure .
- the reaction gas pressure of the burning charge 31 can then have an effect in the interior of the hollow piston 40 until a predetermined breaking point 49 revolves on the bursting capsule 48 in order to lift the hollow piston 40 - guided coaxially in the hollow cylinder 42 - from the end plate 42 and thus also the load-bearing plate Ogiven construction 38 to move away from the load space 19 by breaking open the predetermined breaking points in the casing.
- This lifting of the cassette 32 from the end plate 22 of the load space 19 begins when the build-up of the reaction gas pressure inside the hollow piston 40 leads to an axial force leads, which is greater than the structurally predetermined friction force along the cylinder surface between the hollow piston 40 and the hollow cylinder 42 enclosing it for the axial guidance.
- the screen 23 released from its jam cassette 32 when the ogive 14 is lifted thus causes the load area 19 to decelerate unilaterally because it is connected to the load area forehead 22 by means of the line 33, so that it finally has a new stable flight position (Fig. 6) is rotated 180 ° with respect to the arrival flight direction (Fig. 3), so now for a certain free flight time with its tail 18 facing forward in the direction of movement.
- a pyrotechnic extension aid 34 is therefore arranged within the load chamber 19 between its forehead 22 and the adjacent submunition 12.
- An explosive charge is not suitable for this purpose, because even in the implementation of a low-pressure system with even burn-off, as in the case of the charges 28, 31, the pulsed pressurization on the coaxial stack of the submunitions 12 to be pushed out of the load space 19 would result in too high a pressure.
- This stress is particularly critical when the submunitions 12 are not mechanically stable shaped bodies, but rather the surface defense mines mentioned at the outset, with their rods of their erection and stand devices articulated outside the outer surface of the actual mine active part (not shown in the drawing) ).
- a gas generator 35 is therefore installed on the inside of the load area forehead 22 instead of an explosive charge, as is used as standard in passenger vehicle airbags and is therefore inexpensively and functionally available as a large-scale product.
- the generator 35 delivers a sufficient gas volume quickly enough to fill up the vacuum which otherwise arises and, in addition, to build up a weak axial pressure between the load area forehead 22 and the adjacent submunition 12, which is sufficient to also counteract the friction which counteracts the inertia-related delivery movement - And to overcome dynamic pressure forces in any case to the extent that an undisturbed and rapid axial delivery of the submunitions 12 from the forward-oriented, open load compartment rear 18 is ensured.
- the energy released by the gas generator 35 can also be dimensioned so large that it is sufficient to shear off brackets on the rear cover 25, so that no further detonative separating device has to be implemented here (the function of which is endangered by the previous function of the motor separating device 16) could be).
- the reaction gas can act directly on the adjacent end face of the submunitions 12.
- a plate 36 acting in the load chamber 19 as a flat ejection piston is arranged between the ejection aid 34 and the submunition 12 adjacent to it.
- the axial stack of submunitions 12-12 which is initially stable in flight, is separated by small pilot screens 39 (FIG. 7). They are released one after the other by means of pull-out lines 40; namely, first the pilot parachute 39 on the submunition located last in the flight direction, with respect to which the pull-out line 40 is attached to the load space 19 or (better still) to the piston plate 36 (FIG. 5).
- the screen 39 thus brakes the rear submunition 12 relative to the ones in front, whereby a pull-out line 40 pulls out the pilot screen 39 in the now rear of the remaining stack of submunitions 12-12 in order to then be separated therefrom, and so on continued (Fig. 7).
- the pilot screens 39 Released, for example, via a pyrotechnic delay element (not shown in the drawing), the pilot screens 39 finally pull out the main or mine screen 41 (or previously only an auxiliary screen for further braking) on the respective submunition 12, on which the respective submunition 12 (FIG. 8) safely descends into the barrier area 113 at an uncritical rate of descent, since the previously separated submunitions 12 can then no longer collide with these screens 41.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method according to the preamble of claim 1 and a device according to the preamble of claim 3.
The generic measures are known from US Pat. No. 5,111,748 for the placement of search detonator submunitions by means of a carrier grenade. A pyrotechnic ejection charge, which is arranged in the area of the carrier's ballistic ogive, is ignited above the area of use in order to eject the submunitions backwards (against the direction of flight) from the payload chamber of the grenade.
From DE 31 11 907 A1 a generic type of delivery device is known, in which a hollow cylindrical distribution unit is ejected axially in advance in the direction of flight by means of a pyrotechnic charge above the barrier area from the carrier projectile while its ogive is being blasted off. A brake screen unfolds for the distribution unit. A further pyrotechnic charge is then activated in order to eject the full-caliber submunitions backwards, that is, counter to the direction of movement, by removing the brake screen articulated there from the distribution unit. The coaxial mine stack, which is thereby braked relative to the movement of the distribution unit, is then to be released from its aerodynamically stable composite by successively opening mine screens, by means of which the individual mines are braked independently of one another and sink into the restricted area. However, such a system is not expected to work collision-free.
In a way, it is cheaper to deploy large-caliber submunitions according to FIG. 2 in DE 38 06 731 A1 radially from the carrier by means of inflatable gas hoses, that is, by breaking open the carrier cover along predetermined breaking points transverse to the trajectory. This radial breaking of the carrier is, however, structurally complex and not very reproducible; Above all, however, the lateral arrangement of ejection gas hoses requires a reduction in the diameter of the lead compared to the caliber of submunition (which is possible according to the inside diameter of the carrier) and an unsymmetrical submunition pack that is unfavorable for the structure and the flight behavior of the carrier. Similar measures are known in connection with the transportation of tank mines by the artillery rocket MLRS-AT2 (cf.WEHRTECHNIK 9/91 p. 30/31 below), although initially mines grouped in grit containers after the axially parallel cutting of the payload envelope by one central gas bag are pushed out radially.
Such axial or radial discharge of the payloads initiated by a pyrotechnic ejection charge is not readily applicable for reasons of strength when it comes to very massive objects to be moved, such as. B. fog pots or larger submunitions, and in particular the so-called surface defense mines, which are positioned in the operational area oriented (see GB 2 219 651 A), in order to approach a potential target z. B. from a directional container to start an active body in the manner of a search fuse submunition, as described in GB 2 174 482 A by way of example.
The invention is therefore based on the object of further developing the generic measures in such a way that even such critical payloads can be released functionally reliably from a movement projectile over the site.
This object is achieved in accordance with the labeling parts of the main claims cited at the outset.
The solution according to the invention is thus characterized both in terms of the method and also with regard to the device for moving large-caliber payloads in that the activation of stabilization elements for a payload space which is separated from the rear and has become aerodynamically unstable thereby takes place with a delay, uni an early one with which Avoiding the increase in volume associated with the braking process until the separated rear engine has flown past the payload space spinning off the track in an aerodynamically stable manner. After that, brake sails can be issued (see US Pat. No. 4,726,543), or a parachute connected to the shell of the payload space is stretched to rotate the shell with the open separation point in the direction of movement and relative decelerate to the inertial mass of the payload and thereby let the payload slide out of the hull in the direction of flight.
Expediently, immediately after the motor is separated from the load space, a lift-off charge first ensures a rapid increase in the differential speed between the load space and the rocket motor blasted off it, so that the directionally stable motor does not remain in the slipstream of the load space, but rather the load space is collision-free can swing out of the still stable trajectory of the engine and is already effectively braked by the resulting cross-flow. In the future, the screen will orient the rear of the load area, which originally points against the flight direction, in a stable direction in the direction of flight, whereupon a cover is separated and the load area envelope is now pulled off the submunition stack, the direction of which is opposite, due to the effect of the brake screen. To ensure that the submunitions stack is pushed out quickly and reliably, despite the inflow back pressure in front of the load area and despite the negative pressure in the load area and the frictional forces on the inside of the load area, the negative pressure that arises in the load area is shaped by an extension aid of a gas generator, as is customary in a motor vehicle airbag, not only compensated, but preferably even overcompensated, in order to overcome those forces preventing extension, in support of the umbrella tractive force. For this purpose (contrary to the circumstances for lifting the engine) it is preferred not to use an explosive charge, but rather the more gentle gas generator, so that as submunitions also the mechanically relatively sensitive surface defense mines with their external rods of the upright and standing equipment, which only fill the load cross-section, with full calibration can be used as they are known from DE 38 17 265 A1.
In order to allow the gas pressure of the extension aid to act optimally on the stack of submunitions to be pushed out, and to avoid pressure losses along the linkage on the inside of the load chamber, the gas generator can be inserted in an inflatable gas bag, the deployment of which slides out of the submunition stack from the Load space supports` But if the inflation behavior of the locked gas bag is critical in terms of time or geometry, then a piston-like pressure distribution plate behind the parachute chamber of the submunition to be pushed out last out of the load space is more appropriate. So that the plate stands out reliably and then the parachute chamber can be opened, the plate remains tied to the load space by means of an eccentrically acting line.
This restraint can also serve as a holder for a pull-out line, which opens a small pilot glider behind the last submunition of the stack that is pushed forward in the direction of flight in order to separate this rearmost submunition from the stack - and then a corresponding pull-out line from the settling one Tighten submunition to the pilot screen at the last element of the remaining submunition stack, etc. With regard to the length of the pilot screen pull-out lines, care must be taken that they do not exceed the sum of the axial height and the diameter of a submunition, because otherwise after the separation from the flying pilot parachute a knotting with your own rear pilot parachute and thereby a disturbance of the further parachute releases could occur. Because these pull-out lines are each separated from the open pilot parachute, which then activates the actual main or mine parachute to be released for the descent into the terrain (or previously an auxiliary parachute for further braking of the mine flight movement). A certain gliding behavior can be given to each mine screen in order to achieve a broader distribution of the descending mines across the restricted area regardless of the effects of ground wind.
This ensures reliable separation of the submunitions that are fully calibrated in the missile load chamber, even in the case of relatively sensitive equipment such as surface defense mines to be brought in by air.
For the three separating processes (on the rear engine, on the ogive and later on the load area tailgate pointing in the direction of flight), pyrotechnically shearing or bursting open connections can be used, such as those from EP 0 323 839 A2 or from DE 39 01 882 A1 (even if they are designed for other functions); or detonating cords or cutting charges encircling the hollow cylindrical inner lateral surface lead to the breaking open of predetermined breaking points (which as such is not the subject of the present invention).
If the ogive is to be separated from the forehead area of the load area and a brake parachute is to be released for the load area, then the transition area between the ogive and the load area is subjected to strong bending stresses because the ogive-load area combination that has already been separated from the rocket rear engine laterally from the previous ballistic trajectory the rocket swings out (Fig. 3) and experiences a strong cross-flow. Nevertheless, it must be ensured that the ogive reliably stands out from the forehead of the load area, and that the clamping of the brake parachute coupled to the load space is not hindered. According to an advantageous further development, this is achieved in that a separable connection in the form of a coaxial cylinder guide is provided between the load-bearing ogive construction and a load area end plate, the frictional engagement of which must be overcome by the reaction gas pressure of a repulsion charge for the separation process. Despite the transverse loads, which lead to a not entirely negligible bending of the longitudinal axis of the ogive relative to the longitudinal axis of the load chamber, which is connected coaxially, there are no additional frictional forces that hinder that separation process, which can hardly be predetermined in terms of design, if there is an immediate onset of the axial relative movement between them Ogive and load compartment, a radial support of the ogive construction releases from a collar that runs around the load compartment end plate.

The projectile outlined in the flow diagram of FIG. 1 for moving a large-caliber payload is an
After the
After the
Thus, when the separation process is activated in the
Finally, a separating
An
In the transition region 9 between the
In order to ensure the most reproducible axial lifting of the
Thus, the ogive in the transition region 9 experiences an axially displaceable radial guidance in the vicinity of its longitudinal axis. In addition, there is peripheral radial support near the
To lift the
This lifting of the
After the
The
Then there is a time delay for the initiation of the
This delivery therefore takes place in that the
The energy released by the
If the active charge (gas generator 35) of the
When leaving the
Released, for example, via a pyrotechnic delay element (not shown in the drawing), the pilot screens 39 finally pull out the main or mine screen 41 (or previously only an auxiliary screen for further braking) on the
