Abstract

The machine, designed to produce packages with interlocking closure strips, incorporates a mechanism (110) which makes a fold (P) in the film (12) to create at least one pleat in each finished package. The fold (P) can be made along or across the film layer, and the package closure strips can also be in either direction. The pleat in each package can be in the form of a Z-section fold in the film itself or a U-section insert welded into it. In the former case the fold can be made by two parallel plates (112, 114) with an adjustable amount of overlap.

Description

The present invention relates to the field of machines for forming, filling and automatically closing film-based packaging, in particular of thermoplastic material, comprising closure profiles, for example complementary male and female closure profiles.

Such machines are often called FFS, corresponding to the initials of the English expression "Form, Fill and Seal machine".

Many machines of this type have already been proposed.

Most of these machines include a forming neck which receives the film in the planar state from an unwinder and provides the film-shaped tube as output, a filling chute which opens into this forming neck and by Consequently in said tube, longitudinal welding means for closing the tube longitudinally and means capable of sequentially generating a first transverse weld before a product is introduced into the tube by the filler neck, then a second transverse weld when the product has been introduced into the tube, to close a package around the latter.

The document WO-A-8900949 describes a method for manufacturing packaging sachets comprising a step which consists in generating at least one fold on a film intended to constitute a sachet, to form at least one bellows on the final sachet.

The present invention now aims to improve the known FFS machines.

It is proposed in the context of the present invention, a machine for forming, filling and automatic closure of packaging bags as defined in claim 1 attached.

The present invention also relates to a method for manufacturing packaging bags on a machine for forming, filling and automatically closing packaging bags, as defined in the set of appended claims.

Other characteristics, aims and advantages of the present invention will appear on reading the detailed description which follows and with reference to the appended drawings given by way of nonlimiting examples and in which:
  • Figure 1 shows a schematic view of a variant of profiles and strips deposited transversely on a film to form bottom gussets on the bags.

However, the invention can extend to any flexible film capable of constituting a packaging sachet. The bag comprises a closure assembly formed by two complementary closure profiles 22 and 24, fixed on the internal surface of the bag, at the mouth of the latter.

The closure assembly can be provided with a longitudinal cord facilitating the opening of the bag.

The film 12 can be a simple flexible single-layer film or a complex film composed of different adjacent layers, for example coextruded.

According to an alternative embodiment, the strip supporting the sections 22 and 24 is welded to half its width, on the film 12. This prevents the internal pressure in the bag from requesting the sections 22 and 24 when the cover opens. support of the profiles is not connected to the edges of the film 12, opposite the profiles 22, 24, but below the profiles.

The bottom bellows can be made in a different color from the body of the bag.

There is shown diagrammatically in FIG. 1 a strip 50 in a U shape, convexity directed towards the rear relative to the direction of movement of the film 12, connected (coming from material) initially to the support strips 23, 25 of the profiles 22, 24. The strip 50 connected to the profiles 22, 24, deposited on the film 12, has a length equal to half the width of the film 12. One side of the U-shaped strip and the adjacent support strip 23 are welded to the film 12 at the level of the deposition station, upstream of the forming neck. The other side of the U-shaped strip and the second support strip 25 are welded to the internal wall of the film 12 constituting the packaging after folding of this film in tubular configuration and filling of the packaging, that is to say when finishing this packaging, at the transverse welding station.

Such a strip 50 linked to the sections 22, 24 can be conveyed transversely on the film 12 by any means known for this purpose.

Of course, it is necessary to provide at the level of the transverse welding station means capable of cutting this strip in order to separate the strip 50 in the actual U, intended to form a bellows, and the sections 22, 24, according to the cutting line referenced 200 in FIG. 1. Thus after cutting along line 200, the sections 22, 24 are linked to the mouth area of a sachet which has just been individualized, while the strip 50 in U forms a bottom gusset for the sachet being formed.

The reverse arrangement can be adopted, that is to say that the strip forming assembly 50 in U and sections 22/24 can be deposited convexity of the U strip in front with respect to the direction of travel.
