- A plastic screw anchor for mounting a rail on a railroad tie, in particular, a concrete railroad tie,wherein the screw anchor contains an essentially cylindrical anchor body (1) with a non-threaded upper region (la) and a lower region (1b), wherein an inside thread (2) for receiving a rail screw and an outside thread (3) for unscrewing the plastic screw anchor from the railroad tie are provided over at least a part of the length of the lower region (1b),wherein the lower region (1b) of the anchor body has a shape that is adapted to the outside thread of the rail screw and an essentially uniform wall thickness,wherein the wall thickness of the anchor body has such dimensions that the outside diameter of the anchor amounts to at least 1.05-times and no more than 1.2-times the inside diameter of the anchor, andwherein the lower region (1b) of the anchor body (1) is adapted to the rounded outside thread of a rail screw
- The plastic screw anchor according to Claim 1, characterized in that the anchor body (1) consists of polyolefin, in particular, HDPE.
- The plastic screw anchor according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the wall thickness of the anchor body (1) lies between 0.8 and 2 mm.
- The plastic screw anchor according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the thread is only provided over a part of the length of the lower region (1b) which is situated opposite of the upper region (1a).
- A screw-anchor combination for mounting a rail on a railroad tie, consisting of a plastic screw anchor according to one of the preceding claims and a conventional rail screw that is provided with a rounded outside thread.
