Claims (9)

  1. A collapsible container having four vertical side walls (2, 3) which are articulated to a base plate (1) and can each be pivoted inwards into a horizontal position, wherein two opposite side walls (3) partially cover one another in their horizontal position, characterised in that the top side of the covered zone (3c) of the subjacent side wall (3a) is formed with projections and recesses (21, 22) and the underside of the covering zone (3d) of the superjacent side wall (3b) is correspondingly so shaped that the total thickness of the two registering zones corresponds to the thickness of one side wall.
  2. A collapsible container according to claim 1, characterised in that the two zones (3c, 3d) fit positively into one another.
  3. A collapsible container according to claims 1 or 2, characterised in that the projections are strip-shaped and fit into pocket-shaped and/or slot-shaped re-entrants, more particularly recesses in the other side wall.
  4. A collapsible container according to claim 3, characterised in that with the side wall raised vertically the projections on the upper horizontal (end face) edge (25) of the side wall form horizontal bearing surfaces for a container located thereabove.
  5. A collapsible container according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that disposed between the projections are supporting ribs (26) which extend transversely thereof and which when the side walls are lying on one another enter slots with which the projections, more particularly the strips of the other side wall are formed.
  6. A collapsible container according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the projections and/or reentrants/recesses (21, 22) are wave-shaped.
  7. A collapsible container according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that on the vertical edge of an erected side wall (3) a vertical stop strip (4) projects inwards against whose inner side the vertical outside edge of the adjacent side wall comes to bear, and the stop strip (4) is so disposed offset in relation to the vertical edge that the stop strip (4) forms with the vertical edge a spacing (g) corresponding to at least the walled thickness of the stop strip.
  8. A collapsible container according to claim 7, characterised in that in the downwardly hinged state a stop strip (4) of the opposite side wall fits into the spacing (g) formed by the stop strip (4).
  9. A collapsible container according to claims 7 or 8, characterised in that the base plate is formed with recesses for the stop strip(s) (4) in the downwardly hinged state.
