Description
The present invention relates to a printer thermal intended to be associated with any terminal an information processing facility.
To illustrate an application of the invention, will assume that the terminal is equipped with a video screen of the like television receiver, minitel or installation monitor IT ... with which it is necessary to associate a printer for example for printing data appearing on this video screen and more particularly when it comes to fugitive data which disappear by the very fact of using the terminal by an operator. A very specific application of this type installation is interactive television by which transactions are negotiated.
The association of a printer and a terminal of an information processing facility is known in itself. In general, the terminal has a its own power supply, connectable to the network general electrical distribution of where it is find. Likewise the printer has a power supply which it is also clean and which can be connected to the same network. This arrangement is illustrated by document JP-A-05 069577 where, for reasons of low cost food includes a rechargeable battery and a charger drums.
In document US-A-5,110,226, there is described a portable device formed by a microprocessor and a disconnectable printer in which either parts are fed independently of each other by batteries either, when the device is connected to a communication network, electrical energy is supplied to both parties by feeding necessarily sized to the sum of the needs of these two parties.
By the present invention there is provided a printer whose power supply is connectable directly at the terminal, whatever the characteristics of his diet, and despite the fact that in general this power supply is sized only for the needs of the terminal. There is no longer any need to connect the printer to the energy distribution network which simplifies the hardware by removing a connection socket from the printer to the distribution network and removing the constraint for the user to provide a place specific for this connection.
To this end the invention therefore relates to the combination a terminal and a printer of a treatment plant data comprising on the one hand, a terminal comprising its electric power supply sized to its specific need and a multi-pin outlet having at least two pins for the transmission of data and two other pins between which is has a supply voltage derived from said specific power supply and secondly, a printer whose power supply is provided by a battery rechargeable battery, the system comprising a electric connection for charging the rechargeable battery, connected to output pins with voltage derived from the terminal's specific power supply.
The benefits and other features of the invention will emerge from the description given below of an example of its realization.
Reference will be made to the appended drawing which, by a single figure, schematically represents a printer for example thermal according to the associated invention at a terminal of a data processing installation.
batterie rechargeable. The terminal in question is represented on the
figure in the form of a
aux besoins en énergie de l'imprimante 5.In this type of application, the use of
The main advantage of the invention is to simplify connections between a terminal and a printer appendix intended to constitute a written proof of the data carried or transiting through this installation terminal data processing.
