Une application toute particulière de ce type d'installation est la télévision interactive par laquelle des transactions se négocient. L'association d'une imprimante et d'un terminal d'une installation de traitement de l'information est connue en elle-même. En général, le terminal dispose d'une alimentation qui lui est propre, connectable au réseau général de distribution électrique de l'endroit où il se trouve. A titre d'exemple on indiquera que la liaison 4 est du type RS 485 6 fils avec prise RJ11, deux fils n'étant pas connectés, deux servant à la transmission de données et deux servant à l'alimentation par exemple 9V. Cette batterie d'accumulation 6 est donc rechargée par des courants faibles détournés de l'alimentation du terminal 1 qui, bien que dimensionnée aux besoins propres de ce terminal, autorise ce branchement en parallèle d'une batterie rechargeable. Dans ce type d'application, l'utilisation de l'imprimante 5 est épisodique, si bien que le temps pendant lequel la batterie est sollicitée pour fournir de l'énergie à l'imprimante est très nettement inférieur au temps pendant lequel le courant faible issu de l'alimentation du terminal 1 charge cette batterie. En outre, lorsque l'imprimante 5 fait appel à la source d'énergie, il s'agit en général d'un appel de courants forts pendant de brefs intervalles de temps.
