Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for processing or processing of developed photographic films according to the preamble of the first claim.
- DE-OS 41 26 579 shows a device with which images of exposed photographic films can be produced fully automatically.
- the films are developed, automatically transferred to a copier, the individual images are copied onto paper and the paper is developed.
- the device is designed for processing conventional 35 mm film in 135 format or pocket film in A110 format.
- EP-OS 571 805 now shows a film cartridge which contains a film wound on a spool, the guide section of which does not protrude from the cartridge.
- EP-OS 664 483 describes a laboratory organization for films and cartridges of this type, in which the film strip is rewound into the cartridge after copying and is thus handed over to the customer together with the pictures. This new film system was called Advanced Photo System "(APS) launched.
- APS Advanced Photo System
- DE-OS 40 38 661 it is proposed to rewind the film back into the cartridge after development and to use a copier in which the cartridge is inserted and the developed film is spooled out of the cartridge for the copying process and then rewound .
- an APS film can thus be handled similarly to a 35 mm film 135.
- the film only needs to be rewound into the cartridge after copying.
- the cartridge can be inserted directly into the cartridge holder and, as described in DE-OS 40 38 661, copied. This means that full automation can be achieved both with a first order and with a repeat order with one and the same copier.
- the input station for taking over the film strips from the developing device is therefore advantageously designed so that both film strips of format 135 and APS film strips can be taken over.
- Minilabs are often operated by unskilled or at least only briefly trained workers, so that the devices must be designed in such a way that input errors are avoided from the outset.
- the presence of several input stations, which are correspondingly adapted to the different input media, can prevent, for example, a film from being inserted into the input opening provided for a cartridge or vice versa.
- a specific shape of the cartridge receptacle adapted to the APS cartridge or other blocking means can be used to prevent, for example, a 35 mm cartridge from being inserted into this input station.
- the cartridge holder is advantageously designed so that the cartridge can only be entered in one orientation. This avoids incorrect entries from the outset. If this is not possible in particular when retrofitting existing devices, means are provided which detect the orientation of the cartridge in the cartridge receptacle and, in the event of incorrect entry, generate a corresponding warning or alarm signal.
- an additional input station for these reorder orders can be provided.
- the emulsion layer of the film strip has the correct orientation, since the paper prints produced are otherwise reversed.
- the orientation of the film strips entered can be determined, for example, using the DX code, as described in DE-OS 41 14 343.
- the transfer station enables the majority of the device to be used together for all systems and formats. As a result, new systems can be established on the market more quickly because the development laboratories or the Minilab operators do not have to purchase completely new devices, but only add-ons for existing devices.
- the input stations can be arranged on a motor-operated, vertically adjustable carriage. If the Minilab is equipped so that the actual copying station can be automatically adapted to different formats, the overall control of the device can be done by entering the cartridges or film strips. If, for example, a cartridge is inserted into the input station provided for this purpose, the carriage is moved so that the guiding and transport device of this input station can transfer the film directly to the guiding and transport device through the copying station. At the same time, the copying station can be adapted to the format of the film in the cartridge will. This can be done either by moving elements or by automatically changing the entire stage.
- a simpler but equally effective option is to mount the individual input stations in a fixed position.
- the guiding and transport devices of the input stations are then arranged in such a way that they open into the guiding and transport device through the copying station. This can usually be done in such a way that no motorized adjustment is necessary in the transfer station.
- All parts of the device according to FIG. 1 are mounted on a common base plate 1.
- the base plate has a groove 2 in which the edge guides 3 and 4 are adjustably mounted for the film strips.
- the side guides 5, 6 for the film in the cartridge 7 are firmly connected to these edge guides.
- the drive block 8, with which film from the APS cartridge 7 can be wound, is connected to the guides 3 and 5 via the connecting part 9 and the actuating rod 10.
- the actuating rod 10 is guided axially movably in the bearing part 11 and 12 fixed to the housing. While the operating rod 10 is firmly connected to the connecting part 9 and the edge guide 3, the connecting part 13 is axially displaceable on it.
- the actuating rod 14 on the other hand, which is also axially displaceably guided in the bearing parts 11 and 12, is fixedly connected to the guides 4 and 6 via the connecting part 13, while the connecting part 9 is axially displaceably mounted on it.
- the actuating rods 10 and 14 can each be displaced in opposite directions by the motor 15 and a spindle drive (not shown in more detail).
- the guides for the film can be adjusted symmetrically in this way.
- the cartridge 7 lies in the cartridge receptacle 16, which is precisely adapted to the outer shape of the cartridge.
- the drive block 8 has a shaft 17 for driving the film spool in the cartridge and a shaft 18 for opening the cartridge closure. A drive for these shafts is not shown in the drawing.
- This support part contains a support pin 20 which supports the film spool during the film input and a button 21 which detects whether the film in the cartridge is an already developed or an as yet undeveloped film.
- a flap 22 is pivotally mounted about the axis 23.
- a guide piece 24 is attached below the flap and can be pivoted about an axis parallel to the axis 23.
- the guide piece 24 is resiliently pressed against the flap 22, so that the runners 25 rest against the flap 22.
- the flap 22 can be pivoted by a mechanism, not shown here, via the actuating lever 26.
- the drive roller pair 27 is shared by all the films entered.
- the principle of this device is shown again schematically in FIG. 2.
- the various positions of the device, which are set by the motor 15, can for example be tied to the insertion of different copying plates adapted to the respective format in the copying machine, not shown here. In the position shown, a copy plate would therefore be used, which is adapted to the format of the film in the APS cartridge 7.
- the insertion of the cartridge is recognized by light barriers, not shown here, whereupon the motor 15 is started and the drive block 8 and the support part 19 are moved so far that the shaft 17 is coupled to the coil of the cartridge. Simultaneously with the support part 19 and the drive block 8, the guides 5 and 6 are moved to the required distance.
- the button 21 ensures that the film in the cartridge has actually already developed and is therefore no longer sensitive to light. Then the shutter of the cartridge is opened via the shaft 18 and the shaft 17 is driven so that the film start is pushed out of the cartridge 7 through the guides 5 and 6 up to the drive rollers 27. From here, the film can now be conveyed through the copying machine and rewound into the cartridge after the copying process. Then the closure is closed again by the shaft 18 and the motor 15 moves the drive block 8, the support member 19 and the guides 5 and 6 back into the position shown in FIG. 1.
- the corresponding copying plate is inserted into the copier. Thereupon the motor 15 moves the edge guides 3, 4 until they are at a distance corresponding to the film format. In order to further increase the security of input and to rule out the possibility that the 35 mm film may be input via the guides 5 and 6, a cover 16 a could be closed over the cartridge receptacle 16 at the same time. If the film is now properly entered via the edge guides 3, 4, the respective edge area of the film strip is scanned by a DX code reader in the edge guides 3 and 4 and it is determined on which side the DX code is located. The orientation of the filmstrip can be determined on the basis of the position of the DX code and the reading direction.
- the operator is asked to correct the position of the film.
- the Film beginning by the drive rollers 30 (Fig. 2) detected. If the input is correct, these drive rollers then also feed the film to the drive rollers 27.
- cartridges and / or 135 film strips can be fed to the respective input stations from a magazine, so that operation is further simplified. For reasons of clarity, this feature was not shown separately in the figures.
- a film start arriving from a film developing device is fed from below through the drive rollers 31 (FIG. 2).
- the flap 22 and the guide piece 24 resting thereon are raised via the actuating lever 26 into a position in which a film beginning guided through the underside of the flap 22 can be fed to the drive rollers 27.
- the beginning of the film slides between the runners 25 of the guide piece 24 and the underside of the flap 22. This forms a gap between the guide piece 24 and the flap 22 which is wide enough that there is no risk of scratching the film.
- the runners 25 are arranged so that they only touch the film in its edge area. The beginning of the film is in turn captured by the rollers 27 and transported into the copier.
- FIG. 3 The mode of operation of a further exemplary embodiment is shown in FIG. 3.
- a cartridge holder 35 and a film strip guide 36 in a carriage 37.
- drive rollers 38 and drives for the film reel and the cartridge closure are also provided in the carriage.
- the carriage can be moved in the direction of the double arrow A. If the carriage 37 is in the position shown in FIG. 3, one located in the cartridge receptacle 35 can Film is unwound from a cartridge and fed to the drive rollers 27 via the film guide 39.
- the carriage is moved so that the film guide 36 is aligned with the film guide 40 of the copying machine.
- the width of the film guide 36 can be changed, for example, so that both film strips with the format 135 and film strips of another format can be entered.
- the film can be taken over by the rollers 38 and passed on to the rollers 27.
- a 35 mm film can already be input into the guide 36.
- the beginning of the film is fixed by the rollers 38 until the film just processed is rewound through the guide 39 into the cartridge in the cartridge receptacle 35.
- the carriage 37 moves and the rollers 38 can transfer the 35 mm film to the drive rollers 27.
- the roller 43 is provided which deflects and tracks the protruding film end accordingly.
- the film guide 36 fulfills the task of two input stations: 135 film strips can be input and film strips can be taken over by the film developing device 42.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for processing or processing of developed photographic films according to the preamble of the first claim.
In the device shown, the films are developed, automatically transferred to a copier, the individual images are copied onto paper and the paper is developed. The device is designed for processing conventional 35 mm film in 135 format or pocket film in A110 format.
Dieses neue Filmsystem wurde als Advanced Photo System" (APS) in den Markt eingeführt.EP-OS 571 805 now shows a film cartridge which contains a film wound on a spool, the guide section of which does not protrude from the cartridge. EP-OS 664 483 describes a laboratory organization for films and cartridges of this type, in which the film strip is rewound into the cartridge after copying and is thus handed over to the customer together with the pictures. This new film system was called Advanced Photo System "(APS) launched.
In DE-OS 40 38 661 it is proposed to rewind the film back into the cartridge after development and to use a copier in which the cartridge is inserted and the developed film is spooled out of the cartridge for the copying process and then rewound .
It is the object of the invention to design a device for processing photographic films, as described in DE-OS 41 26 579, so universally that APS films can also be processed.
The object is achieved by a device having the features of claim 1. In the case of a first order, an APS film can thus be handled similarly to a 35 mm film 135. The film only needs to be rewound into the cartridge after copying. When reordering, the cartridge can be inserted directly into the cartridge holder and, as described in DE-OS 40 38 661, copied. This means that full automation can be achieved both with a first order and with a repeat order with one and the same copier.
For users of minilabs, the universal applicability for different film systems becomes particularly important because these devices are often housed in very cramped spaces and several devices could not be set up at the same time. The input station for taking over the film strips from the developing device is therefore advantageously designed so that both film strips of format 135 and APS film strips can be taken over.
Minilabs are often operated by unskilled or at least only briefly trained workers, so that the devices must be designed in such a way that input errors are avoided from the outset. The presence of several input stations, which are correspondingly adapted to the different input media, can prevent, for example, a film from being inserted into the input opening provided for a cartridge or vice versa. Likewise, a specific shape of the cartridge receptacle adapted to the APS cartridge or other blocking means can be used to prevent, for example, a 35 mm cartridge from being inserted into this input station.
The cartridge holder is advantageously designed so that the cartridge can only be entered in one orientation. This avoids incorrect entries from the outset. If this is not possible in particular when retrofitting existing devices, means are provided which detect the orientation of the cartridge in the cartridge receptacle and, in the event of incorrect entry, generate a corresponding warning or alarm signal.
In order to also be able to process reorders of film strips of format 135, an additional input station for these reorder orders can be provided. When inserting film strips into this input station, it is particularly important that the emulsion layer of the film strip has the correct orientation, since the paper prints produced are otherwise reversed. The orientation of the film strips entered can be determined, for example, using the DX code, as described in DE-OS 41 14 343.
The transfer station enables the majority of the device to be used together for all systems and formats. As a result, new systems can be established on the market more quickly because the development laboratories or the Minilab operators do not have to purchase completely new devices, but only add-ons for existing devices.
The input stations can be arranged on a motor-operated, vertically adjustable carriage.
A simpler but equally effective option is to mount the individual input stations in a fixed position. The guiding and transport devices of the input stations are then arranged in such a way that they open into the guiding and transport device through the copying station. This can usually be done in such a way that no motorized adjustment is necessary in the transfer station.
Further details and advantages of the invention emerge from the subclaims in connection with the description of exemplary embodiments, which are explained in detail with reference to the drawing.

All parts of the device according to FIG. 1 are mounted on a common base plate 1. The base plate has a
The drive block 8, with which film from the APS cartridge 7 can be wound, is connected to the
The actuating rod 14, on the other hand, which is also axially displaceably guided in the bearing
The cartridge 7 lies in the
Below the
The principle of this device is shown again schematically in FIG. 2. The various positions of the device, which are set by the
If, for example, a commercially available 35 mm film is to be copied, the corresponding copying plate is inserted into the copier. Thereupon the
In a manner known per se, cartridges and / or 135 film strips can be fed to the respective input stations from a magazine, so that operation is further simplified. For reasons of clarity, this feature was not shown separately in the figures.
A film start arriving from a film developing device is fed from below through the drive rollers 31 (FIG. 2). For this purpose, the
The mode of operation of a further exemplary embodiment is shown in FIG. 3. Here is a
If, on the other hand, a film strip is to be taken over by the
On the other hand, while a film is being copied from the
In the exemplary embodiment shown, the
