Description

The invention relates to a device for transferring a wire comb binding from a first to a second position with a first, the wire comb binding for the transfer ready station, a second, the wire comb binding receiving station, a connecting the first and the second station Conveyor line and transfer means for moving the wire comb binding transversely axially from the first station via the conveyor line to the second station, whereby during the movement of the wire comb bindings from the first into the second station regarding a change in the angular position of the wire comb binding their longitudinal axis.

A).Joining sheets of paper or paper stacked up in stacks same, which are perforated along an edge, through to booklets or blocks Inserting wire comb bindings has been known for a long time. This is done from an endless wire, an endless wire comb is first formed, which is C-shaped is formed. This C-shaped wire comb will be bound for everyone Sheet stack one or more wire comb sections, so-called Wire comb bindings, cut off. In such a device according to the State of the art, each wire comb binding on one with a magnet provided holder and then by pivoting the holder by one parallel to its longitudinal axis pivot axis in a binding station pivoted. There the wire comb binding is inserted into the perforation using pliers the sheet stack inserted and closed (DE 24 03 154 C3). Every stack of sheets can with a single wire comb binding of appropriate length or - at the so-called skip binding - with several shorter ones spaced apart Wire comb bindings are bound (DE 31 41 686 C2). The C-shaped Wire comb bindings can also initially on support strips or support straps lined up and combined into mats. In this form they can be stored and transported for later use for binding Sheet stacks to be fed (GB-PS 987 117, GB 2 257 070 A).

In many cases, it is necessary to remove the wire comb bindings after cutting them off from the endless wire comb into one for the desired further processing bring appropriate location and orientation. According to DE 24 03 154 C3 and GB 1 209 940 this is done by means of a swivel arm that binds the wire combs successively moved along a circular path and thereby by 90 ° pivots. This requires greater design effort and space in the Machine.

The invention has for its object a further device of the beginning Specify the type described.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that at least one section the conveyor track is designed as a slideway that the transfer means have a slider, which the wire comb binding transverse axially along the Slideway moves and that the slideway as a means of changing the angular position the wire comb binding a route section with means for exercising one-sided retention force on the wire comb binding, which together with the force of the slide moving the wire comb binding over the slideway causes a tilting moment that changes the angular position of the wire comb binding.

According to the invention, the conveyor line is therefore essentially straight Slideway formed over which the wire comb binding is pushed transversely axially and the change in the angular position of the wire comb bindings accomplished during their movement along the conveyor line according to the invention becomes.

Further developments and advantageous embodiments of the invention are in the Subclaims 2 to 5 included. Claim 2 is particularly relevant preferred variant. After that, simply with the help of a magnetic field Retaining force exerted on the wire comb bindings, which together with the Thrust effect of the slide the tilting moment required for the rotation on the Wire comb binding causes. For non-magnetic wire comb bindings they are Measures provided according to claim 3. The features of claims 4 and 5 relate to measures to limit the tilting movement of the wire comb bindings in the conveyor line which ensure that the wire comb bindings actually achieve and maintain the intended angular orientation.

The invention has the advantage that separated from a C-shaped wire comb Wire comb bindings with little effort regarding their axis in one new angular position can be tilted. That happens in the narrow area anyway required conveyor line, so that the change in the angular position is none additional space is required in the machine. The one for changing the Angular position means are simple and inexpensive and largely wear and maintenance free. The device is particularly simple and effective to be used for wire comb bindings made of ferromagnetic wire, because the tilting movement occurs solely through the field of one or more magnets is effected. However, non-magnetic wire comb bindings can also be made according to the Invention in a similarly simple manner when transversely transporting to a new angular position be tilted.

The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing.

A typical wire comb binding 1 is in perspective in FIG shown. It is a section of predetermined Length of a C-shaped wire comb. The wire comb binding points opposite each other on its open side Tips 2 and webs 3. At 4 is the back of the wire comb binding designated.

To bind a sheet stack, the tips 2 are by means of a pair of pliers is inserted into corresponding perforations in the leaves, then the bond is closed. This process is known and not the subject of the present invention.

Figure 2 shows an embodiment of the device according to the Invention in a schematic front view. This device has a first station 7 on a frame 6, in which the wire comb bindings 1 in succession for further processing be kept ready. This first station 7 can be a cutting station into which a C-shaped curved Wire comb is advanced axially, one after the other the sections provided as wire comb binding 1 separated become. This longitudinal axial conveying of the wire comb takes place by means of a conveyor 8 which has clips 9 on its surface for holding the wire comb or the separated ones in the correct position Wire comb bindings 1. Under conveyor 8 a magnet 11 is arranged, the vibrations of the wire comb or the wire comb bindings 1 prevented.

A conveyor line 12 connects the first station 7 with one second station 13. It is by a slideway 14 with attached, guide strips 16 running in the conveying direction educated. A magnet 17 is arranged below the slideway 14. At the same time, several can also run parallel to the conveying direction such magnets 17 may be provided. The magnetic field extends into the path of movement of the wire comb binding 1 along the Slideway in. The slideway is for the magnetic field permeable. A slide 18 is in the direction of a double arrow 19 displaceable parallel to the slideway 14 in the conveying direction arranged to wire comb bindings provided in the first station 7 1 via the slideway 14 to the second station 13 move.

In the conveyor section 12, the slideway 14 adjoins the Front of a plunger 21 at the level of the slide lies and with the guide strips 16 aligned guide strips 22 carries. The plunger 21 is perpendicular to the arrow 23 Conveyor track 12 is movably arranged.

An end stop 24 can be moved from an advanced first position P 1 (see FIG. 3) synchronously with the slide 18 moving the wire comb binding on the slideway to a retracted second position P 2 (see FIG. 2) and back according to an arrow 26. The second position P 2 of the stop 24 simultaneously defines the end of the conveying path 12 in the conveying direction.

In operation, a C-shaped wire comb is fed longitudinally axially into the first station 7 by means of the conveyor 8, where a wire comb section of a predetermined length is separated from the wire comb. The slider 18 is in its retracted position and can rest against the wire comb binding in the web area 3. The stop 24 is in the retracted position P 2 and the surface of the plunger 21 is flush with the sliding surface. While the wire comb binding 1 provided is now pushed from the slider 18 in the arrow direction 19 to the left onto the slideway 14 of the conveyor path 12, its lateral alignment being ensured by the guide strips 16, the stop 24 moves in the arrow direction 26 to the right into its first position P. 1st

As soon as the wire comb binding 1 reaches the magnet 17 under the pushing action of the slider 18, its magnetic field exerts a retaining force on the wire comb binding, which, under the action of the pushing force of the slider 18, leads to a tilting moment which causes the wire comb binding to rotate in the direction of arrow 27 in Figure 3 causes. Under the effect of the tilting moment, the back 4 of the wire comb binding 1 is lifted off the sliding surface, so that the open side of the wire comb binding pivots counterclockwise towards the stop 24. Two angular positions W 1 and W 2 of this pivoting process are shown schematically in FIG. It can be seen that under the restrained effect of the magnetic field of the magnet 17 on the pointed side of the wire comb binding 1, its back 4 is lifted off the sliding surface 14, so that the wire comb binding 1 rolls to a certain extent on its pointed side and its open side against the stop 24 turns. This tilting movement ends at the moment when both the tip and the web of the wire comb binding 1 rest against the stop 24. This is the position W 2 in FIG. 3. Now the slide 18 and the stop 24 move synchronously to the left in the direction of the arrow 26 and 19, respectively, holding the wire comb binding 1 in position W 2 between them. This is shown in Figure 4. In FIG. 5, the stop 24 has reached its retracted second position P 2 , and the slide 18 has already returned to its starting position in order to make room for the next wire comb binding in the first station 7. From the second station 13, the plunger 21 has shifted the wire comb binding 1 along the stop 24 in the direction of arrow 23 upward in the direction of the next processing station. What is not shown in the drawing, but is common, the wire comb binding 1 can be passed to a pair of pliers for insertion into the perforation of a paper stack or it can be lined up on a carrier for forming mats for the storage of prepared wire comb bindings.

Unless the wire comb binding is not made of magnetic material exists, can instead of a magnet 17 in the conveyor line the friction of the slideway 14 can be partially increased, whereby also causes a retention force on the wire comb binding can be, which leads to a rotation in the wire comb binding in the described sense leads.

Apparatus for transferring a wire comb binding from a first position to a second position, having a first station which holds the wire comb binding in readiness for the transfer, a second station which receives the wire comb binding, a conveying path which connects the first and the second station, and transfer means for moving the wire comb binding transversely to its axis from the first station by way of the conveying path to the second station, a change in the angular position of the wire comb binding (1) with respect to its longitudinal axis taking place during the movement of the wire comb bindings from the first station (7) to the second station (13), characterized in that at least a section of the conveying path (12) is constructed as a slideway (14), in that the transfer means include a pusher (18) which displaces the wire comb binding (1) transversely to its axis along the slideway and in that the slideway (14) includes, as the means for changing the angular position of the wire comb binding, a path section having means (17) for exerting a one-sided retaining force on the wire comb binding (1) which, together with the force of the pusher (18) moving the wire comb binding over the slideway (14), causes a tilting moment which changes the angular position of the wire comb binding.
  2. Apparatus according to Claim 1, characterized in that a magnet (17) aligned, beneath the slideway, with the movement path of the wire comb binding (1) is provided as the means for producing a retaining force.
  3. Apparatus according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the slideway (14) includes a path section of increased friction as the means for changing the angular position of the wire comb binding.
  4. Apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that a stop (24) which is movable along the conveying path (12) and limits the tilting movement of the wire comb binding (1) is provided.
  5. Apparatus according to Claim 4, characterized in that the stop (24) is movable from an advanced first position (P1), in which it terminates the tilting movement of the wire comb binding (1), substantially synchronously with the pusher (18) moving the wire comb binding on the slideway (14), into a retracted second position (P2), in which the wire comb binding (1) tilted about its axis is transferred to a further conveyor (21).
