Abstract

The hot plate packet comprises a number of adjacent profile plates held together but leaving flow channels between them. On at least two opposing packet sides (18, 19) the two outer profile plates (14, 15) are formed as sandwich-type shape-stable profile plate pairs. One profile plate of the pair is undulated and the other is corrugated. The profile plates are joined to one another by welding points (16). The vertical outer rail (20) of the profile plates are connected to horizontal rails (21) on the packet upper and lower sides. The face surfaces of the horizontal rails are located at the same height as the face surfaces of the radial walls of the cells of the hot surface carrier (4).

Description

The invention relates to a heating plate package for tangential or radial installation in trapezoidal segmented cells having heating surface supports of regenerative heat exchangers with fixed or revolving storage masses, which consists of a plurality of stacked profile sheets which are held together and leave flow channels between them.

The regenerative heat exchanger can be used for both air preheating (Luvos) and gas preheating (Gavos). Air preheaters are used in power plant and industrial combustion systems to preheat the combustion air and gas preheaters in exhaust gas purification, for example in catalytic reactors, for preheating or in gas scrubbing for reheating. The heat exchange between the outflowing hot gas and the air supplied in countercurrent is achieved either by a rotating heating surface support or - in the case of a fixed heating surface support - by means of hoods arranged on both sides of the storage masses and rotating continuously around a common axis.

The heating surfaces or storage masses of such regenerative heat exchangers consist of two differently profiled, e.g. 0.5 to 1.3 mm thick, optionally coated or enamelled steel sheets, which are bundled into packages according to the cell-like structure of the circular heating surface carrier and fit into the individual cells of the heating surface support can be used. The heating plates are packaged by solid boxes or frame brackets, which are placed around the heating plates bundled into the package. In the case of the heater plates, which are mostly arranged tangentially due to the more stable package position, it is customary to hold the heater plate packages together at their head ends, which are parallel to the trapezoidal shape, by means of head plates which are connected to one another on the top and bottom by horizontally extending bars. The heating plate packs are arranged in the gas flow direction, that is to say generally in a vertical direction. With this construction of the heating plate packs, which has been known for a long time, the massive brackets not only increase the package weight, but also take up a considerable part of the available installation space, and this applies equally to tangentially or radially arranged sheet metal layers of the heating plate pack. Along with this, the free flow cross-section for the air or gas throughput is inevitably restricted.

The invention is therefore based on the object of simplifying a heating plate package of the type mentioned, in particular to provide a weight-saving package holder and improved flow.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that on at least two opposite sides of the package at least the two outer profiled sheets are constructed as a pair of profiled sheets which are connected to one another in a sandwich-like manner and in a dimensionally stable manner. When installing a tangentially aligned heating plate stack, these are the two mutually parallel head sides and when installing with radially aligned with respect to the heating surface support profile sheets are consequently formed according to the trapezoidal shape of the heating surface support cells diverging package sides with a profile sheet pair according to the invention. For the heating plate packages, there is no longer any need for heavy head plates or even a complete circumferential housing, but the outer profile plate pairs which form quasi box girder provide for Sufficiently large stability, which is further supported by the fact that vertical outer spars of the profiled sheets are connected to horizontal spars on the top and bottom of the package, so that there is a belt-like spar wrap around the heating surface package.

The sandwich-like hollow box girder assembly of at least the two outer profiled sheets of the heating sheet bundle not only saves weight, but above all makes better use of the installation volume in the heating sheet support and thus increases the active heating area. In contrast to the conventional head plate arrangements or circumferential frames, the profile sheets of the profile sheet pair (s) are fully capable of being used like all other heating sheets in the package as heating surfaces with the corresponding free cross sections in the entire area of the individual cells; the heating plate package thus offers higher heat outputs. At the same time, the blockage in the flow cross-sections of the individual cells is reduced, so that lower flow losses for the heat-exchanging media and a lower pressure drop can be achieved. The flow cross-sections, which are not restricted in the case of the hollow box girder sandwich composite, allow the heating plate stack to be moved on all sides, i.e. to be fully enclosed with pairs of profiled sheets and thus to promote even greater stability.

One embodiment of the invention provides that one profile sheet of the pair of profile sheets undulates and the other profile sheet is corrugated. A pair of profiled sheets is therefore always composed of a stronger and a less corrugated profiled sheet, and if there are several pairs of profiled sheets on the corresponding package sides, the two types of profiled sheet are arranged alternately one on top of the other.

A preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the profiled sheets are connected to one another by welding spots. The two Sheets of a pair of profiled sheets or several pairs of profiled sheets can be connected to one another by the spot welding process in an automatic manufacturing process to form the dimensionally stable hollow box girder composite body and thus to form the package-enclosing brackets, at the points where the sheets touch each other at points. For thermal and fluidic reasons, the profiling of the undulated plate runs obliquely to that of the corrected plate. Spot welding can take place as soon as the two profiled sheets, which can be produced, for example, by the method known from DE 41 22 949 A, lie one on top of the other. Instead of spot welding, two or more profile sheets can alternatively be connected to one another by means of screws or rivets, for example.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the end faces of the horizontal bars lie at the same height as the end faces of the radial walls of the cells of the heating surface support. The large dimensional stability of the heating plate package achieved by the sandwich box sandwich composite creates the prerequisites for the level arrangement of the horizontal bars of the heating plate packages with the cell walls on the upper and lower end of the heating surface support. This results in an additional radial sealing contour and correspondingly less media leakage, depending on the number - usually two - of the parallel horizontal bars. This is because it no longer only seals a single cell wall of the heating surface support against the respective radial sealing plates, but also the mounting flat irons of the horizontal bars of the heating plate bundles that are parallel to the radial walls of the cells and that align flush with the top and bottom edge of the heating surface support. The horizontal bars thus increase the number of sealing lines per radial seal and cell of the heating surface support, as a result of which the volume flow in the area of these seals due to the pressure drop is reduced, which contributes to a reduction in leakage.
