Description
The invention relates to a heat exchanger, in particular a cooler for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, that of one of a variety of parallel to each other in two each covered by a coolant box Tubes held tubes and from across these tubes running, spaced slats assembled finned tube block, which is perpendicular to its to the sides of the tube sheets with at least one fastening strip is provided, which consists of two L-shaped strip parts exists, which snap together to form a U-profile connectable and at the approximately 90 ° angled ends the slats are clamped with comb-like projections.
Heat exchangers of this type are known from EP 0 401 590 B1. There are side parts of the finned tube block in this way assigned, which are held on the slats, with Fastening legs and with openings for fastening of the cooler. The side parts form U profiles, whose legs are directed outwards.
Heat exchangers (EP 0 219 021 B1) are also known which are associated with a fan cover are provided, which are in front of the finned tube block sits. This fan cover comes with the top and connected to the lower water tank with the help of locking hooks. In this design, the two water boxes are over side panels connected to a frame.
The arrangement of a fan hood in front of the finned tube block makes it required this fan cover, even if it was in as well known way about bolts with the water boxes is connected to the dimensions of the water tanks and the Adjust finned tube block. This requires that for Heat exchangers of different performance and therefore also with different sized finned tube blocks, different Types of fan covers must be available, their Manufacturing different tools and thus a relative high effort required.
From DE-A 22 33 737 it is also known a fan cover with fan and motor drive in a similar way on a finned tube block to attach like that previously for attachment of side parts on the finned tube block based on EP 0 401 590 B1 has been described. In DE-A 22 33 737 for fastening the fan cover at least on one side screwed frame parts are provided, each with inward projections to engage engage in corresponding incisions of the ribs and thus one Cause positive locking. The fan frame is attached across the entire width of the finned tube block to in this way the most even possible distribution of the in operation to achieve occurring reaction forces on all ribs.
The invention is based, heat exchanger with the task to design fan hoods assigned to the finned tube block in such a way that the adaptation of the fan cover to different dimensions of the finned tube block is not required.
To solve this problem is the case of a heat exchanger provided that the mounting strip Part of a fan cover is the finned tube block with the inside borders directed legs, on the slats for attachment the fan cover is held, and that the fan cover only on one side of the finned tube block, on the other Side, however, is attached to one of the coolant boxes. This configuration opens up the possibility of the fan cover to assign only a part of the area of the finned tube block, because it turned out in many applications that the forced by a fan and regardless of the wind caused flow of the for the internal combustion engine provided cooler not necessarily over the entire area of the finned tube block must be done. This configuration allows it for example for cross flow coolers, their power increase due to the larger width and therefore a longer one Pipe arrangement is achieved, only one fan hood type provide that only covers a certain length of pipe and then depending on the width of the cooler a more or less large one Leave part of the finned tube block free. Through this configuration but can be a series with a single fan hood type of coolers of different capacities, what contributes to a significant simplification of production. In The attachment points can be a further embodiment of the invention for attachment to the coolant box on the side the fan hood protruding tabs are attached, which in can advantageously be provided with stiffening ribs, in the direction of the axes of the tubes of the finned tube block up to a frame enclosing the fan blades pass. This measure makes the attachment very stable the fan cover via the assignment to a water tank reached. The attachment to the slats complements this one-sided Attachment.
It is, after all, simple and possible great material savings for the production of the fan cover to reach also the frame at the of the attachment points on the coolant box facing away from one to allow the outer hood boundary edge to be affected by the from the two fastening strips comprising the finned tube block run towards the coolant box. These mounting strips can have a length that is smaller than the radius of the fan frame. This embodiment can be produced with a minimum of material.

Die Kühlmittelkästen (7 und 8) können aus Kunststoff bestehen.1 to 3, a heat exchanger (1) is shown, the is designed as a cross flow cooler and for cooling the coolant an internal combustion engine, not shown serves a motor vehicle. The heat exchanger (1) exists from a finned tube block (2), which is not shown in detail Way of several, in the direction of the axes (3), but not shown tubes and from perpendicular to these Slats (4), which are parallel to each tube plate (5 and 6) run in which the ends of the towards the axles (3) extending pipes are kept sealed. The tube sheets (5 and 6) are each from a coolant box (7 or 8) covered, each in a known manner is tightly connected to the tube sheets (5 or 6). Coolant can therefore the coolant box via a feed opening (10) (8) are supplied, then flows through in the direction of the axles (3) extending pipes and leaves the coolant box (7) through the nozzle (9). The two coolant boxes (7 and 8) are each with an attached tab (11) provided, via a mounting of the cross flow cooler (1) in the vehicle. The coolant boxes (7 and 8) can are made of plastic.
The finned tube block (2) is in the flow direction (12) A fan cover is used to cool the coolant (13) downstream from one in a cover arranged frame (14) and from within this frame Hub (16) held by spokes, in which a drive motor (17) is mounted for a fan, the blades of which (18) circulate within the frame (14).
The fan cover (13) is on the coolant box (7) facing end with two the coolant box on the outflow side overlapping tabs (19) provided on the side Protrusions (20) of the coolant box (7) rest and connected to them with screws. From the tabs (19) go from stiffening ribs (21) to one of the fan frames (14) surrounding frame (22). On the one of the tabs (19) facing away from the fan cover (13) into an outer edge running parallel to the slats (4) (23) extend over and from this outer edge (23) two pieces of mounting strips (24) to the inside of the fan cover (13). The direction of the axes (3) of the pipes seen length of the mounting strips (24) is smaller than the radius of the frame (22) surrounding the fan arrangement.
Den Fig. 3 und 4 kann entnommen werden, daß diese Befestigungsleisten (24) aus zwei Schenkelteilen (24a und 24b) bestehen, wobei der Schenkel (24a) fest mit der Lüfterhaube (13) verbunden ist und der Schenkel (24b) Teil eines kammartigen Leistenstückes (25) ist, das mit kammartigen Vorsprüngen (26) zwischen benachbarte Lamellen geschoben ist, deren um 90° abgebogene Enden (27) in einer Nut zwischen den kammartigen Vorsprügen (26) und einer Anlageleiste (28) aufgenommen werden und mit einer Rastlasche (29) in einer Vertiefung (30) des Außenteiles der Befestigungsleiste (24) einrastend gehalten ist.3 and 4 can be seen that these mounting strips (24) consist of two leg parts (24a and 24b), the leg (24a) being fixed to the fan cover (13) is connected and the leg (24b) part of a comb-like Last piece (25) is that with comb-like projections (26) is pushed between adjacent slats, the ends (27) bent by 90 ° in a groove between the comb-like Presses (26) and a plant bar (28) added be and with a locking tab (29) in a recess (30) of the outer part of the fastening strip (24) engages is held.
The fixed part of the mounting strip (24) has in Area above a leg part (24a) comb-like projections (26), the comb-like projections (26) of the second Corresponding to the last part (25). The bent outer edges (27) of the slats (4) are therefore on both sides of the Parts of the mounting strip (24) gripped and held and in this way the fan cover (13) on the finned tube block secured on the side facing away from the coolant box (7) become. Fixing the bent ends (27) of the individual slats (4) takes place in the same Way like that, but for the arrangement of a side part with the outside facing away from the finned tube block Legs are known from EP 0 401 590 B1.
As can easily be seen from FIG. 1, is sufficient the fan cover (13) does not cover the entire face of the Finned tube block (2). The one to the right of the edge (23) Part of the finned tube block remains from the fan cover (13) uncovered. This design therefore has the advantage that the fan cover (13) would also fit on a cross cooler, which is much wider than the cooler (1) shown and the area not covered by the fan cover (13) would therefore extend further to the right. By the new design can therefore use the same fan hood type different coolers can be combined without one Adaptation to the cooler dimensions would be necessary.
It is of course also conceivable, contrary to the teaching of the claims, the fan cover only through mounting strips, such as the mounting strip (24) to attach to the finned tube block and on a Do not attach the coolant box. You would have to the fan cover (13) on the left side in FIG. 1 assign another pair of mounting strips (24). Of course, it is also not absolutely necessary to use the fan cover (13) to end with an outer edge (23), which the frame (22) is tangent. Again, it would be possible to use the outside edge (23) move more to the right so that the fan frame (14) approximately in the middle of the width of the fan cover lies. It is crucial that one and the same fan hood type by the type of attachment to the finned tube block for different Widths of coolers can be used, so that not a different fan cover can be assigned to each cooler type got to.
Finally, it would also be conceivable for the fan cover (13) parallel in the area outside the frame (22) to share the pipe axes (3) and telescopic slidable to each other, but can be locked together To build parts, so that also an adjustment of the fan cover attachment to the height of a cooler is possible if this is desired. In all cases it is a prerequisite that the attachment at least partially in the described Way on the fins (4) of the finned tube block (2).
Die mit den Öffnungen (31) versehene Lasche des Leistenteiles (25') wird dabei in eine Nut zwischen den Teilen (24' und 37) eingeschoben, um die abgewinkelten Enden (27) zu verklemmen.5 to 7 show other ways of assembling of the two parts of the strip (24) for the purpose of jamming the bent ends (27) of the slats (4). 5 shows for example the possibility of the comb-like strip part (25 ') with an insertion tab with openings (31) and this insertion tab then with the aid of a rivet (32) firmly with an outwardly projecting leg part (37) of the fastening strip (24 ') to connect. The one with the openings (31) provided tab of the last part (25 ') is in a groove is inserted between the parts (24 'and 37) to clamp the angled ends (27).
Fig. 6 shows a modification in that here Leg (37) of the embodiment of FIG. 5 as a short Leg piece (38) remains, the outer edge (36) as Stop for the now directly on the outside of the angled edges (27) slidable comb-like partial bar (25 '') is used. This bar (25 '') is insertable Provide leg portion that has a gap in the a terminal block (34) can be inserted from the outside when the End position as shown in Fig. 6 is reached. On in the opening (35) latched projection (39) of the bar (25 '') is then secured in this locking position.
Fig. 7 shows a very similar to the embodiment of the Fig. 6 constructed variant, but in which the individual snap-in openings or grooves (35) through a fine grid (33) are replaced, with which it becomes possible to insert position the sub-bar (25 '' ') to be able to fine-tune before the Safety strip (34) is inserted.
