  • An embossing die which tucks the cover sheet material into the peripheral groove on the base member is chamfered at one corner so as not to tuck the material into the groove as far at that location. This serves as the point at which the user may grasp the flexible cover sheet and detach and remove it from the base member.
  • a tip of embossing die is designed to "iron out" wrinkles that form naturally during the actual pressing of the foil. In other words, simply tucking foil will cause wrinkling, but this die deforms (draws) the material during insertion so that no wrinkles appear.

Imparting pressure against the flexible cover material in this region may also assist in detaching the former from its engagement with the base member.

Claims (8)

  1. Verpackung zur abgedichteten Aufbewahrung zumindest einer hydrophilen Kontaktlinse in einer sterilen wäßrigen Lösung umfassend:
    a) einen spritzgepreßten oder thermisch geformten Kunststoff-Grundkörper (10) mit einer Vertiefung (16) zur Aufnahme einer Kontaktlinse, welche in der Lösung eingetaucht ist, wobei jeder der Grundkörper (10) einen Flansch (12) aufweist, der sich vom Außenumfang der Vertiefung (16) nach außen erstreckt, die Vertiefung (16) aus einer Einprägung besteht, die sich aus der Ebene des Flansches (12) eines jeden der Grundkörper (10) heraus erstreckt und in der Ebene des Flansches (12) eine durchgehende Rille (24) ausgebildet ist, die sich unmittelbar innerhalb der Außenkante des Flansches (12) befindet und
    b) eine flexible Deckelfolie auf die Grundkörper (10) aufgelegt und derart dimensioniert ist, daß sie mit einem Oberflächenbereich des Flansches (12), der sich rund um die Vertiefung (16) erstreckt, dicht verbunden, jedoch abnehmbar ist, wobei die Deckelfolie Bereiche aufweist, die ausgerichtet zur Umfangs-Rille (24) in diese eingepreßt sind, um einen weitgehenden gemeinsamen Klemmeingriff mit dem Flansch (12) zu erzielen; wobei die flexible Deckelfolie weiterhin derart dimensioniert ist, daß sie eine Vielzahl von Grundkörpem (10) zur Aufnahme einer bestimmten Anzahl von Kontaktlinsen in einer streifenartigen Anordnung miteinander verbindet und sich diese Deckelfolie gemeinsam über die Vielzahl der Grundkörper (10) erstreckt sowie mit jedem Flansch des jeweiligen Grundkörpers (10) dicht verbunden ist.
  2. Verpackung nach Anspruch 1, bei welcher die flexible Deckelfolie eine derartige Ausdehnung hat, daß sie innerhalb der Außenkanten der Grundkörper (10) liegt.
  3. Verpackung nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, welche einzelne Blister umfaßt, deren jeder eine einzelne Kontaktlinse enthält.
  4. Verpackung nach Anspruch 1, bei welcher die flexible Deckelfolie derart ausgebildet ist, daß sie mit einer Vielzahlt von Grundkörpern (10) in einer koplanaren Anordnung verbunden werden kann.
  5. Verpackung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, bei welcher die flexible Deckelfolie allgemein eine Rechteckform hat.
  6. Verpackung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, bei welcher der Flansch (12) rechteckig und die Vertiefung (16) im geformten Kunststoff-Grundkörper (10) innerhalb des von der durchgehenden Rille (24) umschlossenen Bereiches zu einer Kante des Flansches (12) hin versetzt ist.
  7. Verpackung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, bei welcher der Flansch (12) eine allgemein ebene Oberfläche hat, an welcher die aufgelegte Deckelfolie kontaktierend anliegt.
  8. Verpackung nach Anspruch 7, bei welcher zwischen der Deckelfolie und der ebenen Oberfläche des Flansches (12) eine Abdichtung ausgebildet ist, welche die Umfangskante der Vertiefung (16) dicht umschließt.
