De manière à obtenir un résultat optimum, le rapport d'intensité lumineuse entre rouge possédant une longueur d'onde de l'ordre de 635 à 685 nm et rouge lointain possédant une longueur d'onde de l'ordre de 705 à 755 nm, doit être d'au moins 1, et le rapport entre rouge possédant une longueur d'onde comprise entre 635 et 685 nm et bleu possédant une longueur d'onde d'environ 400 à 500 nm doit être d'au moins 1 pour le spectre de lumière utilisé.
