Abstract

The adjacent leaves (10,10') hinge together via profiled portions (20,20') on them which fit together. Each such portion comprises a first flange extending radially from near the hinge axis (40), and onto which a curved slide surface joins. The slide surfaces are close together when the leaves are parallel. The leaves are thrust apart at right angles to the hinge axis when they are parallel, in which position the hinge axis can be to the rear of their outer surfaces (12,12'), and typically by one or more leaf (60) or coil springs or plastic and elastic components bearing against them. The springs can be coupled between flanges (24,24') on the profiled portions, engaging in grooves (26,26') formed in them.
