Dabei ist es zweckmäßig, bei Ablauf des wählbaren oder vorbestimmten Zeitverzögerungswertes diesen Ablauf akkustisch und/oder optisch zu signalisieren, um auf den eingeleiteten Ausschaltvorgang aufmerksam zu machen. Dabei kann das entsprechende Signal auch über den Abschaltzeitpunkt hinaus zumindest optisch aufrechterhalten werden, um dem Verderb von ggf. noch eingelagerter Ware entgegenwirken zu können. Sicherheitshalber ist die entsprechende Einrichtung zur Ausschaltzeitverzögerung so aufgebaut, daß der Vorgang der Zeitverzögerung nur abläuft, solange ein Auslöseglied manuell betätigt wird. Ist die Zeitdauer dieser Betätigung kürzer als der voreingestellte Auslösezeitwert, schaltet die Einrichtung zweckmäßigerweise selbsttätig in den Ausgangszustand zurück, in welchem der voreingestellte Zeitverzögerungswert wieder aktiviert wird. Eine Abschaltung ist also nur dann möglich, wenn eine ausreichend lange Zeitspanne das Auslöseglied betätigt wird. Kurzzeitige Betätigungen des Auslösegliedes sind demnach unbeachtlich. Nach dem Start muß dieser selbsttätig zurückstellende Tastschalter bis zum Ablauf der Verzögerungszeitspanne in betätigter Stellung gehalten werden, wenn eine tatsächliche Abschaltung eines entsprechenden Versorgungsstromkreis für das Kühlgerät erreicht werden soll. Zweckmäßig ist es dabei, zusätzlich oder alternativ neben der optischen Anzeige auch eine akkustische Anzeige zu steuern, die während des ablaufenden Zeitverzögerungswertes ein Signal abgibt, so daß nicht die optische Anzeige beobachtet werden muß und auch dritte Personen Kenntnis nehmen können. Die Steuerung des Ablaufs der Zeitverzögerungszeit wird vorzugsweise durch einen Mikroprozessor vorgenommen, der die entsprechenden Anzeigeelemente in Abhängigkeit von der Betätigung des Tastschalters steuert. Dabei ist es zweckmäßig, den Status des Gerätes bzw. des betreffenden abzuschaltenden Geräteteils in einem Speicher abzuspeichern, insbesondere in einem EEPROM, das zu Kundendienstzwecken abgefragt werden kann. Die Anzeige des Zeitverzögerungswertes kann hierbei auch im Wechsel mit einer Temperaturanzeige im gleichen Display und mittels der gleichen Anzeigeelemente vorgenommen werden.   7. Cooling appliance according to claim 6, characterised in that the display emits an optical and/or acoustic signal if the time delay value is changed.
  8. Cooling appliance according to claim 1 or one of the subsequent claims, characterised in that the device is constructed in the manner of a monostable flip-flop or RC-controlled Schmitt trigger.
  9. Cooling appliance according to claim 1 or one of the subsequent claims, characterised in that the device is capable of being set manually without time delay from the 'off state to the 'on' state, in which the switching off time delay is prepared.
  10. Cooling appliance according to claim 9, characterised in that the touch contact (5) controls the mains switch into the 'on' position.
  11. Method of controlling a cooling appliance according to claim 1 or one of the subsequent claims, characterised in that a mains switch connected into the electrical supply current circuit is switched off with delay after a manually released start of a time delay device if the starting condition is maintained beyond the pre-set time delay value and in that the mains switch is switched on selectively without switch-on delay.
