Claims (13)

  1. A device for severing a paper web, which is wound onto a first drum (11), and for initiating winding of the paper web on a second, empty drum (12), severing of the paper web (10) being effected by means of a tear strip (20) or the like, the free end (20a) of which may be moved by means of a conveying apparatus from one side of the paper web to the other along a guide rail (34) located beneath the paper web and oriented perpendicularly thereto and may be attached to the second drum, whereupon it is wound helically thereon, whereby the paper web is severed and transferred to the second, empty drum, characterised in that a carriage (36) is guided along the guide rail (34), which is constructed with a holding device (41, 42) for the tear strip (20), whereby the free end (20a) of the latter may be conveyed from one side of the paper web (10) to the other side.
  2. A device according to claim 1, characterised in that a support (40) for two clamping jaws (41, 42) of the holding device is arranged on the carriage (36), one of the clamping jaws (42) being arranged swivellably on the support (40).
  3. A device according to claim 2, characterised in that the second clamping jaw (42) may be swivelled on the support (40) with respect to the first clamping jaw (41) and against the action of a restoring spring (46).
  4. A device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the carriage (36) is guided within the guide rail (34), the guide rail (34) being constructed with a slit (37) through which there passes a support for the holding device (41, 42).
  5. A device according to any one of claims 2 to 4, characterised in that the guide rail (34) is surrounded beneath the paper web (10) by a housing (49), in the inside of which there is located the support (40) for the holding device (41, 42).
  6. A device according to claim 5, characterised in that the housing (49) is closed on the side which faces the empty spool (12) by means of a flap (50) which may be swivelled away.
  7. A device according to any one of claims 4 to 6, characterised in that the slit (37) in the guide rail (34), through which there projects the support (40) for the holding device (41, 42), is located on a first side, in that the holding device (41, 42) is located approximately below the guide rail (34) and is openable towards the other side, and in that the openable flap (50) is located on the other side of the housing (49).
  8. A device according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the guide rail (34) is attached to a base rail (31), which extends below the paper web (10).
  9. A device according to any one of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the carriage (36) may be moved along the guide rail (34) by means of a cable (30) or the like.
  10. A device according to any one of claims 1 to 9, characterised in that the cable (30) is endless, one strand passing inside the guide rail (34) and the other strand passing inside the base rail (31).

A device according to any one of claims 2 to 10, characterised in that the holding device is formed of two clamping jaws, which are constructed as rollers (41, 42) mounted rotatably on the support (40), one of said rollers (41, 42) being provided with a reverse stop and one thereof being drivable.
