Claims (29)

  1. Double branch tapping box (1) for a ribbon cable (2), which covers one cable plane,
    having two branch sockets (3, 4) for one plug belonging to a line to be branched off in each case, and
    having at least one contact element
    seated in the branch tapping box housing and
    interacting with a metallic contact sleeve (7; 71-75) that forms one pole of the branch socket (3, 4)
    to make electrical contact with one cable way (6; 61-65) in the ribbon cable (2),
    characterized in that
    the two branch sockets (3, 4) are lined up in a row in the plug-in direction (8) with their insertion openings (9, 10) facing away from each other, forming a dividing joint (11), and
    in the installed position, a clamping clip (12) with a U-shaped cross section uses two clamping arms (13), which are opposite each other in the plug-in direction (8) and form the limbs of the U, to hold the two socket housing parts (14, 15) in close contact with each other in the manner of a vice.
  2. Branch tapping box according to Claim 1, characterized in that the clamping clip (12) can be put onto the socket housing parts (14, 15) with clamping arms (13) that protrude in the direction of the cable plane covered by the ribbon cable (2).
  3. Branch tapping box according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the two clamping arms (13) of the clamping clip (12) engage in a socket housing part (14, 15) each.
  4. Branch tapping box according to Claims 1 - 3, characterized in that in the installed position, the clamping clip (12) is latched to the socket housing (14, 15), in particular releasably latched.

Branch tapping box according to one of Claims 1 - 4, characterized in that the clamping clip (12) is a one-piece component of a covering cap (16) which can be put onto the socket housing parts (14, 15) from an actuating side (17) of the contact element and insulates the actuating side (17) and has cap side walls which run transversely with respect to the plug-in direction (8) and act as clamping arms (13), the contact element being accessible for actuation from the actuating side (17) when the clamping clip (12) is removed.
  6. Branch tapping box according to Claim 5, characterized in that
    the covering cap (16) has two further cap side walls (18) that run in parallel in the plug-in direction (8), and
    in the installed position, these cap side walls (18) interact with recesses in the socket housing parts (14, 15) in the manner of spring hooks (19) in order to latch the covering cap (16).
  7. Branch tapping box according to either of Claims 5 and 6, characterized in that the contact element is a pointed screw (5; 51-55) which can be screwed in from the actuating side (17), at right angles to the cable plane.
  8. Branch tapping box according to Claim 7, characterized in that on the inner side of the cap there is integrally moulded a flanking projection (24)
    which is pin-like, in particular cylindrical, and
    in the installed position, flanks the screw head (25) of the tightened pointed screw (5; 51-55).
  9. Branch tapping box according to Claim 7 or 8, characterized in that, on the socket housing (14, 15) there is integrally moulded a guide funnel (26) which is open towards the actuating side (17) and accommodates the head (25) of the pointed screw (5; 51-55).
  10. Branch tapping box according to Claim 9, characterized by a hollow cylindrical guide funnel (26).
  11. Branch tapping box according to Claim 9 or 10, characterized by an installation height of the guide funnel (26) such that its funnel rim (27) facing the actuating side (17) supports the inner side of the covering cap (16) in the installed position.
  12. Branch tapping box according to one of Claims 8 - 11, characterized in that the flanking projection (24) engages in the guide funnel (26) in an approximately form-fitting manner.
  13. Branch tapping box according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the first socket housing part (14, 15) has a spring hook (28) which runs in the plug-in direction (8),
    whose latching end (29) forming the actual spring hook, faces away from the second socket housing part (15, 14) in order to latch detachably with a plug housing in the plug-in direction (8), and
    whose fastening end, opposite the latching end (29) is captively supportively mounted in the second socket housing part (15, 14).
  14. Branch tapping box according to Claim 13, characterized in that the spring hook (28) is U-shaped with a U-shaped plane running parallel to the cable plane,
    the transverse yoke of the U forming the latching end (29), and
    the free ends of the limbs of the U forming the fastening end.
  15. Branch tapping box according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the contact sleeve (7; 71-75) penetrates both socket housing parts (14, 15) in the plug-in direction (8) as the same pole for both branching sockets (3, 4).
  16. Branch tapping box according to Claim 15, characterized in that in the installed position, the contact sleeve (7; 71-75) is mirror-symmetrical with respect to an axis of symmetry running along the dividing joint (11).
  17. Branch tapping box according to Claim 15 or 16,
    characterized in that the contact sleeve (7; 71-75) is rotationally symmetrical with respect to its longitudinal mid-axis (30) running in the plug-in direction (8).
  18. Branch tapping box having a multi-pole branch socket, according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the contact sleeves (7; 71-75) lie in a single plane.
  19. Branch tapping box according to Claim 18, characterized in that the plane of the contact sleeve and the cable plane run in parallel.
  20. Branch tapping box according to one of Claims 7 - 19, characterized in that at least one thread (23) for a pointed screw (5; 51-55) in each case is arranged on the contact sleeve (7; 71-75).
  21. Branch tapping box according to Claim 20, characterized in that a contact lug (31) which is preferably integrally moulded in one piece on the contact sleeve (7) and protrudes radially from the contact sleeve (7) contains the thread or threads (23).
  22. Branch tapping box according to Claim 20 or 21, characterized in that
    the plug-in direction (8) runs at right angles to the cable longitudinal direction (32) of the ribbon cable (2), and
    the distance between two immediately adjacent threads (23) of the same contact sleeve (7; 71-75) and the distance between two immediately adjacent cable ways (6; 61-65) are approximately the same size.
  23. Branch tapping box according to Claim 22, characterized in that the number of threads (23) is at least as great as the number of cable ways (6; 61-65).
  24. Branch tapping box for a ribbon cable (2) according to one of the preceding claims, having a bottom shell (33) which, in the installed position, is detachably fastened to an underside (35) of the branch tapping box housing and embraces the cable sheath (21) of the ribbon cable (2) transversely with respect to the cable longitudinal direction (32), characterized in that the bottom shell (33) can be pushed into its installed position from one housing side wall (34), transversely with respect to the cable longitudinal direction (32).
  25. Branch tapping box according to Claim 24, characterized in that the underside (35) of the housing has an L-shaped cross section
    with a housing base (37) running in the transverse direction (36) as the first limb of the L, and
    having a marginal strip (38) that protrudes beyond the housing base (37) and limits the displacement travel of the bottom shell (33) as the second limb of the L.
  26. Branch tapping box according to Claim 24 or 25, characterized in that the bottom shell (33) contains an encoding strip (39) running approximately in the cable longitudinal direction (32).
  27. Branch tapping box according to one of Claims 24 - 26, characterized in that the bottom shell (33) embraces the cable sheath (21) in a form-fitting manner.
  28. Branch tapping box according to Claim 27, characterized in that the bottom shell (33) has a U-shaped cross section with the transverse yoke of the U running in the transverse direction (36).
  29. Branch tapping box according to Claim 28, characterized in that the bottom shell (33)
    can be pushed into its installed position in the transverse direction (36) and
    in the installed position, engages with the free ends (41, 43) of its limbs in complementary recesses (42) in the branch tapping box housing, in particular the underside (35) of the housing, for example latches with the branch tapping box housing.
