Abstract

A tight container (3) comprises a cover (4), a receptacle (5) and a fastening (6) joining them together. The receptacle is subdivided into cavities by radiating partitions and it encircles the cover (2), whilst being off-set with respect to it. A key or wrench (63) makes it possible to rotate the radiating partitions and successively bring the cavities in front of the cover, to allow for successive filling when the receptacle is rotating. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a sealed container, as well as an assembly composed of this container and a suitable support.

The waterproof containers we are talking about here are used to transport dangerous products in complete safety and consist of a receptacle, a cover and a clamping part which unites the two previous parts. The clamping part is provided with means for locking to a wall of a safety enclosure from which the products to be placed in the container are removed. In a manner known per se, in particular in the nuclear industry, the wall of the enclosure is formed with an opening closed by a door on which the cover of the container is coupled so that they are removed together to communicate the enclosure and receptacle.

The disadvantage of these sealed containers is however that they are difficult to fill correctly and rationally: their volume remains partly unoccupied. The invention therefore relates to a sealed container of the kind mentioned above but free from this defect. For this, the receptacle has a circular section eccentric with respect to the cover and more extensive than that of the cover, and the receptacle is divided into cells which extend over sectors of a circle. In addition, the radiating partitions which limit the cells are movable in the receptacle by turning under the action of a control system. The filling therefore consists in successively placing the cells in front of the cover before filling them.

More specifically, the subject of the invention is a sealed container composed of a cover, of an envelope on an opening of which the cover is mounted, the opening being offset from the opening of a median axis of the envelope, and of a barrel rotating in the envelope around the median axis, the barrel being divided into compartments eccentric with respect to the opening and able to come successively in front of the opening when the barrel rotates, characterized in that the casing carries a clamping part provided with means for locking to an enclosure wall, the barrel is terminated by a disc external to the casing, centered on the axis and situated, along the median axis, d 'a side opposite to the opening, the disc being provided with holes for receiving key pins and covering a portion of the envelope provided with other holes for receiving key pins, which can extend the previous ones.

It will be appreciated that this arrangement lends itself to very convenient use of the container.

In the assembly consisting of the container and a suitable support, the key is advantageously arranged on the support and composed of a rotating axis in the support, a fork provided with lugs directed towards the bores and a steering wheel of rotation of the key, the steering wheel and the fork being located at opposite ends of the axis.

  • la figure 1 est une vue en coupe longitudinale de l'ensemble du conteneur ;
  • la figure 2 est une vue en coupe transversale du réceptacle et d'éléments adjacents ;
  • la figure 3 illustre l'accouplement de la porte et du couvercle, de la paroi et de la partie de bridage ;
We will now move on to a detailed description of an embodiment of the invention, illustrated in the figures, among which:
  • Figure 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of the entire container;
  • Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view of the receptacle and adjacent elements;
  • Figure 3 illustrates the coupling of the door and the cover, the wall and the clamping part;
  • and Figure 4 illustrates the filling of one of the cells.

As illustrated in FIG. 1, an enclosure wall 1 is provided with an enclosure door 2 mounted on hinges in front of which is shown a container 3 according to the invention. The container is composed of a cover 4, a cylindrical receptacle 5 and a clamping part 6 uniting the cover 4 with the receptacle 5.

The method of locking the container 3 to the enclosure wall 1 and its removal are explained below but succinctly because this system is not original (see FIG. 3).

The container 3 is coupled to the enclosure 1 by means of claws 14 and 15 which overlap one another by a rotation movement of the clamping part 6. This rotation locks the cover 4 on the enclosure door 2 thanks to other claws 7 and 8, carried by these parts, which overlap one another, and simultaneously unlocks the cover 4 of the clamping part 6 because other claws 12 and 13, carried by these pieces, free from each other. A rotation of a crown 38 carried by the enclosure wall 1 releases tenons 10 of the enclosure door 2 trapped in grooves 11. This rotation is controlled manually by means of a protective glove fixed on another opening located on another face of the enclosure wall 1.

The communication between the enclosure 1 and the container 3 is established by the opening of the enclosure door 2, maneuvered manually through a glove protection, by means of a handle 9 illustrated in FIG. 1 and situated on the enclosure door 2, inside the enclosure. The enclosure door 2 and the cover 4 remain fixed to each other and remain hermetically sealed by their surfaces which open to the outside when they are separated, so that these surfaces are never reached by the contaminating products. which can contaminate the interior of the enclosure and the container 3, in particular in the nuclear industries for which the invention is primarily designed.

When the filling of the container 3 is completed in the manner which will be described later, the enclosure door 2 on which the cover 4 is fixed is closed by means of the handle 9 and the crown 38 is manually rotated which locks the enclosure 2 door by trapping the pins 10 in the grooves 11.

Une rotation manuelle de la partie de bridage 6 déverrouille le couvercle 4 de la porte d'enceinte 2 en libérant les griffes 7 et 8, verrouille simultanément le couvercle 4 à la partie de bridage 6 grâce aux griffes 12 et 13 et déverrouille également la partie de bridage 6 de l'enceinte 1 en libérant les griffes 14 et 15.Manual rotation of the clamping part 6 unlocks the cover 4 of the enclosure door 2 by releasing the claws 7 and 8, simultaneously locks the cover 4 to the clamping part 6 thanks to the claws 12 and 13 and also unlocks the part clamping 6 of the enclosure 1 by releasing the claws 14 and 15.

The enclosure door 2 and the clamping part 6 are each provided with a respective lip seal 16 and 17 said to have a double effect and which has a substantially planar side, respectively 39 and 40, and a slightly conical side, respectively 41 and 42. The substantially flat sides 39 and 40 are exposed to the outside when the container 3 is detached from the enclosure but are supported respectively on the cover 4 of the container 3 and on the enclosure flange 18 of the opening. of enclosure wall 1 when the coupling is established. They are therefore never exposed to contamination when the cover 4 and the enclosure door 2 are open. The slightly conical flanks 41 and 42 are then contaminated, but they are supported respectively on a surface of the enclosure flange 18 and on a surface of the cover 4 when the cover 4 and the enclosure door 2 are replaced then separated, so that no dirt from the outside is produced. Joints 16 and 17 are touched by a ridge of negligible width located at the junction of the sides.

We return to Figures 1 and 2 for a description of the original parts of the invention.

The receptacle 5 is composed of a cylindrical wall 19 and a bottom 20, and it has a circular section which circumscribes that of the cover 4 while being substantially more extensive than it and eccentric with respect to it. The interior of the receptacle 5 is divided into cells 21 by radiating partitions 22. The cells 21, the sections of which correspond to adjacent sectors of a circle, can be placed successively in front of the cover 4. Their dimensions are chosen so that no can place only one cell at a time in front of the cover 4.

The interior of the receptacle 5 is in fact occupied by a rotating barrel 45 composed of a central pin 46, fairly narrow peripheral circular walls 47 and radiating partitions 22 which unite the circular walls 47 with one another and with the central pin 46. The pin 46 is coaxial with the receptacle 5 and extends over almost its entire length. It also crosses the bottom 20 and widens outside in a disc 48 provided with axial holes 49. The disc 48 is housed in a hollow 50 of shape bottom circular 20, in which other holes 51 have been established which can extend the previous 49.

An O-ring 52 encloses the pin 46 at the crossing of the bottom 20 and therefore insulates the interior of the container 3. Finally, the circular walls 47 of the rotating barrel 45 rest on that 19 of the receptacle 5 while maintaining perfect centering of the barrel 45 in the receptacle 5.

Le réceptacle 5 reste immobile, bloqué par le pion d'indexage 60.It is generally envisaged to use the container 3 after having placed it on a lifting table 54 which belongs to a device of known type. Two supports 55 and 56 are screwed to the lifting table 54 to support the container 3. The first, close to the cover 3, is notched and carries on its sides two surfaces 57 tangent to the same circle, on which a crown 58 of the part clamping 6, centered on the cover 4, is supported while being able to rotate. The second carries a support pin 59 of the lower generator of the receptacle 5 under the bottom 20, an indexing pin 60 in the axis of the cover 4, able to sink into a recess 61 of the bottom 20 and to be removed by pulling on a handle 62, and a key 63. The latter is used to turn the barrel 45. It is composed of an axis 64 coaxial with the pin 46 and the opposite ends of which carry a handwheel 65 and a fork 66. The axis 64 is longer than the bore of the support 56 in which it is engaged. It slides there in addition to turning there, and it has grooves 67 in which an eccentric disc 68 mounted on the support 56 can penetrate to block the axis 64 in three positions. In the first position, illustrated in FIG. 1, the fork 66 is located in front of the disc 48 without touching it, which makes it possible to place the container 3 on the supports 55 and 56 or to remove it, after having retracted the pin indexing 60. In the second position where the teeth 69 of the fork 66 have penetrated into the holes 49 and 51, the barrel 45 is blocked in the receptacle 5, which makes it possible to load or unload conveniently the alveolus 21 in front of the opening of the container 3 In the third position, intermediate to the previous ones, the teeth 69 only penetrate into the holes 49 of the disc 48: the receptacle 5 is always blocked and the barrel 45 rotates with the handwheel 65 to successively place the cells 21 in front of the cover 4. The receptacle 5 remains stationary, blocked by the indexing pin 60.

A movable lever 70, provided with lugs 71 engaged in two holes 72 in the bottom 20, ensures an overall rotation of the container 3, when the key 63 is in the first position, to lock and unlock the claws 14 and 15 or place the container 3 at the desired angular position, where the recess 61 extends in front of the indexing pin 60.

Il est alors temps de tourner le barillet 45 pour amener un nouvel alvéole 21 devant l'ouverture du conteneur 3 et placer ainsi les autres partiellement devant la partie de bridage pour que leur contenu ne puisse pas s'échapper.FIG. 4 illustrates a step of filling the container 3 during which, the enclosure door 2 and the cover 4 being removed and set aside, one of the cells 21, at the bottom in the figure, was filled by two roughly cylindrical cutting residues 75 and 76 which have been stacked there horizontally. It is then time to turn the barrel 45 to bring a new cell 21 in front of the opening of the container 3 and thus place the others partially in front of the clamping part so that their content cannot escape.

A filling rate much greater than for known containers is obtained with the latter, especially if the cells 21 have shapes and dimensions adapted to the objects they have to collect. These objects are, for example, waste solid nuclear. In addition, the lifting table 54 fitted with supports 55 and 56 offers excellent maneuvering possibilities.
