Abstract

This method comprises the steps of (i) providing a peelable transfer layer (12) on an electrophotographic sensitive material (11) made up of at least a supporting member (1) and a photosensitive layer (2); (ii) forming a toner image (3) of one or more colors on the transfer layer (12) by use of an ordinary electrophotographic process; (iii) transferring the toner image (3) to a primary receptor (20) together with the transfer layer (12); and (iv), transferring the toner image (3) to a final transfer material (30) together with the transfer layer (12). Thus a color image is obtained. In this way, a copy of color image having a high-definition and high-quality is obtained without any color misregistration so that the color image can be easily transferred irrespective of the kinds of the final material to which the image is transferred. Also, there are no remains of toner image, thus allowing repeated use of the photosensitive element and intermediate medium.
