Derartige Spannvorrichtungen sind bspw. nach der DE-A-25 55 207 bekannt. Für die An- und Zuordnung des Spannarmes zum Kopfstück bestehen zweierlei Bauarten:
Mittige Anordnung des Spannarmes im gabelförmig ausgebildeten Kopfstück (DE-A-30 22 376) oder seitliche Anordnung des Spannarmes am hohl ausgebildeten Kopfstück in einem dort seitlich herausragenden Stellwellenende, dessen Stellwelle mit dem Betätigungselement (in der Regel pneumatischer Betätigungszylinder) in entsprechender Weise gekoppelt ist. Soweit bekannt, sind auch bei letztgenannten Spannvorrichtungen die Halterungsausnehmungen am Kopfstück, sofern überhaupt vorgesehen (siehe DE-A 25 55 207), in gleicher Weise wie bei der anderen Vorrichtungsart vorgesehen, d.h., die Halterung solcher Vorrichtungen mit seitlich angeordnetem Spannarm erfolgt quer zu dessen Erstreckungsrichtung, und es ergibt sich ein Versatz zwischen Spannarm bzw. dem daran angeordneten Druckstück und der Werkstücksauflage, die bzw. umgekehrt die Vorrichtung dadurch einer quer zum Spannarm wirkenden Drehmomentbelastung unterworfen wird, was bei der anderen Bauart nicht der Fall ist.

daß die Halterungsausnehmung (5) in der Flankenfläche (6) des Kopfstückes (1) angeordnet ist, auf deren Seite auch der Spannarm (3) auf einem aus dem Kopfstück (1) herausragenden Stellwellenende (7) gelagert ist, und daß die Werkstücksauflage (9) mittig zur den Spannarm (3) schneidenden Mittellängsebene (E) angeordnet ist.
