Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a water-saving device for water closets with a lifting handle actuator for discharge of an optional amount of water, comprising actuator means fixed to the lifting rod and mobile in relationship to each other.
  • This kind of device is known from FR, Al , 2 609 297, where the flushing is controlled by a concentric tube mounted around a rod.
  • the rod and tube are connected with a valve and mobile in relationship to each other.
  • the tube is conncected to an actuation flange.
  • the valve opening is limited (d) , and a partial flush is discharged.
  • the knob causes the rod to open the valve more (D) , thereby discharging a full flush.
  • 211 510 a flushing device for flush- ing different amounts of water is known, where the lift is limited by a leverarm engaging the lifting rod bene ⁇ ath the push-button, and a full flush is obtained by pushing the push-button.
  • the object of this invention is' to show a cheaper and more simple lifting-device, for optional flushing, which can be mounted on an ordinary lifting rod, found in water closets with a lifting handle actuator.
  • a lifting device including a cup-shaped part screwed onto the lifting rod, the cup- shaped part having an actuation-flange, an internally mounted push-button affected by a spring to repel the cup-shaped part's bottom from the push-button, and push-elements mounted through holes and adjustably fixed to the push-button.
  • the obtained unit is screwed onto the lifting rod of an ordinary water closet after the removal of the normal actuator-button.
  • the cup-shaped part's bottom is supported by a fixed support on the toilet .
  • the push-button When flushing, the push-button is pushed (e.g. with the thumb) and the cup-shaped part's flange is lifted and pressed up against the push button.
  • the push- elements stay in their position supported against the toilet.
  • the lifting rod is raised to a height limited by the push-elements.
  • the button is held in this posi ⁇ tion for as long as a partial flush is wanted.
  • the push-elements will be in the form of screws, mount ⁇ ed through holes in the cup-shaped part and screwed into the bottom of the push-button.
  • the amount of water to be used when using the partial flush is adjustable by changing the length screwed into the push-button.
  • the screws are sunkscrews, which are sunk into an lie against the bottom of the cup-shaped part when the push-button is in passive position.
  • the push-button is situated inside the cup-shaped part fixed by the pressure of the spring and the sunkscrews sunk into the cup-shaped part.
  • the screws make it possible to adjust the amount of water to be discharged during a partial flush, and the screwheads are supported by a fixed support on the toilet .
  • the spring is supported by a recess situat ⁇ ed in the central part of the cup-shaped part, and an axial recess in the push-button (5). This means that the actuator is very sturdy.
  • Fig. 1 shows a cross-section of the invention in a passive positon
  • Fig. 2 shows a cross-section of the invention during a partial flush operation
  • Fig. 3 shows the invention during a full flush opera ⁇ tion.
  • Fig. 1 shows a cross-section of a water-saving device including a cup-shaped part (1) with connection ele ⁇ ments (2), e.g. threads, for the lifting rod (3).
  • the cup-shaped part (1) has two holes (10) for the push-elements (4), e.g. screws, which are screwed on to the push-button. Between the cup-shaped part (1) and the push-button (5) a spring (7) is mounted to repel the cup-shaped part (1) and the push-button (5) from each other.
  • the screwheads (8) are supported by a fixed support (9) on the toilet when the push-button (5) and the cup- shaped part (1) are pressed together, thereby lifting the cup-shaped part (1) and the lifting rod (3) a limi ⁇ ted distance. In fig. 3, the cup-shaped part is pulled so that the lifting rod (3) activates a full flush.
