Description

The invention relates to a device for delivering specimens from a paddle wheel to form a shingled specimen stream, with at least one endless chain guided around a drive shaft of the paddle wheel, the individual chain links of which are evenly spaced from one another.

From the state of the art, EP 0 059 873 B1, a device for removing printed copies from the paddle wheels of a folder has become known. This device has a plurality of paddle wheels arranged side by side on an axis. In addition to each of these paddle wheels, an eccentric disk is accommodated with respect to the axis of the paddle wheels. This disk carries a stop wheel, which can be driven via an internal toothing with a predetermined transmission ratio. The stop wheels rotate at a lower circumferential speed in comparison to the paddle wheels, so that the specimens still immersed in the forward movement and immersed in the paddle wheel pocket are already braked before they have reached the bottom of the pocket. The entire length of the paddle wheel pockets can therefore not be used to reduce the kinetic energy inherent in the specimens.

Due to the fixed gearing ratio between the stop wheel and the respectively assigned paddle wheel, it is hardly possible to change the braking characteristic; further the implementation of a toothing face the high manufacturing costs as a disadvantage.

The second embodiment disclosed in EP 0 059 873 B1 shows grippers, which are received on the stop wheel in the region of the stops and which clamp the front edge of printed copies. The grippers are controlled by roller levers rolling on a fixed control cam and are associated with disproportionately high mechanical expenditure.

Die oftmals lediglich einfach bedruckten Zeitungsexemplare sind dann gegen Verschmieren relativ unempfindlich.EP 0 164 440 shows a rotary delivery for picking up newspapers at high speeds. A plurality of arc-shaped cantilever fingers are arranged on a central cantilever arm, each forming individual pockets between them, into which the newspapers to be laid out are immersed. In the area of the pocket base of each pocket formed by two cantilever fingers, spring-loaded clamps are arranged. The clamps are pushed back by the newspaper spine dipping into the bag. Since the clamps are spring-loaded, the newspaper spine is clamped between it and an adjacent cantilever finger. In the case of newspapers consisting of several newspaper layers, the porosity of the newspaper has a favorable influence on the ink receptivity, particularly in gravure printing. The often simply printed newspaper copies are then relatively insensitive to smearing.

In the case of offset printing, the printing substrate is partly printed with two layers of ink on both sides, the outermost layer of which has not yet fully hardened even after passing through a dryer. With such copies, there is a risk of the outer printed image surfaces being smeared by the clamping bracket. Therefore, the mechanical stress on the specimens by this device from the prior art is unfavorable and therefore makes them suitable for display from Offset process printed copies at least problematic.

Finally, EP 0 307 889 B1 has disclosed a device for issuing printed copies from the paddle wheels of a folder. This document is based on the preamble of claim 1. At least one cam segment is arranged there so that a chain is guided around the drive shaft of the impeller. Angle and clamping pieces are arranged on the chain at the same distance from each other, which can be brought into operative connection with the blades. According to this teaching, the specimens entering the paddlewheel pockets are first gripped and aligned by angles fastened to the chain; the clamping piece acting on the specimens from the top presses them onto the shovel blade on which they rest. The specimens are therefore pressed out of the paddle wheel pockets onto them during their movement, so that, despite the Teflon coating on the inside of the impeller blade, smearing or scratching of the underside of the specimen is not completely excluded.

On the basis of the outlined disadvantages of the prior art, the object of the invention is to achieve a display of specimens which is gentle on the material and takes place with a precise scale spacing, using the kinematics of moving delivery components.

According to the invention this is solved in particular by the characterizing feature of claim 1.

An advantage of the solution according to the invention is that jamming of the specimens in the pockets can be avoided; when pushed out of the individual paddle wheel bags, they are only subject to their own weight and not to any force pressing them against their base, which increases the friction. Furthermore, the specimens accommodated in the pockets only rest on the edges of the protrusions of the chain links with their fold backs - that is, their most stable area. Since the front edge of each specimen is supported by the projections of the corresponding chain link, damage to the specimen front edge, for example by kinking, is excluded.

In order to support the smooth sliding of the specimens on conveyor belts arranged below the paddle wheels, the projections of the chain links are provided with a rounded contour; this can be, for example, a circular settlement, an involute. The individual paddle wheels and at least one first planet wheel of the chain are accommodated on an axial sleeve that is adjustable relative to the drive shaft. A rotatability of the axial sleeve on the drive shaft enables the entry area of the specimens into the individual paddle wheel pockets to be adjusted relative to the entry zone B. The position of the chain is also adapted at the same time. It is also possible to change the phase position between the paddle wheels and a first planetary wheel after loosening the adjusting means.

A second planet wheel of the chain is also adjustable relative to the surface of a conveyor belt. In order to achieve this, an arrangement accommodating the second planetary wheel can be displaced in recesses in the bearing arms. Furthermore, inner edges of the pockets in the paddle wheels each run parallel to one another; Inlet funnels are formed in the outer circumferential region of the blade wheels between the inner edge of an airfoil and the outer contour of the previous airfoil. These allow the specimens to be laid out to enter the pockets of the paddle wheels more easily.

The rotational speed of the conveyor belt on which the specimens are laid out exceeds the rotational speed of the projections of the chain links of the chain. This ensures that the front edge of the individual specimens is pressed against the projections of the chain links until the projections leave the exit zone A; the rounded contour of the protrusions of the chain links favors this release process. Since the specimens already overlap each other, a change in the overlap distance is also excluded. The guidance of the specimens on the conveyor belt is maintained as long as possible.

Another favorable property of the device according to the invention is that the individual chain links of the chain are connected to one another by releasable connecting elements, such as snap locks. This can shorten or lengthen the chain; A change in the angle of inclination of the chain is also possible.

Fig. 1 shows the representation of a paddle wheel with an underlying conveyor belt.

An entry zone A is located above the paddle wheel 2; The exit zone A lies below the impeller 2, above a conveyor belt 5. The impeller 2 is driven by a drive shaft 3, on which a first planet wheel 6 of a chain 1 is also arranged. The chain 1 consists of chain links 20 which are connected to one another in an articulated manner and each have a projection, each of which has an edge contour 8 (see FIGS. 3 and 4). The chain 1 also rotates around a second planet gear 23, which is mounted in a shaft 12, which in turn is held by a lever 10. An axis 13 is fastened to the lever 10 and can be moved horizontally in an elongated recess 11 of a bearing arm 24. After loosening a locking washer 14, the axle 13 can be moved in the recess 11 like a link, depending on the length of the chain 1.

The recess 11 is located in the lower part of a bearing arm 24 which is penetrated by an axis 27. On this axis 27 there is also a further bearing arm, not shown in FIG. 1. By means of a Adjusting flange 28, the axis 27 is attached to a side wall 29 of the folder.

In the impeller 2, a pocket 30 is delimited by blades 2.1 and 2.2. The inner contour 15 of the airfoil 2.1 and the outer contour 17 of the airfoil 2.2 define an inlet funnel which favors the entry of the specimens 4 into the individual pockets 30. The profiling of the pockets 30 caused by the inner contour 15 and the outer contour 17 slows down the specimens 4 before they strike the pocket base 16. Due to the rotation of the paddle wheels 2 in the direction of the arrow, the front edge of each specimen 4 reaches a projection of the chain link 20 from above. The front edge of the specimen is therefore underpinned and supported; the downward movement of the chain 1 in connection with the further rotation of the paddle wheels 2 causes the specimen 4.1 to be pushed out of the pocket of the paddle wheel 2. In the case of copies 4.2 and 4.3, pushing out is very advanced; copy 4.4 is just about to leave the paddle wheels and overlap copy 4.5 already on the conveyor belt. The specimen 4.5 is further pressed against the angled projection of the chain link 20, which is provided with the guide surface 8, by the conveyor belts 5 rotating at a somewhat higher speed, based on the rotational speed of the chain links 20 of the chain 1. This continues until copy 4.4 has largely overlapped copy 4.5. Only then does the protrusion of chain link 20 leading specimen 4.5 move out of exit zone A and releases the front edge of specimen 4.5.

Accordingly, each copy 4 to be interpreted is only released after it has been released by a subsequent one Copy 4 is partially overlapped. A change in the overlap distance is then generally no longer possible, so that a high overlap accuracy can be achieved.

An adjustment of the projections of the chain links 20 of the chain 1 to the top of the conveyor belt 5 is possible by adjusting the second planet wheels 23. After loosening a locking washer 14 (see FIG. 2), the axis 13 is displaced horizontally in the recess 11 of the bearing arm 24. As a result, the lever 10 inclines, on which the shaft 12, which supports the second planetary gears 23, is received. On the one hand, retensioning of chain 1 is possible; on the other hand, the period of time in which the projections of the chain links 20 remain in the exit zone A can also be extended. In this way, for example, the display behavior of copies with only a few pages and made of thin printing material can be specifically improved.

Fig. 2 stellt eine Draufsicht auf die erfindungsgemäße Vorrichtung dar.2 shows a top view of the device according to the invention.

The drive shaft 3 is mounted in a side wall 2 of the folder; the adjusting flange 28, which supports one end of the axis 27, is also received on this. The bearing arms 24 are supported in bearings 26 on the axis 27 and are received at the opposite end in roller bearings on an axial sleeve 19 which is rotatably fastened on the drive shaft 3. to carry out the rotation of the axial sleeve 19, the screw connection on the disks 18 must be loosened; the paddle wheels 2 together with the first planetary gears 6 can then be rotated, for example in order to influence the entry angle of the specimens 4 into the pockets 30 in the entry zone B (see FIG. 1).

A first planet wheel 6 is connected to two paddle wheels 2, around which the chains 1 rotate. The paddle wheels 2 and a first planet gear 6 each are penetrated by screws 7, after their loosening it is possible to influence the phase position between the first planet gear 6 and the position of the paddle wheels 2.

Furthermore, two product guides 25 are received on the circumference of the axial sleeve 19. The second planetary wheels 23 are held by roller bearings 9 on short shafts 12, which in turn are connected via a lever 10 to axes 13 which can be displaced horizontally in recesses 11. To move the second planetary gears 23, only the locking washers 14 have to be loosened and locked again after making the movement.

Figur 3 zeigt perspektivisch dargestellte Ansichten miteinander verbundener Kettenglieder.Figure 3 shows perspective views of interconnected chain links.

In Fig. 3, the rounded contour C of the projections of each chain link 20 can be seen. The rounding of the guide surface 8 of each chain link 20 facilitates the release of the copies 4. The chain links 20 are each provided with a recess 22, through which a plug axis 21 can be guided in order to connect individual chain links 20 to one another. If - as shown here - the recesses 22 are designed as snap locks, the chains 1 can be shortened or lengthened as desired. The angle of inclination of the projections of the chain links 20 can also be varied with respect to the specimens 4 accommodated in the pockets 30. An exact adjustment of a shortened or extended chain 1 is ensured by the displaceable arrangement (10, 12, 13), which receives the second planet gears 23.

The individual chain links 20 are simple and inexpensive to manufacture from plastic; the snap locks 21, 22 enable simple assembly and disassembly of the chain 1.
