  1. Key switch in accordance with one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the cover (15) engages into the open end (14) of the housing (11) and is preferably held in form-fitted manner perpendicular to the direction of entry by the housing, with a seal (33) preferably being provided around the margin of the cover (15), which seals the cover (15) relative to the housing.
  5. Key switch in accordance with one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the cover (15) is supported inwardly at the housing (11) on abutments (29, 29').
  6. Key switch in accordance with one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the cover (15) is preferably releasably held at the housing (11) against removal or extraction out of the housing (1).
  7. Key switch in accordance with claim 6, characterized in that the cover (15) is preferably held by a single fastener element, in particular a screw (28) on the securing plate (24) located in the end position, and is in particular clamped relative to the securing plate (24), for which purpose a threaded hole (52) is preferably provided in the securing plate (24) and is axially aligned with the screw (28) in the latched position of the securing plate (24).
  8. Key switch in accordance with one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the switch (17) is held by the securing plate (24) against movement towards the open end (14) of the housing (11), in that it preferably secures the switch (17) between itself and the base (16) of the housing (11).
  9. Key switch in accordance with one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the switch (17) preferably has axial bores (48) at two diametrically oppositely disposed positions, by means of which it can be mounted on pins (49) arranged on the base (16) of the housing.
  10. Key switch in accordance with one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the securing plate (24) or the housing (11) has recesses (43) which cooperate with projections (29) complementary thereto at the housing (11) or at the securing plate (24) in such a way that the securing plate (24) can be inserted in the unlatched position axially into the housing (11) until it comes into contact with abutment surfaces (41') of ribs (41) provided at the housing (11).
  11. Key switch in accordance with claim 10, characterized in that the guide projections (29) in the housing (11) or the guide recesses at the housing end in the region of the axial end position of the securing plate (24), and the securing plate (24) has solid regions which can be displaced perpendicular to its direction of entry under the guide projections (29) or with the guide projections under regions of the housing lying adjacent the guide recess for the purpose of axial locking.
  12. Key switch in accordance with one of the preceding claims, characterized in that cylinder lock (12) can be fixed in preferably two different axial positions at the cover (15).
  13. Key switch in accordance with one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the securing plate (24) can also be inserted into the housing (11) in an inverted arrangement turned through 180° about a central axis (35) lying in its plane and is preferably made symmetrical to this axis.
  14. Key switch in accordance with claim 12 or claim 13, characterized in that the securing plate (24) extends by different amounts rearwardly in its two insertion positions in the regions where the nose (13) can engage behind it in such a way that for each of the two axial positions of the cylinder lock (12), one of the two insertion positions of the securing plate (24) permits the nose (13) to engage behind the securing plate (24) with the smallest possible axial clearance.
  15. Key switch in accordance with one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a cover plate (31) is provided on the front side of the cover (15) with a cut-out (32) for receiving the front end region of the lock cylinder (12).
  16. Key switch in accordance with one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the securing plate (24) has two nose cut-outs (45) symmetrical to the central axis (35) lying in its plane, of which one is in each case axially aligned with the insertion cut-out (23') of the actuating counterpiece (23) of the switch (17) in such a way that the nose (13) of the lock cylinder (12) can be axially introduced into the insertion cut-out (23') of the actuating counterpiece (23) on axial alignment with the relevant cut-out (45).
