Claims (8)

  1. Process for the protection of the blanket of an offset machine during the usage of perforating, cutting or similar strips, said process using counterpart strips fastened to the blanket, at the places where the perforating strips come to bear,
    characterized in that the counterpart strips (13) are made of steel and have a thickness of some tenth of a millimeter and are temporarily fixed to the surface of the blanket (4) by an adhesive layer (14) deposited on one of their faces.
  2. Process for the protection of the blanket of an offset machine during the usage of perforating, cutting or similar strips, said process consisting in placing on the blanket (4), at the places where the perforating strips come to bear, of counterpart strips (13) temporarily fixed to the surface of the blanket by means of an adhesive layer (14) deposited on one of their faces,
    characterized by the fact that the other face of the counterpart strips (13) is covered with a double-sided adhesive (16) so as to ensure placement according to a sequence comprising the following steps :
    - the realization of a dummy using a sheet (8') on the recto of which the lines of perforation and/or (pre)cutting (20) are marked,
    - the temporary fixing on the recto of this dummy, by means of the double-sided adhesive (16), of the counterpart strips (13), these being placed in such a manner as to follow and cover the lines of perforation and/or (pre)cutting (20),
    - the passage through the printing machine of the dummy thus realized, after removal, if present, of the protective strip (15) on the adhesive layer, so that in the course of this passage the counterpart strips (13) come to adhere to the blanket (4) at the place they must occupy, and that the double-sided sheet (8') to which it remains attached, by reason of the difference between its power of adhesion to the paper of the dummy and the constituent material of the counterpart strips.
  3. Process according to claim 2,
    characterized by the fact that the sheet (8') used to make the dummy is previously passed through the printing machine equipped with the perforating and/or cutting strips (10) so that the lines of perforation and/or cutting are visible in relief on the recto of the sheet.
  4. Process according to one of the previous claims,
    characterized by the fact that it also comprises a phase of adjustment of the pressure between the blanket (4) and the counter-pressure cylinder (5), previous to the passage of the dummy through the machine.
  5. Device for the protection of the blanket of an offset machine during the usage of perforating, cutting or similar strips,
    characterized by the fact that it comprises at least one counterpart strip (13), made of steel and having a thickness of some tenth of a millimeter one face of which is equipped with adhesive means (14) so that it may be temporarily attached to the surface of the blanket (4) at a place where a perforating or cutting strip comes to bear.
  6. Device according to claim 5,
    characterized by the fact that the face of the counterpart strip (13) which is situated opposite the above-mentioned adhesive means is coated with a double-sided adhesive (16).
  7. Device according to claim 6,
    characterized by the fact that the above-mentioned adhesive means (14) and the above-mentioned double-sided adhesive (16) are respectively protected by protective strips (15, 19) which may be removed on utilisation.
  8. Device according to claim 5,
    characterized by the fact that the steel strip has a breadth of several millimeters.
