These antibodies combine with the offending substances, called allergens (antigens) to manifest an allergic reaction. It has been a practice to extract these allergens from their source to be used for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

Abstract

Cette invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'extraits allergéniques (antigéniques) utiles pour effectuer une approche systématique en vue d'un diagnostic, d'une immunothérapie et de la surveillance de cette dernière chez des patients allergiques, ainsi que pour diagnostiquer d'autres dérèglements immunologiques. Ce procédé comporte une étape initiale d'extraction rapide pendant laquelle la plupart des matières inintéressantes du point de vue immunologique sont éliminées du soluté et jetées. Les restes allergéniques sont récupérés et extraits de manière répétée tout en conservant le soluté, ceci produisant une séquence d'extraits allergéniques qui sont puissants du point de vue immunologique.
