Description

The present invention relates to a shell ski boot comprising a shell bottom intended to wrap the foot and the heel and a rod articulated on the shell bottom and consisting of a front part and a rear part articulated around '' a common axis, the rod being provided with closing and tightening means constituted by a tensioning device mounted on the side of the rear part of the rod and acting on a cable whose ends are fixed on the sides of the front part of the upper, the shoe being further equipped with a strap surrounding the upper part of the upper.

Such a shoe is known from patent EP 0 407 336. The two parts of the upper of this shoe fit into each other. In patent application EP 93810775.2, a shoe of a slightly different type is described, the two parts of the upper of which close edge to edge. The rod is closed by means of a cable and a tensioning lever and the upper part of the rod is provided with a strap passing over the front of the rod.

In such shoes, the cable is visible between its two attachment points, which affects the aesthetics of the shoe. However, ski boots, like all pieces of clothing, are also fashion items whose appearance plays an important role, especially in their marketing. We can see this in the choice of colors, the use of curls of appearance and particular color, etc. On the other hand, an apparent cable must be practically wrapped or sheathed so as to be protected against possible blows from the sharp edges of the skis which could shear the strands.

The main object of the present invention is to make the cable as invisible as possible.

To this end, the ski boot according to the invention is characterized in that the points of attachment of the cable to the anterior part of the upper are located at the height of the strap, than the cable, over most of its race around the posterior part of the rod, passes at the height of the strap and is covered by the strap.

Thus, the aim is achieved without the use of additional means. As a corollary, the cable is protected by the strap and it is no longer necessary to use a sheathed or wrapped cable.

In order to ensure that the cable and the strap are always well superimposed, it is wise to guide the strap by passers-by and the cable by a groove on the back of the rod.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the shoe according to the invention.

La figure 1 représente une vue de la chaussure en position tige fermée et serrage relaxé.FIG. 1 shows a view of the shoe in the closed upper position and relaxed tightening.

Figure 2 is a detailed sectional view along II-II of the rear passage of the strap and the cable.

Figure 3 shows the same shoe in the open position.

The shoe represented comprises a shell bottom 1 with variable volume surrounding the foot and the heel and closing on the foot by two flaps not shown. On the bottom of the shell 1 is articulated, at the height of the malleoli, a rod 3 whose articulation is materialized by rivets 4. The rod 3 consists of a front part 5 and a rear part 6 both articulated in 4 and closing like the two parts of a box on the two sides of the shoe along two lines of joint 7 so as to form a collar, the front part 5 having for this purpose flaps as described in the French patent 2,673,081. The front part 5 of the upper forms a bridge at the rear, above the heel as described in the aforementioned patent.

A further distinction is made between the rear padding 8 secured to the rear part 6 of the upper and the protruding part 9 of the tongue of the inner comfort liner. In known manner, the parts 8 and 9 can be independent to form together a removable liner.

L'un de ces points 15 est visible à la figure 1.On the rear part 6 of the upper, on the outside of the shoe, is mounted a tension lever 10 acting on a cable 11. The tension lever 10 is of the type with two links 12 and 13 articulated on a support 14. This tensioning lever 10 is crossed by a loop of the cable 11 and it rocks in the direction of the rod. The tensioner is of known type and will not be described in more detail. The ends of the cable are fixed on each side of the front part 5 of the rod at two approximately opposite points. One of these points 15 is visible in FIG. 1.

Le câble 11 est ainsi fixé et guidé de telle sorte qu'il est recouvert par la sangle 12 sur pratiquement toute sa partie entourant la tige 3.The shoe is also equipped, in known manner, with a strap 16 which surrounds the top of the upper 3 so as to improve the tibial support of the leg. This strap has been interrupted in FIG. 1 to allow the cable 11 to be seen. The fixing points 15 of the cable 11 are situated at the height of the strap 16, so as to be covered by this strap. On each side, a little behind the fixing points 15, the front part 5 of the rod is provided with ears 17 having, on the one hand, a slot 18 forming a guide loop for the strap 16 and, on the other part, of a circular hole 19 for the passage of the cable 11. The rear part 6 of the rod further has, on its dorsal part, a small bridge 20 forming a guide loop for the strap 16, so as to maintain this strap at the proper height on the rod. Under the bridge 20, the rear part 6 of the rod also has a groove 21 of just sufficient length to guide the cable 11 and also maintain it at the desired height. The cable 11 is thus fixed and guided so that it is covered by the strap 12 over practically all of its part surrounding the rod 3.

The shoe is also equipped with a double loop 21 for tightening the upper and a similar loop, not shown, for tightening the bottom of the shell 1.

On voit que dans cette position également le câble 11 est caché sur la plus grande partie de sa longueur par la sangle 16.FIG. 3 shows the boot in the open position of the upper 3. It can be seen that in this position also the cable 11 is hidden over most of its length by the strap 16.
