Abstract

A switchboard cable (4) connected to a printed circuit board (1) projects into a notched passage (7) of the printed circuit board (1) in such a way that its center line coincides with the mid-plane of the printed circuit board. Clip-like clamps (3) are set on both sides of the printed circuit board, bridging the passage (7) and clamping the end of the cable. The individual leads (5) of the switchboard cable (4) can thus be guided in a stretched state to the connections (6) of the printed circuit board (1).

Description

The invention relates to a device for connecting and / or fixing an electrical cable screen or an electrical switching cable to a plate-shaped carrier part by means of at least one clamp-like clamping piece.
Such a device is e.g. made known by DE-PS 27 41 791. Then the cable is clamped between the clamp-shaped clamping piece and a flat support part. If you want the individual wires protruding from the cable along the support part e.g. lead to their connection points, this requires a double curvature first towards the circuit board and then a counter-curvature up to the parallel course to the circuit board.
For example, in the case of high-frequency cables with coaxial conductors, curvatures change the geometric relationship between the signal conductor and the conductor shield, which has an unfavorable effect on the wave resistance of the conductor.
The invention has for its object to let the wires emerge from the cable in the most straight possible way.
This object is achieved by the invention according to claim 1. The switching cable is now located in its central axis in the plane of the carrier plate, as a result of which the average exit height of the individual wires and thus their curvature is considerably reduced. The veins can to be stretched along the circuit board so that the wave resistance is hardly changed. Particularly favorable conditions are achieved if the individual wires are distributed over both sides of the carrier plate. The use of two clamping pieces makes it possible for the cable to be clamped largely uniformly around its circumference, as a result of which it is only slightly deformed. As a result, the geometry of the cable, in particular the position of the wires, remains largely unchanged, which has an advantageous effect on the impedance. The overall height of the device is also reduced by the thickness of the carrier plate. The carrier plate designed as a printed circuit board can have open shielding or ground layers at the points of contact with the clamping pieces, with which the clamping piece is contacted in large numbers and over a large area and which are connected to one another.
Through an advantageous development of the invention according to claim 2, the cable grommet is held in a simple manner between the two clamping pieces. This is made possible by inserting the cable grommet with its ring groove between the two clamping pieces before assembly. The cable grommet is then held in a form-fitting manner between the clamping pieces.
The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of the exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing.
Die Adern sind auf beide Seiten der Leiterplatte 1 verteilt und in weitgehend gestrecktem Verlauf zu den Anschlußstellen 6 geführt.1 shows a perspective view of an electrical assembly with connected switching cables, FIG. 2 shows a section through the parts according to FIG. 1 transversely to the cable ends. According to FIGS. 1 and 2, an electrical assembly serving as a cable connector consists of a printed circuit board 1, cover caps 2, a plug part (not shown) and clamp-like clamping pieces 3 between which the ends of two switching cables 4 are clamped with their exposed cable shield. Individual wires 5 of the switching cable 4 are guided from the cable end along the circuit board to connection points 6 of the circuit board. The clamping pieces 3 are located on the rear edge of the printed circuit board 1. This area is provided with openings in this area which extend in the manner of a notch to the rear edge of the printed circuit board. The switching cables 4 protrude into these openings 7. The two same clamping pieces 3 bridge the openings 7 and are attached to both sides of the printed circuit board 1, and are contacted with ground contact surfaces of the printed circuit board 1, the central axis of the cable end being in the central plane of the printed circuit board. The cores are distributed on both sides of the circuit board 1 and guided to the connection points 6 in a largely elongated course.
Along the back of the printed circuit board 1, the clamping pieces are provided with legs 8 bent at right angles, which extend perpendicular to the cables 4. These legs point in the opposite direction and are provided with recesses 9 for inserting cable grommets 10. They form a rear wall of the cable connector between the two cover caps 2.
