Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a wall made of molded blocks placed one on top of the other, in particular facing bricks, the shaped bricks or facing bricks having a plurality of vertical cavities delimited by webs. The invention further relates to a method for producing such a wall.
It is known to use plane bricks for producing a wall, the bricks having vertically extending cavities, which are each delimited by webs. The cavities result in a better thermal insulation value compared to solid bricks. The weight of the stones is also reduced, so that larger-sized bricks can also be processed, thereby accelerating the workflow.
If a layer of mortar with a thickness of about ten millimeters is arranged between the individual layers of stone, it results that a not inconsiderable part of the mortar mass falls into the cavities, which is undesirable. If facing bricks are processed, i.e. bricks that have a very flat surface and a uniform stone height due to additional measures, it is sufficient if the facing brick is laid in a thin layer of mortar of about two to three millimeters. This layer of mortar allows the stones to be aligned. The mutual cohesion of the individual stone layers is ensured. In general, no mortar is used between the individual stones of a stone layer. The individual stones rather interlock with projections and recesses, so that an adequate bond is obtained. The advantage of this design is that only very small mortar masses are used. The moisture introduced into the masonry is therefore low. The workflow is accelerated.
When laying the stone layers in thin-bed mortar, the problem now arises that the individual cavities of the stones standing on top of one another are connected to form long channels, some of which extend over one floor height. While the cavities are practically closed in a conventional, conventional mortar bed of around ten millimeters, this is no longer the case with a thin layer of mortar. The mortar only adheres to the end faces of the webs.
The resulting long, vertical channels worsen the insulation effect against heat and sound. A formwork pipe is obtained and a convection flow can also form in the long channels, which improves the heat transport.
The invention is therefore based on the object of further developing a wall of facing bricks in such a way that the disadvantages which may result from thin-bed mortar are avoided. However, all the advantages of this way of working should be retained.
To achieve the object, the invention is based on a wall of the type specified at the outset. According to the invention it is proposed that flat structures are provided between the stone layers, which at least partially close the cavities. Such a flat structure can be, for example, a film, which can be made of plastic or metal or another material.
By inserting such a flat structure in the joint between two stone layers, a secure closure of the cavities of the individual facing bricks is achieved. The flat structure already closes these cavities. On the other hand, the flat structure also serves as a base, for example, for thin-bed mortar, so that after curing, securely closed cavities are formed which only extend over a stone height.
If mortar is mentioned above, this should not be understood as restrictive. The invention can also be applied in the same way if glue is used between the individual layers of stone, the composition of the individual glue or mortar being freely selectable.
The invention is also applicable when the masonry is constructed as dry masonry, that is, when the individual stone layers are placed on top of one another without mortar. This construction also has the problem that the cavities provided in the finished wall can form long channels.
The invention is preferably applicable to facing bricks, that is to say those bricks which, by special measures, have exactly flat surfaces on the top and bottom. However, the invention is not restricted to such tarpaulin bricks. It can be used whenever the individual bricks allow processing in thin-bed mortar.
The invention is also not aimed exclusively at bricks. The invention can also be used when using other shaped stones.
It has been found that not only foils can be used as a flat structure. Nets, grids or braids can also be used for the purposes of the invention. It is in fact not necessary for the individual cavities of the individual stone layers to be completely closed in order to achieve the desired effect. Even if the cross-section of the cavities is greatly reduced in the area of the joint between the individual stone layers no significant convection flow can develop. Sound transmission is also greatly reduced or completely prevented.
Nets, grids or the like further give the advantage that the adhesive or mortar layers above and below the net or grate are connected by the openings in the net or the like, which improves the cohesion of the wall.
In the invention, the flat structures can also have a certain stiffness, so that they are plate-like and are placed as plates on a stone layer.
As a rule, the flat structures are placed in an adhesive or mortar layer and then covered by an adhesive or mortar layer. If the flat structures are grids or nets, it is sufficient in many cases to apply the adhesive or mortar layer only on one side, since the openings in the grid or mesh allow penetration to the other side of the flat structure, so that a secure bond between the individual layers of stone is guaranteed is.
Various materials can be used for the flat structures, for example metal foils, for example aluminum foils, and foils made of plastic, preferably polyethylene. The use of non-woven fabrics, cork, cardboard or foam is also possible. The use of non-combustible materials is generally preferred, but it should be noted that the flammability of the intermediate layer plays a subordinate role in view of the thin layers.
It is advantageous if the flat structures can be rolled off a supply roll.
The flat structures can also already comprise a mortar or adhesive mass for adhesion to at least one of the stone layers. In this way, the mortar or adhesive layer is also applied in the work step in which the flat structures are applied, which speeds up the workflow.
In particular, the invention provides that the mortar or adhesive composition can be activated when applied to the stone layer, that is, for example, moistened, so that the mortar begins to harden. Moistening can be an additional measure. However, it is also possible to combine the moistening with the removal from a supply roll. The moistening can also be carried out shortly before application in order to prevent the mortar or adhesive from falling off the flat structure when it is placed on the stone layer.
In another variant of the invention, the flat structure consists of a hot melt adhesive or has a hot melt adhesive layer. In this case, a heating process must be switched on, for example by means of conventional heating means, that is to say by means of radiators, warm air or the like. The hot melt adhesive can also be activated by heating the underside of the next layer of stone appropriately before placing it on.
In a further variant of the invention, the flat structure has a removable cover film on at least one side. By appropriately designing a supply roll, the cover film can be pulled off the supply roll when it is unrolled.
The above-mentioned application examples of the invention all agree in that flat structures are provided between the stone layers, these flat structures each being placed on the lower stone layer and being covered by the next stone layer.
However, the invention can also be implemented in another way, namely in that the cavities of the related shaped blocks, in particular the facing brick, are closed on one side. In this embodiment of the invention, specially prepared stones are used. For example, the facing tiles can be provided with a cover that is applied in a special operation. According to a special method for producing a facing brick for a wall according to the invention, it is provided that the cavities are coated on one side after the molding before the finished firing.
According to a further method for producing a wall according to the invention, in which shaped bricks, in particular facing bricks, each with a plurality of cavities delimited by webs, are stacked on top of one another, it is proposed that a film be placed on each layer from a dispenser and the next layer on the Foil is placed. With such a method, it is advantageous if the film is provided with adhesive when it exits the dispenser.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown schematically but not to scale.
It is part of a wall, partly shown in section.

The back-references given in the dependent claims indicate the further development of the subject matter of the main claim through the features of the respective sub-claim. However, these are not to be understood as a waiver of the achievement of an independent, objective protection for the features of the related subclaims.
Features that were previously only disclosed in the description can be claimed in the course of the method as being of importance for the invention, for example to distinguish them from the prior art.
