Description

The invention relates to a connecting element for connecting plate-shaped wall elements according to the preamble of claim 1.

In connection with the wall elements, passage doors are generally also used, which are integrated in the wall elements. This type of construction and application is often used in prefabrication, but it can also be used in the subsequent expansion of buildings. In this area in particular, the material glass is often used due to the visual impression. This applies to both the door and the surrounding wall elements. This type of construction creates, for example, an open, appealing office landscape flooded with light. Since the plate-shaped wall elements used cannot be installed in any size, these elements need to be joined virtually seamlessly.

Such a connection system can be found in US Pat. No. 5,163,257 for plastic plates, in which the plates are connected to one another in a non-positive and positive manner by strip-shaped connecting elements. The two connecting halves are U-shaped and are connected to each other by a connecting element in the joint area. For a decorative finish, the U-shaped area is covered by a cover.

The connecting elements are particularly troublesome in the case of flat glasses, because they usually have a strong visual appearance.

From EP-0 057 662 A1, a fitting for releasably connecting plate-shaped components has become known, which consists of two connecting elements, one connecting element half having a projection which projects into the butt region between the wall elements to be connected. Furthermore, the connecting elements have jaws, between which the components to be fastened are held together and connected. The one connecting element half is assigned a channel in which an intermediate piece is guided, and the other connecting element half is assigned a connecting hole, through which a screw engages in a thread assigned to the intermediate piece and which exerts the holding force, as a result of which the jaws rest on the edge of the wall element to be held act uneven forces that can easily lead to breakage in the case of glass panes.

Furthermore, the connecting elements are arranged locally at specific points along the edge of the wall element.

The disadvantage is that the jaws appear visually strong. Another disadvantage is that an open parting line is created. In particular, this results in the subdivision as e.g. in open-plan offices, strong air currents that negatively affect the indoor climate are sought.

The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a connecting element for plate-shaped wall elements, which does not appear visually, and for fixing the plate-shaped wall elements (preferably glass panes) does not require expensive glass cutouts, the parting line in the joint area is avoided, a sufficient Tolerance compensation of the glass panes must be given to each other and the glass panes are not exposed to stress caused by uneven contact of the jaws.

This object is achieved by the features of the characterizing part of patent claim 1.

With the proposed connecting element, an optically barely visible, easy-to-assemble and economically simple to produce connecting element is created in a captivatingly simple manner, and on the one hand, with air created with the connecting element according to the invention, drafts which act disadvantageously and, on the other hand, unfavorable loading of the wall elements are avoided.

When connecting the plate-shaped wall elements to each other, only one centering or half-hole is required for each connecting element, which can be drilled into the glass plate without great effort. The costly glass cuts, as are required, for example, from US Pat. No. 5,163,257 in the joint area of the glass plates, are not necessary for the object according to the invention.

A connecting element consists of two connecting element halves 10 and 15 which are inserted into the connecting bore 25 or 27 on one side of the glass walls to be connected. FIG. 10 shows a connecting element half 10, which consists of a circular element. These connecting element halves 10 and 15 can consist of a plastic, light metal or stainless steel or of all other materials which have the necessary strength. It is irrelevant whether the geometric shape is circular or whether it is appropriate for aesthetic reasons to design this connecting element in a different shape to match the fittings. For the sake of simpler treatment, the exemplary description below assumes a round connecting element. On the flat connecting element half 10 there is a projection 20, which is preferably should be circular, because this projection 20 projects into the wall element to be connected and is thus centered in the connecting bore 25 or 27 at the same time. For the further description it is assumed that the wall elements are glass-shaped elements, but it must be said that everything else plate-shaped material used can be used without further ado if it has the necessary stability as a wall element. So that no complex glass cut-out has to be sawn into the glass walls 5, it is advisable to prefer the more cost-effective method, namely the drilling of holes. The aforementioned projection 20 of the connecting element halves 10 is now inserted into this connecting bore 25, 27. From the other wall element side, the second connecting element half 15 must now be opposed. The connecting element halves 10, 15 or 22 are connected to one another in a non-positive and positive manner by a screw element, not shown, through the fastening bore 18. Due to the flat contact of the two connecting element halves 10, 15 or 22, the glass parts to be connected are securely held together.

Die Figur 11 zeigt die in Figur 10 dargestellte Verbindungselementhälfte 10 in einer Schnittdarstellung C-C, wo deutlich wird, daß der Vorsprung 20 auch zur Zentrierung der beiden Verbindungselementhälften, und damit für ein genaues Übereinstimmen auf beiden Seiten der Glasscheiben, herangezogen wird.FIG. 11 shows the connecting element half 10 shown in FIG. 10 in a sectional view C-C, where it becomes clear that the projection 20 is also used for centering the two connecting element halves, and thus for an exact match on both sides of the glass panes.

Die für dieses Beispiel notwendigen Verbindungsbohrungen 25 in der seitlichen Glaswand 3 und dem Oberlicht 8 zeigt die Figur 12a.FIG. 12 shows the connection of two connecting element halves 10 and 22 with the glass panes 3 and 8 lying between them. In this connection of the connecting element halves 10 and 22, a latching connection 23, which engages or clips into a blind bore 24, is shown. A snap connection 23 is readily applicable to the connecting elements if the necessary pressure of the connecting element halves 10 and 22 is exerted on the glass panes 3 and 8 for holding purposes. This can be achieved, for example, in that the latching connection 23 is under tension, and it is ensured by the gap 21 that the projections 20 between the glass panes 3 and 8 do not come together. The connection holes required for this example FIG. 12a shows 25 in the side glass wall 3 and the skylight 8.

A connecting element half 10 is shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, which not only has a projection 20 in the central region. Instead, there is a web 17 running over the entire connecting element half 10. This web 17 is used, for example, to be pressed between two glass walls 3 and 16 into the remaining gap 28 between these two glass panes. These connecting element halves 10 are connected by means of a connecting element via the fastening bore 18.

In this embodiment of the connecting element half 10, FIG. 7 shows the side view shown in section A-A.

A connecting element half 15, which is used to connect, for example, skylights 8 to glass doors 4, in which the laterally adjacent walls 14 are made of a different material, e.g. Masonry consist, is shown in Figure 8. Again, a continuous web 19 is shown in the semicircular connecting element half 15, which is either inserted into the joint between the wall and the glass part, or can also be so large with its leg 19 that it is attached to the wall, and the glass pane of the Skylight 8 is then connected to the connecting element half 15 via the connecting bore 25. FIG. 9 shows the lateral sectional illustration B-B of FIG. 8, and FIG. 9a shows the connecting bore 25 in the skylight 8.

With this arrangement, only one connecting hole 27 (FIG. 16) needs to be drilled in the skylight 9, but at the same time the skylight 8 and the side glass wall 3 can be connected to one another by the connecting element halves 29 inserted from each side via the fastening hole 18.

If there are heavy versions of wall elements, a double fastening option can also be selected, as shown in FIG. 13. This connecting element half 30 has two projections 20 which penetrate into the connecting bores 27 (FIG. 14) and are connected to one another via the fastening bores 18.

Figures 17 to 19 show a connecting element half 31 which can be attached to a wall via a web 19. First, the connecting element half 31 is to be fastened to the wall 14 by means of the screw connection 32. Next, the skylight 8 is plugged with its connecting bore 27 onto the projection 20 and a fastening plate is placed on the opposite side, which is connected via the fastening bore 18. In this embodiment too, the projection 20 lies away from the edge, so that only a circular connecting bore 27 is necessary.

As the preceding description of the subject matter of the invention shows, the connecting element can be used very universally, which is illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 5 in a non-exhaustive manner.

In addition, the door 4 is connected to a floor door closer 1, which offers a corresponding ease of access for the traffic groups using it. The glass door 4 is equipped with a handle 7 and a lock 6. Above the glass door 4 there is a skylight 8 which has the same width as the glass door 4. A stop 11 is attached to the skylight 8 as a stop for the glass door 4. On the left and right side of the glass door 4 there are side glass walls 3 and 5. These glass walls 3 and 5 extend from the floor to the ceiling of the application shown in the exemplary embodiment. However, in order that the side glass walls 3 and 5 can be properly connected to the skylight 8 located above the door 4, the connecting element halves 10, 22 described above are required. As already described, these connecting element halves 10, 22 are connected to one another in a non-positive and positive manner, that the skylight 8 is held by the side glass walls 3 and 5.

Another embodiment is shown in FIG. 2, where two side glass walls 3 and 5 are arranged next to the glass door 4, but these only extend to the height of the door 4. Above it is a skylight 8, which extends over the entire width of the side walls 3 and 5 and the door 4. This skylight 8 is also securely non-positively and positively connected via a corresponding number of connecting element halves 10, 22 to the side glass walls 3 and 5.

The use of double-leaf doors 12 and 13 within an all-glass system with the side glass walls 3 and 5 and the skylight 8 located above them can also be used, as this exemplary embodiment shows. In the exemplary embodiment 4, the use of the connecting element half 15 is shown, the door leaves 12 and 13 being located within a wall mix formed by the walls 14. In this case, the connecting elements are used, which are attached to the wall 14 on the one hand and then securely hold the skylight 8 on the other.

The design of a one-sided side glass upper part 16 is shown in FIG. 5, the side glass part 3 emerging from the floor being continued up to the ceiling of the room. It is also clear here that the connecting elements can be used universally.
