- the pin 7 passing right through the sleeve 7 and the inner shaft 3 allows a particularly solid connection of the cams 4 and 6 to the shaft 3. It is however possible to provide a fixing system using one or more pins of lesser length coming for example to be lodged in a corresponding blind hole carried by the internal shaft.
- the positioning of the pin 7 at the level of a bearing ensures a particularly simple and effective locking of the pin, preventing any accidental withdrawal once the camshaft in place, and therefore ensures completely reliable operation unlike the aforementioned prior art in which the fixing bolts can unscrew freely under the effect of vibrations affecting the operation of the composite shaft.
