Description

The invention relates to a liner for a container which can be closed with a lid and consists of thin-walled, flexible plastic, the upper edge of the liner being provided with an outwardly extending retaining collar.

Such linings of containers are known as flexible inner casings with cover films. So-called round-bottom bags with lid foils are used for cylindrical bodies, so-called shape inliners, which also enclose the edge of the vessel (vessel border), have proven useful for bulbous vessels. In order to keep the lid clean and to equalize pressure, a deep-drawn film is usually used, which is adapted to the inner shape of the lid and encloses the border. Such inner casings and cover foils are described in DE-OS 1813687.

The advantages achieved with these linings are primarily that the vessels are protected from contamination and can be used again immediately after the lining elements have been emptied and removed.

A major disadvantage of the separate assignment of inliners and cover foils is that the container edge (Bordur) is enclosed twice with foil. As a result, the necessary sealing effect is not infrequently impaired because the seal running around in the sealing groove of a container lid does not adequately compensate for the double foil overlay on the barrel edge. Another lack of sealing in film systems is the high surface sliding effect of flexible films made of high-pressure polyethylene (LDPE), which are mainly used because of their otherwise generally good properties. Even if this seal, as described in DE-OS 3838182, is introduced into the groove of the cover film, at least the capping and uncapping is hindered by the double film support, since the container cover, especially those made of plastic, are designed so that they primarily Seal the lid containers tightly without inliners and lid foils. The tolerances between the lid and the barrel border are accordingly narrow. The approval of a tested container design is tailored to this.

The object on which the present invention is based is to find a lining for wide-neck lid containers which avoids the disadvantages described above in terms of assignment and sealing, without neglecting their advantages.

This object is achieved in that an inwardly projecting, circumferential support edge is provided below the retaining collar, on which a cover rests. This new type of holding collar serves either as a level for thermoplastic connection with a cover film of any type or as a support for a loosely assigned film cut. It is crucial that the molded-on indentation is located immediately below the inner groove edge of a lid in order not to impair the fill level. The particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention also creates an often desired membrane effect for pressure equalization in the lid cavity.

Above all, a distinction must be made between the results of a seam connection at the level of the support edge and only a loose support of a suitable film cut.

With a firm seam connection, a hitherto unknown type of inliner is achieved. Closed film inliners were known with the disadvantage that they did not have a matching collar edge. Offered extensions of the film wall made it possible to turn the container over the edge of the container, but were very time-consuming and personnel-intensive to handle. Their design also often proved to be inadequate and filling was severely hindered, since the partition wall air could not escape from the area of the container wall / foil lining. Without this envelope over the edge of the container, such flexible film casings would be difficult to fill because they lacked stability. The problem could not be solved satisfactorily even with a protrusion of the welded top cover plate. In this case sealing problems were added, since the film overhang could only be accommodated with fold formation in the edge / groove area.

Similar but rigid inliners were able to avoid these edge fold and filling disadvantages due to the omission of the collar edge, but in their stable form they could often only be made with relatively thick walls and were therefore difficult to dispose of. After all, they were only suitable for cylindrical and other straight-walled vessels, since they could not be inserted into or removed from bulbous containers. The type of inliner on which the invention is based, on the other hand, fulfills all requirements for quick and fit design with simultaneous edge support, improved sealing requirements, perfect quick filling, proven emptying and clean, inexpensive disposal.

A seam connection between the inliner and the cover film can take place inside or outside a mold, as can the assignment of the required filling and emptying openings. A container of this type achieves other advantages, however, if the filling and emptying openings in the area of the cover film are shaped as a slip cup. If closures are inserted in this way, they cannot hinder the lid closure flush with the inside of the lid, they can survive transport better and they can be emptied more easily. The same functions can later be performed via a container replacement lid with corresponding openings and holding devices as with a bunghole lid barrel. The complete emptying is also possible because a clean disposal by removing the light, thin-walled and flexible inliner, which can be folded to a minimum volume after the remaining content has been pressed out via the closure opening and can then be closed drip-free with the closure cap.

The closure function is to be assessed differently via a loose cover film overlay. For the first time, a self-locking film disc can be placed on the neck of a container. If the exact dimensions are specified, the inner edge of the cover sealing groove presses onto the attached cover plate in the area of the inner circumferential plane of the retaining collar (Level of evasion). In many cases, this seal is sufficient to prevent fill materials from escaping into the upper deck area. It is also advantageous, however, to have a molded-on film disc with edges that are angled upward and then protrude into the groove. Finally, a foil cover disk can have a seal for the retaining collar or can be located thereon.

In special cases, it can be advantageous to pull a snap recess into the upper level of the holding collar in order to securely lock a counter-shaped upper film.

Another form of the cover film for locking purposes is conceivable if the holding collar itself serves as a locking element. Then the outer edge of the cover sheet must be formed with a uniform slight counter-evasion in order to snap under the retraction edge of the retaining collar when pressed on. As a result, the middle surface of the cover film lies slightly below the level of the holding collar.

The retaining collar itself can be designed in multiple forms. The upper level is generally flat / straight for the purpose of a thermoplastic connection, while the lower return can be guided in the same way or, due to the better removal from the mold, is returned to the inliner wall at an oblique angle or in an arc shape.

It should be emphasized that in both cases, namely an evasion or film lip for the purpose of a seam connection or for a loose covering of the cover film, the filling properties of the inliner are retained by the escape of intermediate wall air via welded-out cavity channels in the border collar of the inliner. This effect would be hindered when using a second molded cover film, as would a quick cover, since the cover air cushion does not have any outlet channels.

The invention is explained below with reference to the embodiments shown in the drawing.

A section through the upper edge of a container with a lid is shown in FIGS. 1 to 11. The container can have, for example, the shape shown in DE-OS 1813687 and a cylindrical shape.
