- the tubing 24 constitutes with respect to the tubing 18 a flange 27 which can cooperate with the rear end 28 of the cylinder 9 and this tubing 24 also has discharge holes 29, located at the front of this tubing 24.
- the regulation or pressure relief valve 11 which is arranged co-axially in the piston assembly 10, is constituted by a tube 30 having on the outer surface of the longitudinal grooves 31, this tube 30 being guided by its front part of smaller diameter 32 in the bore 33 of the tube 19 of the piston 10, by the outer surface of the grooves 31 in the bore 34 of said tube 18, by O-rings 35-36 housed in a circular cavity 37 in the tube 30 on the magazine tube 8 and by a support ring 38 for the spring 42 fixed on the rear end of the tubing 30 in the bore 39 of the tubing 24 of the piston 10.
- the tube 30 also has a stop 40 capable of cooperating with a circular surface 41 of the piston 10 under the influence of a return spring 42 housed in the tube 24 of the piston 10 between the support ring 38 bearing on the rear part of the tubing 30 of the valve 11 and said ring 26 fixed in the tubing 24 of the piston 10.
- the force exerted by the spring 42 on the valve 11 is adjustable by means of the ring 26 which can be moved relative to the tube 24 of the piston 10.
- part of the propellant gas from the cartridge is derived from the barrel 2 through the orifices 15-16 towards the piston 10 thus causing the displacement of the latter with the effect of a push on the sleeve 12 and thus on the rod 13 which then acts with its free end on all of the moving parts 14 which carry out, in a manner known per se, the various functions of ejection of the drawn socket, the resetting of the firing system and the supply in the barrel chamber of the next cartridge, after which, via the return spring 17 the piston 10 will be replaced.
- the rifle according to the invention has the advantages of improved sealing; a construction simple, efficient and compact, and a movement of the piston 10 and of the valve 11 in the same direction and the same direction, thereby reducing the recoil force.
