Abstract

PCT No. PCT/EP93/00096 Sec. 371 Date Aug. 15, 1994 Sec. 102(e) Date Aug. 15, 1994 PCT Filed Jan. 16, 1993 PCT Pub. No. WO93/15013 PCT Pub. Date Aug. 5, 1993The invention concerns a yarn bobbin with a rotationally symmetrical body the outside of which forms a surface which carries the yarn and which has a longitudinally protruding collar at one end. The aim of the invention is to design a bobbin of this kind which has the advantages of prior art bobbins but which, when wound, can be stacked with other, similar, bobbins without the yarn being damaged or snagged. The invention achieves this by virtue of the fact that the bobbin has, at its end with the yarn uptake, an additional collar which has the same external dimensions as the internal dimensions of the collar at the other end of the bobbin but is staggered radially inwards with respect to the yarn uptake, the collar being fitted with a yarn-reserve groove.

Description

The invention relates to a winding support for receiving yarns, with a rotationally symmetrical body, the outer surface of which forms a surface supporting the yarn, with a collar with an axially protruding collar and a thread reserve groove and a holder for the collar located at the other end.

Winding carriers of this type have become known from EP 0 201 826 A2. These winding carriers are each provided at their two ends with an annular toothing, the teeth of which protrude in the axial direction. The radially outer surfaces of the toothing connect continuously to the surface of the winding carrier carrying the yarn. The teeth of the teeth located at one end of the winding carrier are each adapted to the interdental spaces of the teeth located at the other end. The surfaces on which the yarn is wound can be wound up to the area of the two teeth and max. Cover 50% of their total axial extent.

When two winding carriers are axially stacked on top of one another, the opposing, ring-shaped toothings mesh in the best case, with the non-wound 50% of the toothing being guided under the winding of the opposite winding carrier. The end face of the wraps on them are thus close to one another without any space. In this way, the winding can be prevented from sliding off the winding carrier during transport and the use of the usual intermediate plates or intermediate layers covering the spaces can be dispensed with. At the same time, storage and transport space are saved and, in the event of an axial compression, it is ensured that the pressure exerted thereby also becomes effective between the windings, so that relative movements between the windings on the one hand and the winding carriers on the other hand are practically eliminated. It is also important for dyeing to form a homogeneous yarn column from stacked bobbins, in which the ends of the bobbins are close together.

To improve the guidance between two axially adjacent winding carriers at one end of the winding support, a collar projecting axially beyond the toothing is provided, on which a thread reserve groove can be accommodated, and at the other end of the winding support a receptacle adapted to the external dimensions of the collar.

In the known winding carriers, despite the advantages mentioned, disadvantages are also clearly noticeable. When winding the bobbin, the thread reserve provided on the radially inward-facing collar is first wound up. However, the inner diameter of the winding carrier is smaller in this area than at the opposite end, which leads to problems with the bobbin winding machines which, in the case of the other winding carriers of the prior art, insofar as they have a thread reserve groove, they expect this with the larger diameter at the end. In such a situation, however, the thread reserve groove is not to be designed in a concealed arrangement. Once the thread reserve has been wound up, the thread must be guided onto the surface on the radially outer side, which carries the yarn, in order to wind it. Since the spooling of the yarn-bearing surface of the known winding carriers can only cover 50% of the axial extent of the toothing, a transition area is created here, which the thread has to bridge by spanning the exposed 50% of the toothing. In any case, however, there is an axial stacking of adjacent winding carriers and the interlocking of the opposing teeth to a pinch or to a tear of the thread coming from the thread reserve and thus to a quality reduction z. B. caused by incorrect coloring or malfunctions when unwinding in the event of a tear.

Since it is not possible to reach under the opposing bobbins due to the toothing without tilting the bobbin, damage to the thread can also occur here due to the edges of the toothing. The toothing also reduces the safety of the receptacle in the spooling device and there may be permanent widenings, so that when the spooled winding carrier is inserted into one another, the flared teeth can penetrate the yarn. In order to be able to wind such a tube, it is necessary to replace the take-up plates present on winding machines with take-up plates of suitable dimensions, because the known winding support ends up the thread reserve with the smaller inner diameter, and thus vice versa as usual.

The invention is therefore based on the object of designing a bobbin of the type described in such a way that, while maintaining the known advantages, it is possible for the wound bobbin to be placed axially one on top of the other without the risk of thread damage or jamming.

This object is achieved in that the winding support has an additional collar at the end having the receptacle, which radially offset inwards to accommodate the outer dimensions corresponds to the inner dimensions of the collar located at the other end, the additional collar axially up to approximately the front side the recording or beyond.

Due to the bundles now present at both ends of the winding carrier, the winding onto the surface carrying the yarn can take place up to the two ends of this surface. If two winding carriers according to the invention are now placed axially one above the other with their associated coils, then the additional collar of the one winding carrier can be inserted into the cylindrical inner surface of the other winding carrier, hereby simultaneously inserting their collar into the receptacle lying radially outside of the additional coil. This results in the opposing end faces of adjacent windings lying directly against one another. Mutual engagement of the winding by the adjacent, yarn-supporting surfaces is not necessary and damage or jamming of the thread is excluded. If these frets are formed axially protruding, mechanical damage to the bundle via which unwinding is avoided at the same time. The guidance conditions are improved and the thread reserve is protected against mechanical damage when the winding carriers are inserted into one another. The additional collar also has a smaller inner diameter than the collar that has the thread reserve groove, so that no problems occur with the bobbin winder and machine conversions can be avoided. Existing mounting plates on the winding machines can continue to be used.

According to one embodiment of the invention, it is provided that each winding support has a Has stop shoulder for a collar of an axially adjacent, preferably the same winding carrier. This stop shoulder determines the depth to which the adjacent winding carrier can be inserted with its collar into the receptacle. The depth can be such that a small gap remains as a space between the ends of the winding carriers that support the yarn. Since the surface of a bobbin carrying the yarn can be wound up to its two ends, the thread can be wound from the thread reserve accommodated on the bundle without a transition to this surface, so that damage occurs when the bundles of two identical bobbins assigned to one another are joined axially or the thread cannot be torn off. The space between the axially opposite ends of the surfaces carrying the yarn is dimensioned so that the thread coming from the thread reserve can be guided between them without being pinched. However, the space is of no importance for the direct abutment of the end faces of adjacent windings.

Consequently, in the case of the winding carriers according to the invention, a homogeneous yarn column protected against slipping off the winding carriers is formed in the case of an axial stacking by the mutually supporting ends of the end faces, so that the use of intermediate plates or intermediate layers can be dispensed with. In the event of an axial compression of the winding carriers, it is also ensured that the pressure exerted thereby also becomes effective between the windings.

Furthermore, an embodiment of the invention provides that the surface carrying the yarn has means (8) for the axial guidance of the thread in the area of at least one end, which can be designed as a groove. This groove, into which the thread is wound, additionally prevents the winding from sliding off the winding support over the two ends of the surface carrying the yarn.

A supplementary embodiment of the invention provides that the outer envelope of the body of the winding support is conically shaped at least in some areas.

This makes z. B an even tighter pack of the wraps possible. This makes it possible to pack even closer than the original winding width. Such a winding carrier is unwound over the larger outside diameter.

Another embodiment of the invention provides that the collar and / or additional collar are each formed on an insert which each has an insert collar and is inserted with this into a corresponding inner surface of a winding carrier. As a result, the structure can be simplified and made cheaper.

Finally, according to an embodiment, it is also provided that the additional collar is formed by ribs, the radially outer surfaces of which form a collar surface, wherein the ribs can also be aligned radially. As a result, the flooding can be significantly improved in the overlap area. The proposed winding carrier can be wound on its entire free peripheral surface and on the thread reserve groove.

The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 1 shows a schematically illustrated winding carrier 1 with an additional collar 3 located at one end and displaced radially inward relative to a receptacle 2. The external dimensions of the additional collar 3 are adapted to the internal dimensions of a collar 4 and can therefore be provided with the same axially adjacent winding carrier 1 into the cylindrical inner surface 10 encompassed by the collar 4. In the receptacle 2, a stop shoulder 5 can be seen for the abutment of the end face of one end of the same axially adjacent winding carrier 1. This determines the depth at which the collar 4 can be inserted
is dimensioned such that a small gap remains between the ends of the opposing surfaces 7 carrying the yarn, so that the thread which is guided from the thread reserve onto the surface 7 carrying the yarn cannot be squeezed. The other end of the winding carrier 1 shown shows the collar 4 with a thread reserve groove 6. The thread reserve groove 6 additionally protects the thread reserve wound therein when the collar 4 is inserted into the receptacle 2. At both ends of the winding support 1, part of the surface 7 carrying the yarn can be seen.

FIG. 2 shows, also shown schematically, a further embodiment of the winding support 1, but with grooves 8 located in the region of the two ends of the surface 7 carrying the yarn. The grooves 8 are spooled with the thread,
so that it is pressed into the grooves 8 and thus prevents the winding from sliding off the winding support 1 over the ends of the surface 7 carrying the yarn. In addition, the stop shoulder 5 'is moved inwards and into the region of the end with the collar 4, which now cooperates with the end face 26 of the additional collar 3 of an axially adjacent sleeve.

Figure 3 also shows a schematic representation of a winding carrier 1, but with conically shaped body 9. This allows a closer packing of the winding carrier 1. The diameter of the winding support 1 decreases towards the collar 4, and the surface 7 carrying the yarn merges smoothly into it, so that the thread coming from the thread reserve can be wound without transition to the surface 7 carrying the yarn. The determination of a gap between the ends of two axially adjacent surfaces 7 carrying the yarn by the stop shoulder 5 or the insertion depth of the collar 4 determined thereby can be omitted, since the ends of the surface 7 carrying the yarn do not lie opposite one another on one plane. There is therefore no risk of crushing the thread coming from the thread reserve. The outer diameter of the additional collar 3 located at one end for receiving 2 radially inward also corresponds in this embodiment to the inner diameter of the collar 4 located at the other end, so that the additional collar 3 with the same axially adjacent winding carrier 1 in the collar 4 can be inserted, whereby the end faces of opposite windings lie directly against one another. The collar 4 can also be provided with a thread reserve groove 6.

In FIG. 4, a section through a partial region of two winding carriers 1 can be seen on an enlarged scale, showing the bundles 3, 4 of two winding carriers 1 lying axially one above the other or one next to the other. The collar 4 of the one winding carrier 1 is inserted into the receptacle 2 of the other winding carrier and is supported with its end on the stop shoulder 5 of the receptacle 2, whereby, with corresponding dimensions, a small gap between the axially opposite ends of the surface 7 carrying the yarn can be produced, which allows a squeeze-free guiding of the thread from the thread reserve or the thread reserve groove 6 onto the surface 7 carrying the thread. This also applies to the embodiment according to FIG. 3, which is indicated by the dash-dotted line 7.

In the embodiment of Figure 5, a winding support 21 consists of a winding body 15, the z. B. could also be a cardboard cylinder, and an insert 11 which is inserted with an insert collar 14 in the winding body 15. The mission 11 can be removed and if necessary. reusable. On the insert 11, the additional collar 3 already described for FIG. 1 and the receptacle 2 with a stop shoulder 5 are formed. The surface 7 carrying the yarn has a step in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 5 due to the diameter differences between the outer diameter of the insert 11 and the outer diameter of the winding body 15, which can be avoided by changing the wall thickness of the winding body 15, in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 6 winding body 16, such as this shows the embodiment according to FIG. 6.

Due to the smaller diameter of the winding body 15 according to FIG. 5 compared to the embodiment according to FIG. 6, it is possible in an embodiment according to FIG. 5 to insert the free end of the winding body 15 into the receptacle 2 of the insert 11, so that a special design of the free end of the 5 is not required in the embodiment according to FIG. Nevertheless, there can be embossed on a thread reserve groove, on which a hidden thread reserve can then also be wound.
With the larger diameter of the winding body 16 in the embodiment according to FIG. 6, this is no longer possible, so that an insert 12 is again provided at the free end of the winding body 16, which insert can be inserted into the winding body 16 with an insert collar 13, as well the insert 11. The insert 12 has a collar 22 with which it rests on the end face of the winding body 16 and the diameter of which corresponds to the outside diameter of the winding body 16, so that the peripheral surface of the collar 22 also becomes a surface 7 carrying the yarn. This collar 22 is then adjoined, as already described in the design according to FIG. 1, by a collar 4 with a thread reserve groove 6. The insert 12 can also be removed and, if necessary, in the embodiment according to FIG. be recycled. The inserts 11 and 12 can, however, also be glued into the associated winding body 15 or 16, for example, or can be made from different materials.

It's closed recognize that the additional collar 3 does not necessarily have to be designed in the manner of a closed ring, but rather can also consist of ribs 17 or 18 as shown in FIG. 8 or FIG. 7. 8 shows ribs 17 with a relatively large radial extent, while FIG. 7 shows ribs 18 with a relatively small radial extent. FIG. 9 shows a corresponding end view, which also makes this radial extension clear in its differences. There, the left side shows the view CD according to FIG. 8, while the right side shows the view AB according to FIG. The ribs 17 and 18 have a radially outer surface 19 and 20, which forms the outer surface of the "additional collar 3" and which can be inserted, for example, into the cylindrical inner surface 10 of the embodiment according to FIG. It is of course possible to also adopt this design, as shown in FIGS. 4 to 9, for insert 11 according to the embodiment in FIG. 5.

In the embodiment according to FIG. 10, an additional collar 3 has a radially inwardly directed, ring-like collar 23, which, for example partial deformation of the additional bundle 3 is reliably prevented and its concentrically arranged opening 24 serves as a receptacle for existing receiving plates on winding machines and also as a centering for existing dyeing spears.

The additional collar 3 projecting in the axial direction has, in addition to the favorable guide length, the further advantage that the bobbin can be placed on the end face of this additional collar 3 during storage and transport, thereby causing injuries to the end face of the surface carrying the yarn with the risk of thread breakage Unwinding in this area can be avoided. In the embodiments according to FIGS. 11 and 12, this risk is accepted conditionally. The additional collar 25 used there is shorter than the additional collar 3 and is no longer or only very little over the end face of the surface 7 carrying the yarn. Nevertheless, by using the ring-like collar 23 already described for FIG Embodiment according to Figure 12, the risk of injury can be reduced.

But also in the embodiment according to FIG. 11, the contact load is distributed over two end faces, so that the risk of injury is also reduced here.
