Definitions
- the invention relates to an operating lever device by means of which the signals can be set as a function of the position of an operating lever.
- Electromagnetic valves are increasingly being used in agricultural vehicles, such as agricultural tractors, and are used to actuate various hydraulic functions of the vehicle or of implements.
- corresponding input devices are required.
- several proposals have become known, for example through US-A-4,419,907, US-A-4,440,040 and US-A-4,438,660, which describe various operating lever devices for setting different operating modes.
- the construction of these operating lever devices is still relatively complex.
- the known operating lever devices also do not meet all of the requirements or wishes placed on them.
- the object on which the invention is based is seen in specifying an operating lever device which enables a steady, constant operating lever movement within a certain range and, when a limit value is reached, an abrupt increase in resistance to further operating lever movement.
- the limit should only be able to be overcome if the operator carries out another manipulation.
- the operating lever device should have a latching function by which the operating lever is releasably held in a certain position. You should have a simple, inexpensive to manufacture.
- the operating lever device contains a housing with a side wall and an end wall which projects from the side wall. There is a slot in the front wall.
- the operating lever carries a pivot pin which is received by the slot and is rotatable in the slot and displaceable perpendicular to the axis of rotation.
- the operating lever can thus be pivoted about the pivot from a central position and moved radially to the pivot axis.
- One (lower) end of the operating lever carries a roller and is fork-shaped. The fork receives one end of the operating arm of a potentiometer.
- the pivot slot is oriented in a direction that is inclined by a certain angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the operating lever located in its central position.
- the operating lever is pushed into its central position by a centering spring.
- a stop or a projecting shoulder is formed on the housing, which engages with the operating lever when it is pivoted to the limit of a certain range. This can be prevented from pivoting into a first deflection position, ie beyond said limit, until the operating lever is displaced in such a way that the pivot moves within the pivot slot in the direction of the projection and the stop is released.
- locking means are provided which cooperate with the roller and releasably hold the operating lever in a deflected position.
- the latching means are essentially formed by a flexible part which protrudes from a central region of the housing and is pressed in the direction of the pivot slot by a latching spring.
- the flexible Part contains protruding work surfaces that engage the roller.
- the operating lever device 10 contains a housing 11 with a side wall 12 and an end wall 14 projecting therefrom.
- a pivot slot 16 is embedded in the end wall 14.
- An operating lever 18 contains a pivot pin 20 which is slidably and rotatably mounted in the pivot slot 16 and which can be rotated both clockwise and counterclockwise from a central position (shown), so that the position of the operating lever 18 to both of them Lateral can be adjusted by pivoting the operating lever 18 in a plane that runs essentially parallel to the side wall 12.
- the pivot slot 16 extends in a direction that is aligned perpendicular to the axis of the pivot pin 20 and is inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis of the operating lever 18, provided that the operating lever 18 is in its central position.
- the (lower) boundary surface of the pivot slot 16 is cylindrical.
- a tap 22 protrudes from the central bottom region of the side wall 12 on its side opposite the pivot slot 16.
- a bore 24 extends through the tap 22.
- Two latching parts 26 and 28 are formed on the tap 22, extend laterally away from the outer (lower) end of the tap 22 and are oriented essentially in opposite directions to one another.
- Two curved strips 30 and 32 extend from the tap 22 to opposite sides and are substantially parallel to (above) the locking parts 26 and 28. However, they are shorter than the locking parts 26 and 28.
- Their strips 30 and 32 are along their entire length rigidly connected to the side wall 12.
- the strips 30 and 32 have smooth guide surfaces and extend along an arc whose center of curvature lies in the pivot slot 16.
- the inner (upper) regions of the latching parts 26 and 28 lie adjacent to and are spaced apart from the corresponding regions of the strips 30 and 32.
- the locking parts 26 and 28 are connected to the side wall 12 only by their ends pointing towards the center, where they are molded onto the tap 22. It follows that the outer ends of the locking parts 26 and 28 can be bent in the direction of the pivot slot 16 or away from it.
- the locking part 26 has a backbone-like elevation 33, which has a first working or ramp surface 34, which essentially faces the operating lever 18, a second working surface 35, which essentially the pivot slot 16 faces, and forms a third working or ramp surface 36, which is inclined to the surface 35 and essentially faces away from the operating lever 18, provided that the operating lever 18 is in its central position.
- the locking part 28 also has a spine-like elevation 37, which forms a first working or ramp surface 38, which essentially faces the operating lever 18, and a second working surface 39, which essentially faces the pivot slot 16.
- a detent spring 50 has a helix 52, which is received by the bore 24 in the tap 22, and two spring arms 54 and 56. Each of the spring arms 54 and 56 engages an associated latching part 26 and 28. The detent spring 50 is biased such that it urges the outer ends of the detent parts 26 and 28 (upward) in the direction of the pivot slot 16.
- a curved guide surface 60 is formed in the side wall 12, which extends along an arc, the center of curvature of which lies in the pivot slot 16.
- the side wall 12 further includes a first stop surface 62 which is adjacent to one end of the guide surface 60 and is oriented substantially perpendicular to the arcuate guide surface 60.
- the side wall 12 there is also a second stop surface 64 which is further away from the central position of the operating lever 18 than the first stop surface 62 and which is also oriented essentially perpendicular to the guide surface 60.
- the side wall 12 also has a shoulder that connects the second stop surface 64 to the first stop surface 62.
- the shoulder surface 66 is aligned essentially parallel to the guide surface 60. The distance between the pivot slot 16 and the shoulder surface 66 is greater than the distance between the pivot slot 16 and the guide surface 60.
- a T-shaped projection 68 protrudes from the side wall 12 and lies between the pivot slot 16 and the center point between the strips 30 and 32.
- the control lever 18 includes a first operator-operated arm 70 that extends in one direction (upward) from the pivot 20 and a second arm 72 that extends in the opposite direction (down) from the pivot 20 extends.
- the second arm 72 has a fork-shaped end in which a groove 74 is formed.
- the second arm 72 carries a roller 76 which is held in position by a pin 78.
- a lever centering spring 80 contains a helical section 82 and two spring arms 84 and 86 projecting therefrom. The spring arms 84 and 86 bear against the projection 68 and against the lower arm 72 of the operating lever 18. They are biased so that they push the operating lever 18 into its central position. As can best be seen from FIG.
- a projecting lever arm part 71 projects from one side of the second arm 72 above the groove 74.
- the roller is carried in a recess 73.
- the spring arms 84 and 86 are received by incisions 75 made in the lever arm part 71, only one of which is visible in FIG. 4.
- a recess 90 into which at least a region of the spine-like elevation 33 engages, is embedded in the side wall 12 adjacent to the outer end of the strip 30.
- a similar recess 92 is embedded adjacent to the end of the other bar 32 in the side wall 12, which receives at least part of the elevation 37.
- Two clamping arms 94 and 96 are located near the opposite lateral edges of the side wall 12 and protrude perpendicularly from the side wall 12. As best shown in Fig. 3, the clamping arms 94, 96 can be detachably latched behind projections of the housing of a measuring transducer 100, for example a potentiometer.
- An input arm 102 extends from the transducer 100 to its end 104 which is received by the groove 74. It follows that by pivoting the operating lever 18, the input arm 102 is rotated about the axis of its end 106, which is preferably connected to a rotary potentiometer (not shown) of the transducer 100. The transducer 100 is thus able to generate an electrical signal that corresponds to the pivoting position of the operating lever 18.
- the transducer 100 may be configured to generate an electrical signal that changes substantially linearly between a minimum voltage and a maximum voltage when the operating lever 18 is in a position in which it rotates, for example, about 45 ° clockwise its middle position shown in Fig. 2 is deflected into a position in which it is deflected, for example, about 45 ° counterclockwise from its central position.
- the measuring transducer 100 can also contain line elements and wiper elements (not shown) which act as opening and closing switching elements in order to generate a step-wise changing voltage signal when the operating lever 18 is pivoted.
- line and wiper elements which are not shown, are preferably arranged such that they act as a switch which switches over when the operating lever 18 is pivoted clockwise, for example by approximately 34 °, into a locking position in which the lever arm part 71 is positioned over the first stop surface 62 was moved and in which the roller 76 was moved into engagement with the working surfaces 34 and 36 of the locking part 26.
- the signal from the transducer 100 can be used by means of a microprocessor and valve driver to generate an electro-hydraulic solenoid valve, not shown, such as, for example to control a selection control valve of an agricultural vehicle or an attachment attached thereto.
- the roller 76 rolls smoothly over the bar 30, and the operating lever 18 is only exposed to the resistance of the lever centering spring 80. The roller 76 finally leaves the area of the strip 30 and engages with the first working surface 34. This intervention causes a sudden increase in resistance, which opposes the further pivoting of the operating lever 18. If the operating lever 18 is pivoted further clockwise, the locking part 26 is pressed down by the roller 76 against the biasing force of the spring arm 54 and deflected until the roller 76 is supported on the backbone of the elevation 33. Finally, the abutment surface 62 engages with the lever arm part 71 and prevents the operating lever 18 from pivoting further out of its central position into a first deflected position.
- the detent spring 50, the detent part 26 and the roller 76 thus act together as a locking means or mechanism.
- the interaction of the stop surface 62 and the lever arm part 71 requires a linear displacement of the operating lever 18 before it can be pivoted into its latched position.
- the operating lever 18 can be brought back into its central position by applying a pivoting force which is sufficient to overcome the latching.

In the
The
Two clamping
The
If the operating
