Definitions

  • the invention relates to a horizontally scrolling display device and more particularly to a display device the posters of which are removable independently of one another.
  • the invention also relates to a poster loading device for horizontally scrolling display devices.
  • Devices having a plurality of parallel shafts making it possible to increase the number of posters that can be presented successively.
  • EP-A-0 214 587, US-A-5 018 289, and US-A-5 138 781 relate to a device with a plurality of shafts as defined in the previous case, maintaining in tension a high chain and a chain low.
  • Each poster is on the one hand associated with the high chain and the low chain by means of a plurality of elastic elements connecting the poster to the chains and on the other hand associated with the preceding and following posters so that they all make an endless carpet together.
  • the posters are attached on all four sides, which is more with impractical systems, the time spent to change one or two posters among the set is long and laborious work and, moreover, in the case of 4x3 poster see larger, the material constituting the poster must be resistant to tears that can be caused by tension due to elastic elements, finally each poster being held on its four sides, this in case of hygrometric variation, deforms by generating wrinkles which can alter its flatness, or even tears. Indeed for a poster exposed to bad weather in a more or less waterproof box, the variation of length and width of the poster can go up to 10% between the night and the position at the zenith of the sun.
  • An object of the present invention is to provide a horizontal scrolling display device which overcomes the drawbacks mentioned above allowing a simplified change of poster.
  • the invention relates to a horizontal scrolling display device comprising, in the service position, in a box having at least one planar viewing face, a plurality of vertical rollers parallel to each other, comprising, each of their upper and lower ends respectively, means for positioning and guiding respectively a high horizontal endless belt and a low horizontal endless belt, at least one of the rollers being provided with a motor system and at least one of the rollers being provided with a tensioning means, the motor system and the tensioning means allowing the synchronous drive and the tension of the high and low endless belts; a plurality of flexible presentation panels of height substantially equal to the distance separating the high and low endless bands and of constant width, each panel being associated with the high endless band in a removable manner, along the upper longitudinal edge of the panel. According to the invention each panel is associated with the low endless band in a removable manner, only at each of the two lower corners of the panel.
  • One of the advantages of the invention is therefore to be able to easily change one or more of the posters more easily than in the prior art.
  • Another advantage of the present invention is to leave the bottom of the panel free of attachment system outside of the lower corners. Therefore the free edge of the panel allows partially compensate for variations in the surface of the poster due to variations in the humidity level in the box.
  • Another object of the present invention is to propose a device for fast loading of posters, appreciably limiting the intervention time and the number of speakers for changing one or more posters of a display device with horizontal scrolling, in particular of the type described above.
  • the invention relates to a poster loading device for a horizontally scrolling display device as described above.
  • the loading device comprises loading door means giving access to the interior of the box near one of the rollers; cassette means having a cassette axis around which, in loading mode, is wound at least one poster to be loaded onto the horizontally scrolling display device; removable coupling means for mounting said cassette means on the horizontally scrolling display device opposite the loading door means, so that in the mounted position of the cassette means, the cassette axis is parallel to the axes of the rollers at height and near one of them; removable means for associating the poster to be loaded onto the endless bands; and rotation means to allow the rotation of the unwinding axis for the unwinding of the poster to be loaded.
  • One of the advantages of this second object of the invention is to allow a single person to load one or more posters on a display device with horizontal scrolling in a reduced time and in particular faster than with the methods or devices currently in use.
  • the horizontal scrolling display device referenced 1 comprises in the service position a box 2 supporting a plurality of rollers 5 with vertical axes of rotation. These vertical rollers 5 comprise at each of their respectively upper 6a and lower 6b ends, positioning and guiding means 7 respectively of a horizontal high endless band 8 and a horizontal low endless band 9. At least one of the rollers comprises a motor system 40 which can drive the high 8 and low 9 endless belts synchronously. At least one of the rollers has tensioning means 41 capable of generating a suitable tension of the high 8 and low 9 endless bands 9.
  • the display device 1 also comprises a plurality of flexible presentation panels 4 of height and width constants. Each panel 4 is associated with the high endless belt 8 detachably and independently of the other panels 4, along the upper longitudinal edge 10 of the panel.
  • Each panel 4 is associated with the low endless band 9, in a removable manner, only in each of the two lower corners 11a and 11b of the panel 4.
  • the box 2 comprises at least one viewing face 3 allowing viewing, from the outside , panels 4.
  • the box 2 is generally, but not limited to, a rectangular parallelepiped shape comprising two large flat viewing faces 3 and two small opaque side faces 42.
  • the plurality of rollers 5 is arranged in such a way that the endless bands high 8 and low 9 have a maximum perimeter while having a length substantially multiple of the width of the flexible panels 4 and while allowing the correct visualization, that is to say planar and entire, of each panel 4 by the visualization faces 3 .
  • the high 8 and low 9 endless bands are pierced with holes 7a regularly distributed along the perimeter of each endless band, intended to cooperate with pins 7b distributed in the same way along the perimeter of each of the ends 6a, 6b of the rollers 5.
  • Such an embodiment allows the gear of the endless belts 8, 9 by one or the other of their faces.
  • the upper 8 and lower 9 endless bands are chain links 50, the ends 6a and 6b of the rollers 5 then being provided with toothed pinions adapted to the links 50.
  • the ends 6a and 6b of the rollers 5 then being provided with toothed pinions adapted to the links 50.
  • such an embodiment allows the 'gear of the endless bands 8.9 by one or the other of their faces.
  • the flexible presentation panels 4 each comprise a flexible poster 20 preferably made of paper of generally rectangular shape of determined height and width, carrying the advertisement or the informative text which it is desired to exhibit, and a flexible strip 21 presenting perforations 14 regularly. distributed along a median longitudinal line 23.
  • This flexible strip 21 is glued to an upper longitudinal edge 24 of the flexible poster 20 so that the resulting panel 4 has an upper longitudinal edge 10 with perforations 14 intended to cooperate with attachment studs 12 distributed in the same way along a lower line 13 of the high endless strip 8.
  • the studs 12 are of symmetry of revolution of axis perpendicular to the high endless band 8 and comprise a bulged part followed by a shoulder forming a groove with the high endless band 8.
  • the flexible band 21 has perforations 14 of oval shape for example of major axis coinciding with the longitudinal center line 23 of the flexible strip 21 so that the perforations 14 forcefully pass the bulge of the studs 12 and come to rest in the groove formed with the high endless strip 8.
  • each panel 4 further comprises two rigid sections "L" shaped.
  • Each lateral border 28 of the poster 20 is glued to a wing 27 of one of the profiles 25, so that the panel 4 thus produced is in the form of a banner held laterally on either side by the profiles 25 forming stakes.
  • each panel 4 comprises two sections 25 having lateral hooking studs 70 regularly distributed intended to cooperate with lateral perforations 71 distributed correspondingly along the lateral edges 28 of the flexible poster 20.
  • removable locking profile sections 74 are attached to the sections 25. These elements 74 cooperate with said lateral attachment studs 70 to sandwich the lateral edges 28 of the flexible posters 20.
  • the locking elements 74 comprise locking holes each having a first part 75 of diameter slightly greater than the diameter of the pad head 72 extended in the longitudinal direction by a second part 76 of width less than the diameter of the pad head 72.
  • the mounting of the locking elements is done in two stages, namely a first stage where the first parts of the locking holes are passed around the facing stud heads, then a second step where the locking element is moved in a longitudinal direction so that the peripheral edge of each second part of the locking holes is blocked around a axis 73 under the head 72 of the associated stud.
  • the locking elements are cover profiles associated with the poster profiles by a hinge, so that in an open position they give access to the studs and in a closed position they cover the said studs and pinch the side edge of the poster.
  • two adjacent sections 25 of two different panels 4 are associated with each other by elastic elements.
  • each profile 25 has a first attachment means 26 to the high endless belt 8 and a second attachment means to the low endless belt 9.
  • Each profile 25 has a hole 26 in the wing 27 on the flexible strip side 21 serving as the first attachment means 26 and intended to cooperate with a lug 29 for attachment arranged on the high endless strip 8.
  • each profile has a low end serving as a lower corner 11a, 11b directly above a third attachment means 32 associated with the low endless belt 9 intended to cooperate with the second attachment means 15.
  • the third attachment means 32 is a hook 32 secured to the bottom endless belt 9 and the second attachment means 15 is an elastic element 30 associated with the profile 25 by removable means 31, for example, by snap-fastening, by use press button, or by a suspender type system, stretched between the section 25 and the hook 32.
  • the rollers 5 have high 33 and low 34 annular grooves made respectively in the high 6a and low 6b ends opposite the studs 12 and the hooks 32 respectively. These grooves are dimensioned to allow the passage of the studs 12 and the hooks 32 when the endless bands 8, 9 pass around the rollers 5, the studs and the hooks projecting inwards. As a result, no tension is created on the high 8 and low 9 endless bands or on the poster 20.
  • the central part 35 of the rollers is constituted by a vertical axis joining the two ends 6a, 6b surrounded by a very elastic and very flexible material, for example polyurethane foam or equivalent. Therefore when the endless bands 8, 9 pass around the rollers 5, the profiles 25 projecting inwards, the latter are embedded in the polyurethane foam creating no tension at the level of the high end bands 8 and low 9 or poster 20.
  • All the constituent elements of the device 1 are dimensioned so that the posters 20 are substantially coincident with the plane of the neutral fiber of the high and low endless bands.
  • these posters 20 do not undergo any traction (tearing generator) and no compression (frown generator) and can be of paper of the type of that of posters glued 4x3 without specific anti-tearing treatment.
  • the fact that the lower edge of the poster is free makes it possible to compensate, without annoying deformation of the poster, for the variations in paper tension due to the degree of hygrometry.
  • these advantages are optimized due to the presence of the relative play between the poster and its profiles.
  • FIG. 4 represents a schematic view of a device 1 seen from three quarters comprising six rollers 5 allowing the scrolling of four panels 4 with two display faces. It is obvious that by increasing the number of rollers 5 there would be obtained a device 1 allowing the scrolling of more posters without departing from the scope of the present invention as defined in the claims.
