Definitions
- the invention is based on a connector strip, in particular for an electrical switching device.
- the flat connectors which are connected to the conductor tracks of the circuit board of the switching device, are arranged in several rows.
- These known plug connections have no pressure compensation element in the base body of the plug connector.
- the pressure compensation elements are arranged in the housing wall of the control device. To check the pressure compensation element for its functionality, an additional test procedure is necessary when installed. However, each control unit must be checked individually to ensure absolute operational reliability. Spot checks are not sufficient.
- the invention has for its object to produce a pressure compensation element in a simple manner.
- the pressure compensation element according to the invention according to claim 1 and the power strip according to the invention according to claim 2 have the advantage that the control unit is inexpensive to manufacture and the arrangement of the Pressure compensation elements for a series production in large quantities is suitable.
- the installation of the pressure compensation element in the connector strip saves space and enables easy installation. No additional test procedure is necessary since the pressure compensation element can be checked together with the functional test of the connector strip. Since each individual connector strip is already checked for functionality, the check of the pressure compensation element can be coupled into this test process. There are no additional test procedures to be carried out separately, nor is the test procedure required for the connector strip impaired. Due to the special design of the pressure compensation element, very simple installation in the connector strip is possible. By simply attaching a step, a safe installation in the specified direction can be guaranteed in one function of the pressure compensation element. If the pressure compensation element is arranged inside the base body, no additional cover is required to protect the pressure compensation element. The base body then immediately represents the protective cover.
- FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section through a plug connector with built-in pressure compensation element
- FIGS. 2 and 3 each show a longitudinal section through another exemplary embodiment
- FIGS. 4a and 4b show a longitudinal section through a pressure compensation element
- FIG. 5 shows a longitudinal section through a modification of a pressure compensation element.
- 10 denotes a base body of a plug connector 11 made of plastic, which has on its front side a receiving body 12 for receiving a mating connector (not shown).
- a multiplicity of tabs 13 are embedded in a sealed manner in the base body 10.
- the tabs 13 arranged in several rows protrude with their plug sections 14 into the receiving body 12 for the mating connector.
- the other end of the flat plug 13 is designed as a connecting lug 15 and soldered to an associated conductor track, not shown, of a printed circuit board.
- An extension 10a is formed on the base body 10, on which there is a locking part 17, with which the counter bearing can be fastened to the connector strip 11 in the form of a snap lock.
- the housing 17 of a control unit is arranged on the side of the plug connector 11 facing the connecting lugs 15.
- a pressure compensation element 20 in a recess 19, which enables pressure compensation between the interior of the housing 17 and the surroundings of the control device. This is necessary because the electronic components of the control unit emit heat during use and thus the temperature and the pressure conditions inside the housing 17 of the control unit change.
- This pressure compensation element 20 consists of an air-permeable membrane 21 which is mounted in a carrier 22.
- a labyrinth-like bore 25 is provided in the base body 10 of the plug connector 11, through which the pressure escaping from the inside of the housing 10 through the membrane 21 is conducted to the outside.
- one or more bores 25 can be present in the base body.
- the pressure compensation element 20 is arranged in the locking part 16 of the plug connector 11. From the space 26 formed above the membrane 21 of the pressure compensation element 20 in the locking part 16, a bore 27 leads to a bore 28 which opens into the interior of the housing 17. With the help of these two bores 27, 28, the space 26 is connected to the interior of the housing 17 via the membrane 21, so that pressure equalization through the membrane 21 is possible.
- a cover plate 30 is placed on the locking part 16 of the plug connector 11, which cover is located at a short distance from the membrane 21 on the outer side of the locking part 16 over the entire length of the pressure compensation element 20 engages over the locking part 16.
- the carrier 22 of the pressure compensation element 20 has a plurality of steps 33 on the outer wall, each of which corresponds to a step 34 formed in the base body 10 of the connector strip 11.
- steps 33, 34 are necessary in order to always ensure correct insertion of the pressure compensation element 20 into the connector strip 11 in the case of a membrane of the pressure compensation element 20 which is only permeable in one direction.
- the steps 33 are formed in that a plurality of bores 35 are formed at a uniform angular distance from one another. The bores 35 cut the outer wall of the carrier 22 in a small area.
- the two steps 33, 34 can be dispensed with.
- the insertion of the pressure compensation element in the prescribed direction is also necessary because so-called energy directors are inserted in the carrier 22, not shown in the drawing, which are necessary for the energy conduction during ultrasonic welding.
- the pressure compensation elements 20 can in various ways Receiving body 12 of the connector strip are attached. For example, they can be glued in or fixed using the ultrasonic welding process.
- FIG. 5 shows a particularly simple embodiment, brought about by a rational production process for a pressure compensation element 20a.
- the membrane 21 is placed on a carrier 38.
- the carrier 38 has a bore 39 which has been stepped down once.
- the membrane 21 is now extrusion-coated with a plastic compound 40 in the area on the side facing away from the carrier 38 and, at the same time, the bore 39 is injected with this plastic compound.
- the plastic mass 40 wedges through the stepped bore 39, so that there is a firm and intimate bond between the carrier 38 and the plastic mass 40 and the membrane 21 is thus arranged firmly and immovably.

Abstract
Description
The invention is based on a connector strip, in particular for an electrical switching device. With previous connector strips, the flat connectors, which are connected to the conductor tracks of the circuit board of the switching device, are arranged in several rows. These known plug connections have no pressure compensation element in the base body of the plug connector. Furthermore, as is known, for example, from US Pat. No. 4,800,244, the pressure compensation elements are arranged in the housing wall of the control device. To check the pressure compensation element for its functionality, an additional test procedure is necessary when installed. However, each control unit must be checked individually to ensure absolute operational reliability. Spot checks are not sufficient.
Die Befestigung der Membran im Dichtteil ist aber relativ aufwendig und teuer.DE-A-3 707 050, which corresponds to the closest prior art, describes a pressure compensation element which forms a preassembled unit. Here, the membrane that seals a hole is inserted with its raised edge into a sealing part made of rubber. The ends of the housing base, which is closed off by the pressure compensation element, are also embedded in this sealing part. The membrane is also covered by a splash guard. This splash guard has a fastening edge in which three openings are formed at the same distance in the circumferential direction. A mushroom-shaped knob formed on its outer circumference of the sealing part engages in these openings, as a result of which the sealing part and the splash guard are linked to one another. Due to the mushroom-shaped configuration of the knobs, the splash guard is encompassed by the sealing part. The centering tabs of the splash guard lie on the inside against the central wall of the cup-shaped middle part and thus center the position of the splash guard. The fastening of the membrane in the sealing part is relatively complex and expensive.
The invention has for its object to produce a pressure compensation element in a simple manner.
The pressure compensation element according to the invention according to claim 1 and the power strip according to the invention according to claim 2 have the advantage that the control unit is inexpensive to manufacture and the arrangement of the Pressure compensation elements for a series production in large quantities is suitable. The installation of the pressure compensation element in the connector strip saves space and enables easy installation.
The measures listed in the subclaims permit advantageous developments of the connector strip specified in the main claim.
Embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing and explained in more detail in the following description. 1 shows a longitudinal section through a plug connector with built-in pressure compensation element, FIGS. 2 and 3 each show a longitudinal section through another exemplary embodiment, FIGS. 4a and 4b show a longitudinal section through a pressure compensation element, and FIG. 5 shows a longitudinal section through a modification of a pressure compensation element.
In FIG. 1, 10 denotes a base body of a
An extension 10a is formed on the
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2, the
As can be seen from FIG. 4a, the
