Abstract

The invention relates to a stacking device for piling paper sheets with upper belts conveying into a pile delivery. The aim is to make the device more reliable in the pile formation for high conveying speeds in a simplified construction. This is achieved in that the lower strands of the upper belts (23) transporting the sheets (26) are returned in front of the stop face of a front aligner (21) around a relatively sharp-edged belt deflection (29), the sheets being deflected downwards in the region of the belt deflection by fenders or stop plates (37 or 48) running at an acute angle to the conveying plane of the sheets and having openings (38) for the upper belts. In this way, the paper sheets are secured against curving up at their leading edge even at high conveying speeds, and a satisfactory pile is formed. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a device for collecting sheets of paper or the like into stacks, with a lowerable stacking tray and associated upper conveyor belts and the conveying plane of the paper sheets and the lower strands of the upper conveyor belts, essentially vertically penetrating front arrangement means.

The device described at the outset serves, for example, to collect successive sheets in stacks in one or more conveyor tracks running next to one another. In the present context, the term sheet should not only be understood to mean paper sheets, but also other flat articles such as film sections made of plastic, metal, nonwovens, paper or the like, which can be treated like paper sheets.
The sheets can be cut off from one or more webs with a cross cutter and conveyed one after the other or in the form of a shingled stream to the stack.
Especially in the processing of relatively thin sheet material with a wide range of uses, such as for the production of form sheets, the front arranging means in cooperation with the upper conveyor belts are of crucial importance for a position-appropriate storage of the sheets in the stack and for their holding down in the conveyor level.

The invention has for its object to ensure proper stack formation, in particular with regard to difficult handling conditions of the sheet material used and its range of benefits with a high conveying capacity.

This object is achieved according to the invention by a in the area of the stacking tray directly in front of the stop surface of the Front-facing means arranged belt deflection of the lower strands of the upper conveyor belts. In this way, a closed, ie free of breakthroughs for the upper conveyor belt vertical stop plane of the front instruction means is obtained, so that a format-dependent transverse adjustment of the top conveyor belts can be carried out without consideration for the front instruction means.
An optimized sheet guidance and sheet deposit, in particular in the area of the leading sheet end, is achieved according to a further development in that the tape deflection has a relatively sharp deflecting edge which deflects the lower strands at an acute angle.
The belt deflection is expediently designed as a rigid, stationary round rod, which can be realized with significantly less design effort and space requirements than a roller design that is also conceivable.
Thin sheet material, for example form paper, to be deposited in large widths and at high conveyor speeds, poses particular problems in the area of its leading or leading end. In order to be armed against such difficulties, a particularly effective embodiment provides that the belt deflector is assigned a sheet deflector which cuts the conveying plane of the paper sheets at an acute angle and has a passage opening for the lower strands of the upper conveyor belts. In this way, arching or entrainment of the leading bow ends at the belt deflection is prevented with certainty.
In order to ensure a secure sheet deposit also between the sheet deflectors that can be adjusted transversely together with the upper conveyor belts, it is also provided that a fixed sheet stop positioned at an acute angle to the conveying plane of the paper sheets is arranged between the sheet deflectors.
An adaptation of the device to different A format is most easily achieved according to an expedient embodiment in that sheet deflectors and upper conveyor belts can be adjusted laterally, depending on the format, along a common traverse carrying the sheet deflection by means of a movable bridge.
In order to facilitate the lateral adjustment, it is also provided that the traverse is articulated on adjusting means which can be swiveled in, so that the upper conveyor belts are relieved of tension during the adjustment.

The advantage achieved by the invention is that, even at high conveying speeds, the particularly critical leading end of the paper sheet is directed onto the stacking tray in the area of the front-end operator, so that a stack of homogeneous configuration is obtained. In addition, the changeover of the stacking tray or its associated and upstream conveying means in the form of the upper conveyor belts to other format widths is considerably simplified since the front operator is not affected by an adjustment.

The invention is explained below with reference to the embodiment shown in the accompanying figures.

The sheet depositing device shown in FIG. 1 corresponds in principle to the arrangement disclosed in German patent application P 42 24 010.7 and is only explained below with the aid of device components that facilitate understanding of the features of the invention.
The arrangement shown in Figure 1 is designed for a multi-use storage device and is used in a correspondingly multiplied parallel arrangement within a common frame 1, of which only a side wall 2 and a transverse cross member 3 are shown.
Arranged within the frame 1 is a carriage 6 which can be moved in the longitudinal direction (arrow 4) and which is composed of cross members 7, 7a and connecting strips 8. A longitudinally extending bridge 9 is guided in a transversely movable manner on transverse guides 11 of the carriage 6, which are only indicated on one side.
The bridge 9 is assigned a support slide 12 which can be adjusted on the cross member 3 together with the bridge 9 perpendicular to the plane of the drawing and on which the bridge is supported so as to be displaceable in the longitudinal direction 4.
A longitudinal drive 13 is used to adjust the slide 6 in the longitudinal direction 4 (paper running direction) and a transverse drive 14 is used to adjust the bridge 9 in the transverse direction or perpendicular to the plane of the drawing.
In the center of a stacking tray 16 in the form of a lowerable pallet in accordance with FIG. 2, the bridge 9 carries a side straightener 17, which is guided on the bridge 9 by means of a cross slide 18 in the paper running direction 4 and is movably arranged on a further cross member 19 transversely to the paper running direction 4.
The carriage 6 carries at one end a front format determining the longitudinal format of the paper sheet 21, which is arranged on a bridge 22 on the cross member 7, such that it is supported on the stacking tray 16 and in it Height adjustment of the respective pallet position is tracked.
The bridge 9 and the support carriage 12 carry two upper conveyor belts 23, which delimit two adjacent conveyor tracks for paper sheets 26 to be accumulated, which are conveyed by means of a rotating belt conveyor 24 in a shingled formation.
The upper conveyor belts 23 run over rollers 27a to 27d, which are mounted on the longitudinally stationary support carriage 12, and over rollers 28a, 28b and a rigid belt deflection 29, which forms a relatively sharp deflection edge, in the form of a stationary round bar 31, which is mounted on the movable bridge 9 are.
The roller 28a, which can be moved longitudinally with the bridge 9, and the roller 27a, which is mounted on the longitudinally stationary support slide 12, form a tape store 32 which compensates for the changes in the tape length between the roller 27d and the round rod 31 when the slide 6 is adjusted.
The upper conveyor belts 23 are driven by a common drive roller 33.
In order to ensure a trouble-free transverse movement of the bridge 9 with the upper conveyor belts 23, the latter can be lifted off the drive roller 33, for which purpose known belt lifting means 34, not described here in more detail, are used.
The round rod 31, which deflects the lower strands of the upper conveyor belts 23 and runs directly on the inner stop surface of the front converter 21 and is fastened to a crossbar 36 which extends transversely to the paper running direction 4, is assigned a sheet deflector plate 37 which cuts the conveying plane of the paper sheets 26 at an acute angle is equipped with through openings 38 for the lower strands of the upper conveyor belts 23.
The sheet deflector plate 37 can be moved together with the upper conveyor belts 23 by means of a slide guide 39 along the stationary cross member 36 and projects beyond this for this purpose Driver plates 41 and driver plates 42 attached to the sheet deflector plate 37 in towing connection with the cross-adjustable bridge 9 depending on the format. To facilitate the transverse adjustment or to relax the upper conveyor belts 23 on the round bar 31, the cross member 36 is around a swivel axis 45 located on a side wall part 40 by means of a on the Bridge 22 of the slide 6 engaging pivot cylinder 43 can be pivoted inward away from the front converter 21 via a turntable segment 46 rotating about an axis 44 on the side wall part 40 and an articulated coupling rod 47.
The sheet deflecting plate 37 engages around a sheet stop plate 48 which extends on the underside over the entire length of the cross member 36 and is set at an acute angle to the conveying plane of the paper sheets 26.
The round rod 31 can be optimally adjusted relative to the front plate 21 by an additional height adjustment in the direction of the double arrow 49 and longitudinal adjustment in the direction of the double arrow 51 of the side wall part 40 supporting the cross member 36.
When a sheet stack 52 is formed on the stacking tray 16, the paper sheets 26 fed in shingled formation are advanced from the upper conveyor belts 23 to the front converter 21, being in the area of the upper conveyor belts 23 by the sheet deflector plate 37 and outside the area of the upper conveyor belts 23 by the sheet stop plate 48 are deflected downward at their leading leading edge against the sheet stack 52.
As an alternative or in addition to the described sheet deflection, blowing air can also be applied to the paper sheets 26 from the interior of the cross member 36, which is indicated by the arrows 53.
