Bei derartigen Schränken wird aus Sicherheitsgründen eine Zwangsverriegelung zur Sicherung der Türe bzw. der Türen verwendet, um ein Aufspringen der Türen während der Fahrt zu vermeiden. Da in derartigen Schränken oft schwere Werkzeuge gelagert sind, kann das Öffnen und Entleeren eines Schranks in einer Kurve neben der Beschädigung des Werkzeuges auch eine erhebliche Gewichtsverlagerung mit sich bringen, die die Fahrstabilität des Fahrzeugs beeinträchtigen könnte. Daher wird bei diesen Schränken eine Zwangsverriegelung derart eingesetzt, daß die Türen durch eine federnd vorgespannte Schließeinrichtung automatisch geschlossen werden, wenn die Türen ihre Schließposition erreichen. In der Türe selbst, vorzugsweise in ihrer oberen und unteren Querstrebe ist jeweils eine Öffnung angeordnet, deren Achse sich in der Ebene der Tür erstreckt, beispielsweise in senkrechter Richtung. In diese Öffnungen greifen die federnd vorgespannten Schnappriegel ein, wenn die Türe ihre Schließposition erreicht hat. Zum Öffnen der Türe verfügt der Öffnungsmechanismus über ein Gestänge, das gegen den die Öffnung durchsetzenden Schnappriegel betätigt wird, so daß dieser aus seinem Eingriff mit der Öffnung gelöst wird. Das Gestänge kann z.B. direkt den die Öffnung durchsetzenden Teil des Schnappriegels mit einer Druckkraft beaufschlagen, die gegen die Vorspannfeder des Schnappriegels wirkt, so daß dieser wieder aus der Öffnung der Türe herausgedrückt wird. Der Schrank 10 besteht aus einem Schrankrahmen 12, an dessen senkrechten Streben zwei Türen 14,16 schwenkbar angelenkt sind. Die erste Türe 14 ist im Bereich ihrer ersten senkrechten Türkante 18 an dem Schrankrahmen angelenkt. Im Bereich der zweiten senkrechten Türkante 20 befindet sich ein Öffnungsmechanismus 22 zum Entriegeln der Tür aus ihrer Schließstellung.
