Description
The invention relates to a method for separating small workpieces from a workpiece-abrasive mixture, wherein the workpiece-abrasive mixture is introduced into a liquid and the separation is carried out after the body has risen and descended in the liquid. The invention further relates to a device for carrying out such a method.
For surface treatment of small workpieces, e.g. Glasses parts, methods or devices are used in which the workpieces are put into a common movement together with grinding wheels, in which the workpieces are inevitably subjected to a surface treatment by rubbing the two mixture parts against one another. Such devices, also referred to as vibratory grinding or polishing systems, can e.g. be designed as centrifugal force devices or as vibration devices.
In the case of different sizes of grinding bodies and workpieces, the two mixture parts can be separated after machining the workpieces using a vibrating sieve through which the grinding bodies fall and in which the workpieces are retained. However, this method cannot be used for grinding bodies and workpieces that are not very different in size. It has to be sorted out manually in a very time-consuming manner.
In der EP-A1-301 608 wird ein Verfahren der eingangs genannten Art vorgeschlagen, bei dem das Trennen von Schleifkörpern und Werkstücken statisch erfolgt, was sehr viel Zeit erfordert.EP-A1-301 608 proposes a method of the type mentioned in the introduction in which the grinding wheels and workpieces are separated statically, which takes a very long time.
The invention has set itself the goal of creating a method by means of which even small workpieces which correspond in size to the grinding wheels can be quickly and safely sorted out from a grinding wheel / workpiece mixture. This is achieved in that the workpiece-abrasive mixture in a container is exposed to an upward liquid flow, in particular water flow, the absolute flow rate of which between the sinking speed of the workpieces and the sinking speed of the grinding wheels is and the heavier mixture parts, in particular workpieces, are collected at the bottom of the container, the lighter mixture parts, especially the grinding wheels, are pulled off at the top.
Practical tests have shown that a simple, extremely safe and, in particular, rapid separation of the two mixture parts can be achieved by such a method.
In the context of the invention it is also possible to provide the water with additives which increase the viscosity or density.
In the experiments carried out, a device was used which is characterized according to the invention in that a sieve basket having a closed bottom is inserted into a container which is provided in the bottom with a feed line from a pump and into which a nozzle which opens a feed opening for the workpiece-abrasive mixture is provided. With such a device, the workpieces have settled in the sieve basket, the grinding bodies have emerged together with the liquid above the nozzle.
To remove the liquid mixed with grinding media, the container is surrounded by a collar in the form of a drainage channel which directs the liquid mixed with grinding media to a collecting container.
In order to achieve a compact unit of the device, the collecting container is designed as a strainer basket and is arranged in a housing which also accommodates the pump and the container.
In order to be able to adapt a device according to the invention to different types of workpieces and grinding wheels in a simple manner, the pump is expediently designed to be controllable. The controllability can e.g. can be achieved by speed control or volume control via cover slides. This enables a change in the flow rate of the liquid and thus an adaptation to the sinking speeds of the workpieces and the grinding wheels.
The invention is described in more detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawings, but without being limited to this embodiment. 1 schematically shows in section a device according to the invention and FIG. 2 shows the diagram of the different speeds.
In operation, the liquid conveyed by the pump 3 flows upward essentially to the side of the
A workpiece and abrasive mixture applied from above has a tendency to sink downwards. Due to the different sinking speed between the workpiece parts on the one hand and the grinding wheel parts on the other hand, however, only the workpieces will sink downwards, whereas the grinding wheel will be carried upwards by the liquid. There they flood the upper end of the nozzle together with the liquid and are passed via the
At the end of the separation process, the grinding wheels can easily be removed from the collecting
Es ist ersichtlich, daß sich durch geometrische Addition eine resultierende Steiggeschwindigkeit vsr der Schleifkörper und eine resultierende Sinkgeschwindigkeit vwr der Werkstücke ergibt.2 shows the speed ratios, the speed of the liquid v f, the sinking speed of the grinding wheels v s and the sinking speed of the workpieces v w being plotted on the abscissa. It can be seen that a geometrical addition results in a resulting rate of climb v sr of the grinding wheels and a resulting rate of descent v wr of the workpieces.
Numerous modifications are possible within the scope of the invention. In particular, the device according to the invention can be varied in many ways. For example, At the beginning of the
